The transportation is a bit inconvenient, you need to take the bus! The scenery is really good, you can see the lighthouse if the weather is good! The room and bathroom are very clean, the bed is very comfortable, and the overall space is OK

The hotel is relatively clean and tidy, with rich breakfast. There are no restaurants or supermarkets around. The small garden is nice, especially if the weather is good. Many rooms do not have kettles and are only for rest.

Superficially clean rooms, upon spilling some water on the floor, wiped it up with the bath floor mat only to find the mat extremely dirty, not sure when the floor was mopped last, a bit off putting since no telling what folks pick up on their walk through Porto. English speaking and helpful front desk staff. Rooms are nicer than the Budget Ibis. Room does not have a refrigerator, nor safe but apparently the front desk has a safe (please use it). Elevator to upper floors is available. If unfortunate to have a room facing the rear parking lot no problem waking up since sunrise shines directly into the room. Not quite sure whether the A/C worked (may just be my unfamiliarity with the controls), attempted to get the room temp. down to 69-70 F without success, finally opened the window a bit but road noise all night was terrible. Good breakfast selection of breads, jams, cheese, cold cuts, juice, fresh fruit, but..... the scrambled eggs taste and smelled fishy, not exactly the first thing I want to smell in the morning (could be wrong but apparently chickens are fed fish meal ?). Easy enough to get to the hotel from the Gaia train station via the Bus 903 Arcos stop and getting off at Chas but the location of the hotel is terrible without having a car. Unless one is in extremely good health and willing to walk an hour to downtown Porto, taking the bus or a taxis is the only option. 903 continues on to the Musica round about. Unfortunately, if paying by cash, you'll need to pay each time you take a different bus which can quickly add up at 2.50 Euro pp. There is a mall with a food court very close to the hotel, getting there by foot is doable but not easy. The walking route that Google maps gives you is wrong in that it requires you to walk on the highway. One has to cross the bridge in front of the hotel and pass through several neighborhoods to get to the mall. Unless one wants to partake of the many wineries which would take some time, Porto has sufficient sights to see for a day tour, probably 2 days max. The Santa Clara church is impressive (4 Euro pp entry). Lots of restaurants and pastellerias around town.

We had room 206 with a wonderful view over the marina to the Atlantic Ocean. Ample free parking. The walk into the Gaia side of Porto is long, but it’s along the boardwalk by the river, so not hilly at all. The staff at reception and at the bar were all very nice. The breakfast was above average. The bathroom amenities were also above average. We stayed on the weekend, and the prices go up during the week, as we assume it’s mostly a business hotel.

Just arrived to check in to find Jose at the front desk. He informed us our rooms were not ready and was not apologetic or hospitable about the situation. He should be retrained or fired immediately. I'd be curious to hear what Jose is trained to do because what happened definitely isn't what should've been done. As a travel agent, I would be horrified if my clients went through this situation. This is the second issue I've had with an Ibis hotel in a week. I will no longer be booking any clients at any Ibis hotel and I urge you to not book at Ibis either. As a travel agent if this is the experience I am having I can only imagine the experience everyone else has. The room was fine but nothing special. It is a place to rest your head but that is it. In conclusion, you certainly get less than what you pay for at Ibis and have to deal with completely incompetent front desk agents.

We were very pleased to have selected this hotel. It was a short distance from the centre of Porto, but only a 9 euro taxi ride away. The bonus of this was that it was a quiet and peaceful location, particularly important to us as we had a 11 year old child. The staff were extremely helpful, providing use of a forgotten phone charger amongst other things. Breakfast was a very good selection. All in asll, excellent value

Very good breakfasts, rooms cleand everyday. We recommend for short stay in Porto. Staff smiled everyday and helpful. Location is not bad - bus station in few minutes from the hotel. Pressed orange juice was delicious

Good service, very efficient staff. Lovely breakfast. Clean hotel. Bed ok but take your own pillow! Lumpy, small cubes of sponge does not make for a comfortable pillow...please buy better pillows! Hotel is conveniently close to motorway and double glazing keeps most of the noise out but a strange narrow entrance road through a housing estate to the hotel was a bit weird! Overall a good one night stay apart from the pillow!

I stayed here with friends and we had an enjoyable time. I'd never stayed in an Ibis before and was a bit doubtful about it, but this one was very lovely. The lady behind the desk wasn't that informative, but that may have been her English. My room was very tiny but comfortable. There wasn't much in the way of storage but if you're only staying for one or two nights that's probably okay. The decor is all dark and modern. I got a good night's sleep and didn't hear any noise from outside my room. The bathroom was also tiny, but clean and the shower was good. The only downside is the location which is far from everywhere you want to see. We walked down to the harbour for our evening meal and the walk up the hill afterwards was a bit of a trek. We had to taxi into Porto and then when we got back to the Vila Nova de Gaia side of the river we had to taxi back to the hotel again. It all adds to the cost.

Such a nice hotel and service! Since we had to book rooms for our students and teachers we had several phone conversations with the excellent Sylvia who really helped us a lot finding the right type of accommodation. the rooms were clean, they also have family rooms with connecting doors and two bathrooms, which we booked for our students. Breakfast was great for such a price, really good quality and for the price, really great. Comfortable mattresses and clean rooms that had really everything we would need to spend comfortably a whole week. The restaurant was a great surprise, although they do not cook the food there and they just heat it up, had excellent pizzas, soups, and salads. In general, everything we had tried was really good and the children preferred eating there than anywhere else, since the atmosphere was homey and the service great again. It is a bit far if you want to see the city, but the taxi is cheap and the areal is quiet, so you get a good night's sleep away from the noisy city center. I can not recommend it enough, we had a great stay and we want to say a great THANK YOU to all of the staff !
