Fantastic night. Absolutely phenomenal food and service. I would urge anyone who wants to come to Berkshire to book this venue either for bed and breakfast or an evening meal. Anna and all her staff are so welcoming. Such a beautiful country pub with fabulous food, service and staff.

Great location, lovely bar staff, comfy bed, the perfect stay! Would recommend anyone to come and stay here. The food was also lovely and the wait wasn’t long! Great selection of pints and wine cannot wait to go again. Thanks so much to the lovely staff!

Lovely, but it's a shame the service let it down Lovely room, lovely pub, food good, however service is the slowest I've ever experienced. I sat down for dinner at 6.15pm and gave up waiting for someone to ask what I wanted for desert at 8.45pm. When you are a solo traveller it's a drag to sit there on your own for so long looking like a lemon. I left cash on the table and went to bed. The only other gripe I would have is that breakfast starts at 9.30am. That all said I'm sure the service was a one off, I'd stay there again and give them the benefit of the doubt.

Loud music, cold and cobwebs I checked in on a Monday and the pub was full of people and the lights off when it says the pub is usually closed. I went to the room which was okay, I heard them turn the heating off so had an electric heater luckily but wasn’t the best. Seemed to be an event on and music was playing very loud until 12:30pm so not much sleep

I would stay again, but just a couple suggestions. The owner was very welcoming, as were the team working when we arrived. Unfortunately, the window ledge in the pub was pretty dirty, which was off-putting for a place serving food. Once in the room it was clean, but a few things were missing that would have made the stay better: Shower curtain or glass divide to keep the shower from getting the bathroom wet, a light above the mirror in the bathroom, and finally - it was unseasonably cold this June, but it would have been nice if there was some heat in the room or a way to control it. It is good value for the price, and would stay again, but just a few Alex Polizzi improvements would make it so much better.

Calm and beautifully decorated hotel We had a lovely stay. Even though we had to arrive hours after we intended the staff was polite and helped us to check in out of office hours. The area is calm and you get to wake up to the sound of birds together with a lovely garden outside. We did not stay there any longer time, but would really like to visit this hotel again after this experience.

The Bull have begun serving their Christmas menus quite early and we decided to try out their 3 courses for £25 deal. It was excellent! Complementary glass of mulled wine to start which was perfect on such a chilly day. Generous and tasty starters - we had soup and prawn cocktail. I don’t normally choose soup as it’s quite filling but it was really delicious! Then traditional roast turkey for the mains; the meat was succulent with plenty of veg to accompany, including a side dish of cauliflower & broccoli cheese. The desserts were beautifully presented and a good size to end the meal. Service was attentive and friendly and the bar/restaurant area had a nice atmosphere with a log burning stove & pretty Christmas decorations. Definitely really good value. The only thing I would change was the music which didn’t really add to the atmosphere - something more subtle would be good, although we were glad the Christmas songs haven’t started yet!

Lovely country pub with lovely staff and lovely roasts. Very good value for the size of the portions. Crispy roast potatoes, hot veg and melt in the mouth pork belly. It was nice to have open fires as it gave a warm feeling to a lovely old building.
