Starhostel Dongdaemun Suite

Great location, metro, bus stops, next to the night market. Everything matches the description. The room is small, but all the basics are there. European breakfast - eggs, toast, cereal. Administrators speak English, know a little Russian 😉. Always ready to help. I liked the stay.

The toilet paper cannot be flushed, but must be put in a small trash can. The shower is opposite the toilet, so it always gets flooded. There is also a lot of mold. There were bugs as soon as I entered the room. The fridge stays cold even after removing the card key. The location is good for going to Dongdaemun and Myeongdong, but there are some shady shops on the way from the hotel to the street, and after 7pm, a woman over 60 years old with heavy makeup and a miniskirt was standing there smoking a cigarette. The neon lights are bright, and a woman with heavy makeup is watching people walking down the street from her room. Breakfast is only bread, cereal, and smoked food*, but it was delicious. Please wash your own dishes. Eating in your room is prohibited, so if you eat at the hotel, you must eat in the basement where breakfast is served. The staff were kind and used audio guides in Japanese, so it's fine for backpackers, but it's better to understand that it's a hostel after all. If you want to stay in a normal hotel or business hotel, you should avoid this place.

In general, it's ok for budget tourists! Very responsive owner, cheerful. Helped carry suitcases upstairs. At first they gave us a room with the wrong type of bed on the 4th floor, then they themselves realized that they made a mistake and the next day they changed the room, which unfortunately was not cleaned. They promised to clean, but never came. The room has everything you need - shampoo, gel, hair dryer, towels. The air conditioner blows right into the bed at night, we were afraid of catching a cold.. the breakfasts are ordinary - coffee, tea, toast, ham, cheese, jam, everything is fine) It's fine for just spending the night.

The location is amazing. It's in the middle of an alley (in both senses). It's easily accessible from Euljiro 5-ga Station, but the dark, narrow alley is lined with snack bars, and at night there were several people sitting there. I walked quickly. I didn't feel particularly unsafe, but it was still scary. The shops were closed at midnight and there was no one there, so it wasn't scary. I walked to Dongdaemun alone after the date had passed and went shopping. The room was clean to a minimum. I liked that there were two towels. When you leave the room, all the lights, including the air conditioner charger, are turned off. The front desk staff were very kind and nice. Breakfast was delicious.
