Overall, it is an excellent hotel. The location is extremely convenient, right at Xintiandi. The hotel is not brand new, but very well maintained. Two points I would like to make: 1. if you book your trip through third party, you cannot use your stay toward your frequent stay points (not a huge deal). 2. they do not have room to fit our family of 4. We need to reserve two rooms. This is because of the room type, not really anything to do with the hotel itself.

Selected the hotel as a trip.com diamond member and was offered to be given the benefit of accessing the hotel lounge which turned out to be a disappointment as the so called happy hour had nothing much except a couple of plates of snacks and some drinks. The lounge service is pretty ordinary, staff there were kind of so bored standing round. This is a total gimmick from both the hotel and Trip.com . However, the breakfast was good with a nice range of selections and decent service. Overall, the hotel amenities are starting to look dated and tired and the pool was tiny with the surrounding facilities look also a bit shabby. The 5 star status remain to be challenged.

We booked a family room and it is a great pleasure to stay here;Large, clean, and complete facilities. We really love to have a washing machine and drying machine in our room. It 's very comfortable. The room looked old, and there was no elevator. It was troublesome to walk up the stairs if you have difficulty walking. The hygiene was not very good. I didn't dare to use the kettle in the room. I asked the waiter to change it, but I still didn't dare to use it. I forgot to take a photo of the one I changed. When I booked the breakfast, I saw two breakfasts, but I was told that they were two pan-fried breakfast rolls from the next door, worth 18 yuan per person. I had to pay for the extra food. I originally booked two nights, but I canceled one night. The overall experience was not good and I was not satisfied.

While it’s a little off the main attraction street, it’s a peaceful neighborhood. Hotel is clean, and staff ever so friendly. Right in front of the hotel, there are rental bicycles readily available. There’s a supermarket and fresh food market stalls just beside the hotel. I appreciate the laundry room - they have iron, steamer, hangers, washer, dryer, detergent too - brilliant really.

I cannot begin to explain how incredible our stay was!!! We are two friends traveling to celebrate my birthday and the staff ember coincidentally had a delicious cake ready for us in the room. Not only this but upon finding out my friends and I’s birthdays are a week apart, she went and got it both gifts!!! Nina is the reason I will always come back to this hotel and recommend all my friends and family who visit Shanghai. The service of the staff was really amazing , great attention to details, big room and space in general. Shower had THE BEST water pressure 😍 the room was clean, well decorated and with great views. The warmth and kindness shown by Nina Tao alone made us melt inside. Didn’t know a stranger could be such a friend and be such a ray of sunshine go no reason but just to make us feel good! Nina Tao is incredible and this hotel is unforgettable. We WILL be back ❤️❤️❤️

Hotel is very close to subway station (80m) from gate 1 or 3, walking distance or 1 subway station away from many iconic tourist attractions and eateries. Staffs were very friendly and attentive, we were only staying for 1 nights, but requested hotel reception to take our parcels a few days before our arrival, so we can pick up our stuffs at our last stop and they were happy to help, thank you. Hotel also provided kid slipper and toothbrush upon request, gave our girl favourite pinky colour pack. Hotel itself were transformed from old building, but noted it was newly renovated and vintage looking from outside, but modern amenities inside, also have modern automated toilets (like Japanese hotels). Will definitely recommend family or other visitors to stay here. The only minor downside is too few seats for buffet breakfast, we were asked to squeezed in with a few other people, but still acceptable, staffs cleaned the table very quickly and find the seats for us within 5 minutes.

Location is good . 20 minute walk from Found 158 venue and 5 minute walk to Line 10. Front desk was friendly at check-in and checkout - however the next morning I requested a bottle of water (from different worker )because I didn’t receive any for the new day. He said “only 2 bottles of water per day” . First , he was so quick to provide an answer he was wrong , and secondly , are we going to be petty about 1 bottle of water ? The bar that holds the clothes broke- but the manager said don’t worry, no charge . My hot water from the shower was gone within 2 minutes but maintenance fixed it . TV is large . Was a great stay! The front desk was kind and helpful, and we loved the robot that took the takeouts and delivered it to our room. Free refreshments in the lobby as well! The hotel is also walking distance to the metro making it really easy to get around. Even if you opt into taking Didi, it is also within vicinity to many Shanghai’s popular spots and walking distance to Nanjing East Road. There was a bit of a smoke smell in our room however as I think the previous occupant smoked inside the room. Otherwise the hotel is completely smoke-free and even have signs to indicate that no smoking was allowed.

I booked the hotel to spend the New Year’s Eve. We arrived there at 12:00 am to make check in because it’s normal in China to make early check in. The reception attendant said that the room was not ready, we needed to wait until 14:00. Ok, we came back at 14:10. Waited in a long line to make check in. In the end the receptionist said that the room was still not ready, asked us to wait more 30 minutes. At 15:00 we were able to enter the room. Seems like the reason for this problem was over booking, but the hotel is a 5 star hotel, I expected a better trea**ent. They didn’t offer anything to apologize. Apart of it, the room is good, nice view.

I have stayed at Youxi Movie Hotel at 242 Ju Lu Road, Shanghai, China about three and half weeks from 13th November to 5th December. I had a wonderful time there. It located at the central Shanghai and is close to many entertainment centres and tourist attractions and shopping centra. The staffs at Youxi Movie Hotel were very helpful and friendly and the service is excellent. It was very surprise to me that my room is very quiet at night and you can watch a film on the wall while you are in the bed. My room is quite big so once I had my friends came over to watch the movie and chatter. And this hotel is quite new and the my room is very clean too.

Although the room is not big but the facilities are complete. I walk in the old alleys every day to experience the life of old Shanghai. There are many places to eat in the surroundings, all with the taste of old Shanghai. It’s a short walk from People’s Square, and there is a grandmother who sells jasmine bracelets and magnolia flowers on the flyover not far from the entrance of the lane. The landlord is super enthusiastic. In the event of a typhoon, the landlord sent a message to remind us to be safe when traveling! Will come again in the future! Stay here again
