Rose Garden Palace Roma by Omnia Hotels

Via Veneto Rome|0.23km from Biblioteca Arturo Chiari
We enjoyed a 3 night stay at Rose Palace. The front desk gave us tired travelers a warm welcome that made us relax immediately. Our room overlooked the back of the American Embassy with guards stationed outside 24/7 so it was definitely safe. The hotel is a little off the beaten path from the usual touristy spots in Rome but in a very quiet area. The room was very clean. We had 3 in our room and the 3rd person had to sleep on a full size pull out couch. It was comfy for a pull out (you couldn’t feel the bar under the mattress) but unless you put up the bed every day the only place to sit were the beds. It had a small fridge and the bathroom was updated but limited on counter space around the sink. The buffet breakfast was geared toward a variety of tastes. Scrambled eggs, a variety of pastries, orange juice, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, cheese, meat, etc. When the weather was nice we enjoyed sitting outside in the garden. There is a tiny grocery store called Co-op around the corner where you can buy the basics. Also on the next block is an ATM in the alcove of the bank entrance that seemed secure to use. Reading older reviews we thought there was a restaurant in the hotel serving dinner but it turned out to just be a small bar. So we walked a couple of blocks north and ate at Cesarina and enjoyed a good meal and friendly staff. There were a lot of other restaurants to pick from in a 2-3 block radius. The ones on Via Vittorio Veneto appeared to be more expensive than the ones northeast of the hotel. There is a taxi stand a couple of blocks away and we used both Uber and inTaxi for rides back to the hotel.

The location is good, the hotel is located in the alley; the facilities are not good, the wireless network speed is too busy, the signal in the room is not good, the room area is too small, this should be a universal problem. The service is more friendly and professional.

Ten years after our last visit we pitched up again, this time with family in tow. Sometimes this doesn't work, but the Roma was once again great to us. We were even given the same room as before and Alessandro was still there with the rest of the staff making our stay so fantastic. Location is not far from the Galleria Borghese and the Pincio as well as the Via Veneto for the shoppers in our family... The rooms are reasonable size with good air con and a balcony for looking out into the Roman streets below. Bed v comfortable and breakfast fine (for Italy) with great coffee. Part of the joy for us is the location in an old Roman building, which gives an insight into how the Romans live now. We threw our coins in the Trevi Fountain so a return visit will not take 10 more years...

We booked the Suite, which was very spacious: living room, bathroom with tub, and bedroom with queen bed (or perhaps slightly larger). For the price, it was a tremendous amount of space (seems very difficult to find a room in Rome with even a single chair to sit in!). The suite faced an interior courtyard and was very quiet. The mattress and pillows were quite comfortable, on the firm side which I prefer. The AC/heating units in the living room and bedroom were quiet and functional (another review someplace complained that they were noisy, this was not our experience). Breakfast was better than I expected, and included coffee, yummy pastry, hard boiled eggs and yogurt, some cold meats and cheese. All of the staff were extremely friendly. The neighborhood was quiet, but with everything you need nearby (proper supermarket in the building, espresso bars and restaurants nearby). The location is about 30 minutes walking distance to many historical sites; we were happy to get our steps in, but returning for a mid-day pit stop was at times inconvenient. A few things in the room were a bit run down, for example some of the furniture was past its prime (though still functional), and the bed linens were a little threadbare. Instead of an electronic key card, you had to carry around physical keys for the building, the room, and the room safe; maybe this is typical for a boutique hotel in Rome, but I especially would have preferred a safe with numeric code rather than worry about the key. As other reviews mention, entering the building is a bit confusing. One tip: when you arrive, go right and take the elevator to the 5th floor to check in—but have someone stay downstairs with the luggage, because the room is located on the other side of the building on the 2nd floor.

Trevi
This is a luxury boutique hotel located close to the Piazza Barberini and Barberini metro station. The service from the staff was fantastic, always smiling and very friendly. The rooms were great and very comfortable. Breakfast was great every morning. I loved that it was a small hotel with a personal service, and it felt very cosy. The location itself is very convenient, there's a small supermarket within 2 mins, lots of cafes and restaurants also and within walking distance (20 mins max) to most main attractions (Trevi, Spanish Steps, Colosseum), the only time we took a taxi was to the Vatican and the train station (which is also walkable if you don't have lots of luggae). Overall great experience and stay! Would highly recommend.

A traditional hotel with charming rooms, lovely staff, great breakfast and in a great area only 10 mins from the Spanish steps.. surrounded by palaces and embassies. A lovely roof terrace for breakfast, ornate, clean rooms and very welcoming staff… they even let us checkin early and leave late with no extra charge.
