Amazing

The weather was nice, so the view from our room was amazing. We also had a delicious seafood kaiseki meal. There was an abundance of cypress trees, and there were several families fishing. The pier had a very hand-made feel to it, and the kids were running around happily and having fun.

The location and the food were excellent, and it felt like I'd found a hidden gem. The Shio-kake Matsuri fireworks display from the open-air bath was a surprise.

The bath, where the scent of cypress filled the building, was amazing. The food was delicious and there was a wide variety of options. We were able to go fishing before dinner and breakfast, and my husband was very satisfied as he caught rockfish, pufferfish, and horse mackerel. This is an inn we would definitely like to visit again.

We spent two nights here, and it's a lovely, quiet spot, right by the sea with a lovely view out over the bay. Our room was large, clean, and had a balcony and great view. We had dinner there one night, and it was very good - a large variety of fresh seafood, all served by the charming staff. The breakfast on both days was also very good and plentiful. The cypress baths were great, and the outdoor one was lovely. A friendly, relaxed place, and just a ten minute drive to nearby town (we came by train, and rented a car there).

Hiogiso is our best memory in Japan where we stayed for 3 weeks. We loved the place, the meals, the kindness of the staff, who really took care of us and were so smiley. We slept well, the room was comfortable, well equipped and spacious. The view was also incredible. The establishment is on the water so there are lots of crabs coming and going outside, it's lovely. The meals were incredible. We really enjoyed the sunset boat trip with the owner of the establishment. A charming, very classy man who spoke English quite well. We regret not having stayed longer because there are many places to visit around. Maybe next time...

Facing Ago Bay. A long-established inn. The building is divided into multiple buildings. I stayed at ``Hill Top Villa'' near the entrance. Is the flyer from the late Showa era? There was a detached house. It might be a good idea to stay here with your family in the summer. I stayed there around Christmas and it was cold. The special feature is the cypress bath that makes you feel as if you are floating on the sea. I have certainly visited various hot spring facilities, but I have never found a bath like this one. You can also do fishing. It was great to be able to enjoy the atmosphere of the ocean just by walking around the pier without fishing.
