Villa di Mare Seaside Suites

Arriving at the airport and being met was ‘comforting’ no need to look for a taxi or bus. Nice start. We arrived later in the evening and the gentleman on reception took his time in showing us around the small complex and into room, delivering our bags. We had a room with its own little plunge pool - although rather cold! The room was quite compact but decorated nicely and very clean. Maid service each day. There were six rooms with these little plunge pools and they seemed to vary in size slightly. They did not show on Google earth when I looked so I presume are relatively new. The rooms are directly across to another room with a plunge pool but trees/bushes were growing to help with privacy. The only downfall I had with the privacy was due to a long wooden walkway running above one side of these six rooms. It led to a community room/area for local people at the back of the hotel. A fence had been erected for privacy/safety (or was probably there before these rooms were built) but some people would stop and look through the slats of the fence. It made me uncomfortable at times whilst sunbathing. And the noise from the walkway was apparent most days with children running up and down the wooden walkway area. But that’s my opinion and it may not have bothered anyone else. The main pool was relaxing and the open views across the sea were mesmerising. Lovely to lie and read/relax in such pretty surroundings. We were on a bed and breakfast package. And this was available until 12 each day. It was an A la Carte type menu and the choice did not disappoint. Lots of choice. We didn’t eat in the restaurant in the evening as there didn’t seem to be much for my husband - who likes ‘basic’ food!!! And even with the 15% off looked a little pricey. But the cocktails from the pool bar were delicious. Lots of outside restaurants and drinking places nearby. 2 directly across the road. If you turn right when you exit the hotel and keep walking past some of the bigger hotels you’ll come to a fabulous Italian restaurant on your left. We walked into Rhodes Town. It took about 90 mins. Taxi back! A great little boutique hotel. Very trendy especially for the younger than myself and my husband set!! High standards. It’s a place to be seen I was told. 😄

The hotel is clean and well maintained and the staff are helpful and friendly. We didn't eat in the bar so I can't comment on the food but it looked good and plentiful if a little overpriced! Be aware though that almost EVERYTHING is an extra so budget quite a bit more if you want to use sunbeds, air conditioning or wifi. We didn't as the costs were outrageous. We had a Superior Studio apartment and the beds were very comfortable and the room cleaned daily. We didn't find any of the 'complimentary' toiletries which they advertise although we had a lovely but empty liquid soap dispenser! The shower is really good and would be better if the shower screen had been bigger. They do supply a squeegee for you to remove all the water that sprays all over the bathroom floor. The shower has a fixed head and can't be adjusted and there is a switchable hand shower head for squirting your 'bits'. A good hair dryer is provided. The biggest deal-breaker for us was that in no way was it a fully equipped self-catering apartment. There is NO KETTLE, NO TOASTER and very little of anything else in the way of kitchen equipment. A coffee peculator is provided which is useless (and I stress useless) for making tea. If you want to self-cater, the very reason we booked this hotel, don't bother booking here. You will be very disappointed. If you want to eat out there are many very good restaurants within very short walking distance. You'll be lucky to get breakfast before 10:30 AM though. If you are a light sleeper then think about what it would be like sleeping within one meter of your fridge compressor turning on and off all night long. The balcony is far from private and ours had only a view of an orange tree which was sprayed with chemicals (I assume) every couple of days! It was right next to the walkway to all the other apartments which is great if you want to meet everyone while you're trying to eat your boiled egg and no toast breakfast washed down with lukewarm tea! All in all we had a great time in Rhodes and this hotel could so easily be made to be perfect but sadly I really think they are more interested in taking money than providing a comfortable self-catering holiday experience. Still gave them an above average score though for all the good reasons stated above but we won't be staying there again for all the many bad reasons. Be sure to check out the Royal bar just round the corner. The food is wonderful, the owner and staff are fantastic and the prices reasonable. A bit further on is the San Allotte restaurant which is equally good (maybe better) but more expensive.

Sun Beach Resort

The Hotel is clean and well maintained. It's not a noisy location at all, in fact it's beautifully serine. Our room was right on the beachfront which was awesome, 20 meters to the water, beautifully blue and not as cold as expected. The entertainment team were outstanding especially Ian a young croation lad. The food was different every night, greek delicacies absolutely nailed, however sushi and Mexican night weren't delivered quite as well, but still edible. The hotel staff were pleasant and hard working all the time. The family and I absolutely loved this place and cannot recommend strongly enough. To be honest as I'm writing this review I have changed it from an original rating of four star to five as even though I have stayed in nicer places the people played a huge part in making this holiday great. Well done team and thanks for a great stay. 👍
Kassandra Hotel

I do not normally write reviews but felt compelled to give our experience. From the outside we were very pleased with the look of the hotel & we're greeted by a friendly receptionist. Our room was on the ground floor & on openening the door my heart sank.it was like being in a cave & sounded like it too.just a door & inside 1 window to the side for the whole appartment making it so dark even with the lights on,no balcony or sliding doors to make you feel like you were on holiday.even the 1 door could not be left open due to no mosquito screen on it.our neighbours all complained of multiple bites when they slept & so we never had the door open all our holiday.the bin in the kitchen was full to the top with our predecessors rubbish & a light bulb in the kitchen wasnt working, the bed was so hard & the walls so thin it was quite embarrassing to hear everything from our neighbours. We normally cook breakfast but the kitchen was poorly equipped with no toaster, fry pan & sufficient light to see. I could go on but feel that we were given the very worst rooms in the hotel. The evening entertainment which we rushed back to see never arrived, nor the one planned for in the week. We did not ear at the hotel but found some lovely restaurants around Ilalysos & rhode is just 20mins.away by bus or €15 by taxi..I feel very sorry to have to complain & I'm sure that given a better room it might have been a different review but in my families case this spoilt the whole holiday for us..We did not ask to move rooms as our son was moved due to a horrible smell in his room & was just moved around to the back of our apartment which was exactly the same without the smell. What a shame to put hardworking people in inferior rooms when the hotel was half empty & the other rooms were quite obviously empty.
Electra Palace Rhodes - Premium All Inclusive
4.3/564 Reviews
Just back from our holiday at the Electra Palace and we had a fantastic time. Beautiful hotel with lovely amenities. I usually find all inclusive in Europe to be sub par especially compared to hotels in Mexico but not here. I would say it’s the best all inclusive hotel I’ve stayed in in Europe. Food was delicious and there was a fantastic selection. The A La Carte restaurants were fabulous too. The only thing I would say is as a family hotel I feel the hotel needs more high chairs. We travelled with 2 small children who both required high chairs and it was difficult to get sometimes. As we were there in May at night time it could be a little chilly when sitting watching the entertainment, The only thing that would make it better would maybe be some little fire heaters in that area but other than that what a fantastic holiday and we can’t wait to come back!
