First time here after being recommended it from a friend. I must say the carvery was superb. Lovely welcome from the staff on arrival. Choice of 3 meats, pigs in blankets and all the trimmings you could ask for. Well done everyone, will most certainly be back.

Booked for the two of us for 1 night bed and breakfast, instead of driving 2 hours home at the end of a party. We weren’t on Four in a Bed tv show, so nothing was inspected to the enth degree. The premises are over the road from the beach. The car park very adequate, was round the back with a rear entrance door. The reception lady was very nice, polite and informative. We were in room 26, twin room at the front of the hotel. Decor was tired and yes could do with a revamp, but it was very clean, bed comfy. As I said, we didn’t inspect it - it’s a typical east coast hotel that we were sleeping in for 1 night. We liked it. The bar/restaurant was very pleasant and fairly busy. We only had a few drinks before the taxi arrived. Breakfast was buffet style. My opinion, waste of money to serve in this way. Was 4 of us guests in total eating a full English at 8 to 8.30am Would be better, to take food order and cook and serve as they go, like a well known Inn do in some of their places. The bacon was very well done, the baked beans were cold. Could imagine those eating say 8.30 onwards would be met with cold/tired food, and maybe a lot of food waste for the owner. We would stay here again if needed and would recommend but don’t be snobby it’s a nice clean hotel that’s probably fighting cost of living like most of us are.

We had a suite which was only a little extra from the normal rooms, very large and nice large bath and bathroom. Sea views and literally across the road from the beach. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast good, buffet style, plus pastries etc. I heard somebody at reception saying the food was excellent in the restaurant, we chose to eat out as unfortunately the restaurant closed at 6 15 pm on Sunday. All in all a very nice stay.

We thought we would try somewhere local for my birthday meal. We had read good reviews so would give it a try. How I wish we hadn't! My partner and I chose to have carvery with a choice of three meats, yorkies and veg. The meat was palatable, the yorkies were tough and on the edge of being burnt, the roasties, well............... and the veg stewed with no recognisable taste. Our friend chose the steak pie, chips and mushy peas which, she was assured, were real mushy peas. The piece of pie was huge but had been reheated so the pastry was soft and inedible, the chips were just cooked with no colour or flavour to them and the mushy peas were not real but out of a tin. We didn't receive a check back which didn’t surprise me as it would have been too embarrassing for the staff who were lovely. We did complain at the time of paying and were told everyone is saying the same that the food is awful. My only advice to anyone who is thinking of eating here is DON'T the food is terrible. I believe the hotel has recently changed hands but if the quality of food remains the same they won't be open for very long.
