Hotels Near Coley Park Allotments in Reading

Very close to city center with access to food late at night. 15 minute walk to Train station. The room is tidy and bathroom is neat. However there is no amenities. I paid another 10 pounds to check in early at 12. The lift was not working at the time.

Just bath and no shower. Feels like home but nothing like a modern hotel. Basic amenities. Spacious room. Cute little place with free parking. There are food places around. Was stuck in Reading for the night and saw this was close by and price was right..

The good part: Staff are very friendly although check-in seems to take a little longer than Premier Inn, the reception area and seating to relax looks fantastic and the pizzas that the staff make 24/7 are absolutely delicious. The drink & pizza prices are reasonable. Location wise is spot on, just a two minute walk from the train station and central to everything. They provide more variety of tea & coffee in rooms, such as fruit & herbal teas, and decaff coffee, this totally beats any other budget hotel. Bad points: This is a cashless hotel & this is something i'm firmly against for a variety of reasons they lost £200 in sales due to this from myself & friends. The pillows are rock hard and kept waking up with a sore neck, the beds are also uncomfortable and feels like your sleeping on the floor. The noise from housekeeping is absolutely atrocious all you hear from several floors above and below, are the staff dragging large heavy trollies around and this goes on from 11am to 4pm if you need to sleep during the day forget it. The toilets smell of sewage & urine so sometimes you return back to your room and it stinks. There is also construction work ongoing Monday-Friday until Nov 2022 yet the prices are still very high. The cooling systems seem to work fine for an hour or so but then quickly the room becomes stuffy and warm, due to the location having the window open is very noisy especially at weekends.

Good location, good breakfast, nice person, a little bit noise on Saturday night, too hot in room, no air conditioning.

Awful location right in centre of Reading where there is absolutely NO PARKING anywhere near the hotel. You cannot even stop just outside to set passengers down or drop luggage as it is entirely surrounded by double RED lines - no stopping at any time. You have to park in a long stay car park at the Railway Station, which is a good 7 or 8 minutes walk away, and carry your luggage to the hotel yourself. Lad who checked us in was so helpful. He not only found me some additional pillows and brought them to the room very quickly, but he also booked a cab for us to our restaurant at the Oracle. On the other hand, the girl on duty this morning obviously could not give a toss when I reported that our air conditioning did not work and our toilet did not flush. As it was the hottest day on record yesterday, we had to try to sleep with a tiny window open to get any air, which of course (in a city centre) was noisy. As for the toilet, the very least I demand of any hotel room is that I get a functioning toilet. I had to take the plastic inner from the waste bin in the bathroom and fill it with water in the sink and then tip it into the toilet to get rid of our waste. Not pleasant. And this was in the £340 a night Rocket suite! Girl on duty's response - ”I will tell maintenance”. Not even a ”sorry to hear that” let alone any offer of compensation by reducing the bill. Awful. Will never stay here again.

Exceptional service from booking to checkout. True definition of going the extra mile to ensure every aspect of our stay was as expected. Exceptional customer service from senior management to customer facing staff at reception. Vivek, Catia and Riko… your energy and passion ooze through every interaction and is contagious! Every staff member at every interaction is approachable, a special mention to Nicola and Fariha at reception; very helpful and friendly while well presented and professional. Your cleanliness and attention to detail and person centred approach has blown us away. We are well travelled, but see ourselves returning to you no matter what event or occasion we are celebrating. From birthdays, relaxing adult only weekends, family breaks, team building weekends… There is nothing we would not trust the hotel staff to manage. Thank you for making us feel part of the Voco Reading family, best #IHG hotel in this part of England, and we are definitely coming back. Excellent value for money for the service you provide!

Isabel was incredibly helpful and attentive. It’s the first time I have ever know a conference be truly inclusive for dietary requirements, so thank you. The room was set up exactly as we requested, yea and coffee was readily available as requested and the goodies were delivered right on time! The high end organisation made our away day the best day. Wasn't impressed to receive text whilst abroad to say if we checked in late our room could be let. We were flying back and couldn't guarantee getting there at 3 pm. Had to get family member to call to explain. There are 2 Travelodges, one each side of the motorway. We booked the westbound one. Both have the same postcode. Our satnav only recognised Eastbound side. Result was they couldn't find our reservation. Apparently this happens a lot. Staff redirected us so only a few minutes and a few miles delay. Our arrival delayed by difficulty at Heathrow,ie Terminal change and over an hour and a half hours delay before passengers could access luggage reclaim. Staff shortages. Arrived at nearly midnight. Only Costa open at services. However, staff at hotel helpful. Situation good and quiet despite proximity to M4. We were very pleasantly surprised. Room clean and plenty of space, bed comfortable, coffee-making facility welcome. Bathroom fine and water hot. Slept really well and plenty of choice for breakfast with services placed only a few yards away but not causing any noise problem at the hotel. Enjoyable stay. Pity about postcode confusion Maybe explanation to take westbound services turnoff given on website when booking would avoid confusion and save people being taken to the eastbound site. We were worried when satnav told us to pass westbound services but assumed hotel was approached by another turnoff shortly after. It would have made our arrival far less fraught to have been aware of the fact there were Travelodges BOTH sides of motorway. The hotel itself was good and gave us a comfortable night.

We booked a single night's stay at this hotel to visit family in Maidenhead. The hotel was clean, comfortable and in a wonderful setting on the river. We were all made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived, Ashley on reception was friendly and made us feel at home. We only ate breakfast in the restaurant but this was enjoyed by all, including my fussy children. We will stay again on our next family visit.

Excellent time, warm clean large room nice looking and stylish bed comfy soft pillows, nice big shower all clean hot water large soft towels. Keller bar was easy to get to great food and the band was great with a really buzzing atmosphere the night club was good too easy music to dance to. Easy to get back to my room at the end of the night. There was a lady called Laura who was always checking the ladies and floors making sure everything was safe she even kept the loo rolls topped up! All the the staff were really friendly and it was such an enjoyable experience. The next morning I visited the spa which was really great with pool, steam and sauna etc plus gym area all Technogym equip. Then a full English breakfast there was a good selection of food all warm and tasty. The staff were well organised clean tables etc. Well worth the money for all types of groups and families staying I would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you and see you again soon!
