It's right next to Lake Rotorua. If you have breakfast on the street in the morning, you can walk to the lake to feed the pigeons. There is an outdoor heated swimming pool, but unfortunately it was too cold when we went. The hotel is also very close to the snack street, so it is very convenient to walk there for dinner. The only thing is that the front desk closes early, so if you arrive after five o'clock, you need to pick up your keys by yourself. Overall, it's a great place.

Really enjoyed our stay. Rooms were well-equipped and comfortable, and staff was super friendly and helpful.
The mineral bath was a bit dated, but they’re planning on some renovation, and in spite of its age, the mineral bath was clean and comfortable.
Appreciated their commitment to conservation, sustainability and local sourcing, all done without sounding preachy.
Really a very fun visit. Would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful stay in Rotorua--found this place based on other recommends and was not disappointed! Customer service was especially stellar, and we really enjoyed the private hot spring pools that the place offered, a real treat!

Great staff! Great location!
Wonderful place to stay in Rotorua. Let me start with the staff: so incredibly friendly and helpful. They get your day off to a great start with their enthusiasm. Location is a few minute walk from town and plenty of cafes and restaurants. As an added bonus, they even have mineral pools on-site (which I have to admit I didn't try, but where do you find a hotel like that).

Friendly place
Great stay. I arrived late and the key was in a noticeable place. Great property with the friendliest people - both in front office and housekeeping. I stayed in two different rooms. Unfortunately, I found random black hairs in both of them when I first arrived.
Wifi is fantastic - and that was crucial for my stay, as an entrepreneur.

One night in Rotorua. A fantastic welcome by Ellen and her team to this nice little apartment. Easy parking outside the door, close to the lake and walking distance to restaurants and shops. Lime cafe next door does an amazing brekkie. Aura itself is a little ‘tired’ and will soon undergo some updates to the facilities. The great atmosphere and lovely staff make up for a few small areas of shabbiness. We were only in town for the night and so pleased we chose Aura.
