Our stay was pleasant and most of the staff were very helpful & friendly. They will greet us whenever we walked pass. Too bad we did not have the chance to enjoy the facilities and dine in the hotel. One feedback I had was during our check-in day on 28 Feb 2024. We were not sure if we had arrived at the right hotel as we do not know the hotel's Chinese name. It was raining and I wanted to alight & make a quick check with an older porter at the hotel entrance/drop-off point. When I asked the older porter ”这里是不是 Okura Garden Hotel?” He just brushed me aside and said ”不知道!”. In the end I had to dashed into the hotel lobby and reconfirmed with the reception on duty. Understand that English may not be a common language for the hotel staff especially the older ones. But won't it make a great difference if the staff at least knows the English name of the hotel that they are working for?

Could see the hotel's basically remants of some classy types in the past (the building and bathroom etc.) but not sure re value for money/friendlieness, was given a room on the first floor (cathay gardens, or the low south building) with view completely blocked by walls. Staff in reception/cafeteria all very businesslike. To be fair it might have felt a harsh contrast coz visited after disneyland. Still, would try tower or other nearby hotels if visiting shanghai next time

When we arrived our room was sold out, so the hotel upgraded us for free and ensured we were happy and looked after. Fantastic location in the city, amazing room and a great trip. Will most definitely book again.

The building is very special, it’s obviously got character but well the inside is very dated, some of the fixtures are not very well detailed for example the shower has some screws coming off and well it’s an old building so it’s understandable, the breakfast was good so was the coffee but half of the staff was friendly and half was a bit careless. It was a good experience.

A lovely hotel with a rich historical ambiance, and the room size was amazing, exceeding my expectations. The ground-floor restaurant was very convenient, but there are several restaurants and pubs nearby offering plenty of alternative options. However, I decided to try the traditional Shanghai cuisine in the hotel and had a meal there. The food tasted good, although it was a bit pricey. The surrounding area was pleasant, perfect for a relaxing stroll that kept me in a pleasant mood.

This hotel was a great find! This was probably the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept in while living in Asia. Walking distance between two subway stations and in an area with a large array of restaurants and shops, the location is great. The staff was welcoming and spoke English. Although they follow city laws and don’t put some of the amenities in rooms any more, they are available for taking in the lobby. Unfortunately, there was hair on the floor and towels, thus the reason for the low score in cleanliness. I would definitely recommend the hotel and will stay here again next time I’m in Shanghai.

Location is not bad not perfect too. If you primarily move by Metro the Station South Shaanxi Road is 750m away what is a liitle anoying when you have to walk it a lot of times.. You can take one of the rental bike which are in big numbers at the station and in front of the hotel as well. Oppsite to the hotel there a s small mini.market where you get a lot of things like beverages, snacks and so on like you find in any mini-market. Stuff is friendly, but if you need english then this is quite limited except of the upper management. Breakfast is good. I had an executive room on 24th floor. The room was goog in any way. If there is a complaint then only regarding the ”executive lounge”, which basically does not exist. There are to standard hotel rooms with a connectiong door where some tables, chairs and sofas are placed. More or less nothing mentionable offered there, except for some very basic packages of snacks which you wuld get in the minimarket for a few RNB. So the executive lounge is definitly NO REASON to book an executive room! But all in all except of this executive lounge topic, which feels a little bit like a rip-off, the hotel is fine and recommendable.

The location of the hotel is perfect if you want to go out for the night in Found 158. The hotel is only up the road from an abundance of small and beautiful shops. Checking in was faster than at other hotels with no extra unnecessary questions. The decor is a little old but that has no affect on anything but aesthetics. I had two issues however. The only mirror available was in the bathroom where there are no useable plug points for appliances. It was a fun little mission to straighten my hair in the reflection of the mirror.

Surrounding by downtown streets, with tons of shops, coffee shop, milk tea,… Very convenient. In front of the hotel have a building full of good restaurant, one of them sell fish hotpot, one of the best thing we ate at shanghai, but it is not cheap at all, it is expensive. Rooms looking all good, smell good, and spacious. However the laundry or laundry service is super expensive, (EX) about 10-15$ for a tshirt. You should wash it by yourself in the sink instead. All cleaning ladies are very nice, helping services available 24/7 pretty helpful.

I have stayed at Youxi Movie Hotel at 242 Ju Lu Road, Shanghai, China about three and half weeks from 13th November to 5th December. I had a wonderful time there. It located at the central Shanghai and is close to many entertainment centres and tourist attractions and shopping centra. The staffs at Youxi Movie Hotel were very helpful and friendly and the service is excellent. It was very surprise to me that my room is very quiet at night and you can watch a film on the wall while you are in the bed. My room is quite big so once I had my friends came over to watch the movie and chatter. And this hotel is quite new and the my room is very clean too.

The location is very central. It’s connected to many important sites: Starbucks reserve, Shanghai natural history museum and two metro lines. It was convenient point to travel from to explore Shanghai. There are also plenty of restaurants and shop. The rooms are beautiful and clean. It had many utensils for cooking and comfort. It also had a projector to watch movies at the end if the day. The information from the management is very clear and they were available to help us with all their needs. They sent extra water, tissues and helped us book a taxi.

My favourite hotel, with friendly staff like Vicky and Shirley. A short walk from my favourite bar, Funkadeli. Next door to the luxurious and beautiful IAPM, and only a 20 minute walk from my favourite Sunday brunch spot, The Bull & Claw. I highly recommend this hotel for couples and solo travellers. Nice comfortable bedrooms with great heating during winter. There is also a nice gym upstairs which I often use. Will definitely stay here again!

I like this B&B very much. The projection quality is very good, the high-definition large screen is warm and comfortable overall. There are many green plants and decorative dolls in the room. It is very clean. The two beds are very spacious and the bedding is comfortable and relieves fatigue. The landlord's housekeeper was also very considerate and introduced us to delicious and fun places in the surrounding area. At the entrance of the community is an Internet celebrity coffee shop ops that always has a queue. I really like Caturron Punch. The house is located in the city center. It is very convenient to walk to the Otology Hospital, Zhongshan Hospital, Huashan Hospital, and the Conservatory of Music. The staying experience is great!

First of all, the location is very good, the two gates of the community are on Jinxian Road and the other is on Changle Road. It is adjacent to the two streets that are so lively, but it is not noisy at all. The house is also very easy to find. There are many small animals in the community. There are vegetables in the morning, which is very interesting. I lived for more than a month, and I lived out my feelings hahahaha. Although the house is on the first floor, it has floor heating. It is really important for Shanghai. The quality of life is up, the washing machine is dry, the bathroom is small but the life is not in the way, the kitchen is very good, the stove is a bit high, haha, I don’t know if the landlord is big and tall, so it’s designed like this, haha. I lived at home and bought a lot of pots and pans. The small balcony that enters the door can be said to be very perfect, there is a canopy, anyway, the living feeling is very good. The landlord is also very good and responsive. The only drawback is that because it is an old house, the sound insulation is not particularly good in terms of structure, you can hear the sound of playing the piano upstairs, and the sound of humans going out to work in the morning. It's pretty good, don't be scared by the stairs alone, bring a small flashlight yourself! After entering the room, there is no cave. I like this small, very warm little house.
