Angkor Village Hotel - Small Luxury Hotels of the World

Siem Reap Wat Bo Area
Khmer style hotel. The old hotel was renovated in 2017. The rooms are clean but small, no TV, wooden rooms are generally soundproof, and the elderly can't sleep well at night. It should be not far from the old market. Breakfast is very ordinary, it should be said that there is nothing to eat except mango. The entire hotel has a poor sense of service, especially a pregnant woman at the front desk who is very proud and should not rest at home. I have never seen a waiter with a real sense of service, and a bad attitude towards Chinese people and foreigners. Describes poor hotel management! On the last day of the flight, our family had four adults, one child and four large suitcases. On the day of check-in, I specifically said that the number of people and the number of luggage should be dropped off with five SUVs! It ’s awesome! The three worst hotels in Siem Reap. The first one is the Golden Temple Boutique Hotel and the second one is a beige hotel. There is a big difference in single service. Customers who live in the service industry without the most basic service consciousness really won't recommend others. And there is a problem with the water in this hotel. Some previous comments said that the water smells rusty. I don't see any rust, but I always feel a layer of oil after washing my hands. After washing with soap or shower gel in the bathroom, it is still a layer of oil. I don't know what happened. What's more interesting is that this hotel has almost no hotel reviews in 2019, so let Ctrip help to confirm that no one answered the phone after the customer service contacted the hotel for two days. Really speechless, do not answer any hotel calls? Ctrip customer service is very active, follow up from time to time, hard work!

Angkor
The hotel has beautiful premises inside and outside. It's very clean, and the staff is exceptional. We enjoyed the breakfast very much and especially the noodle soup station where they make everything to your liking; also a variety of delicious bread. It's a good location, about 16 -18 minutes walk to the Pub street or you can take a tuk tuk as there are plenty of them. We preferred walking. We had dinner one night and lunch in the hotel's restaurant and the food was tasty. On arrival we asked to change our room to the one overlooking the garden and pool as the view in the front of the building overlooking the road wasn't that great. We had of course to pay the difference but it was much nicer. It's a shame that the hotel wasn't very full during our stay. We enjoyed staying 4 nights there and definitely would recommend this hotel.

Apologies in advance for the long review but hopefully it will contextualise the review title! Booked to stay for three nights, hotel reached out in advance to arrange airport transfer (no charge) and my transfer was there ready and waiting when I landed with water and a cold towel. Arrived at the hotel and received a lovely welcome drink and nibbles. Staff were extremely warm and friendly, taking lots of time to explain everything about the hotel. The room was clean and of a very good standard, I’d deliberately opted for a room that wasn’t pool facing as I suspected it would be quieter facing away from the road. Reality is I don’t know for sure if there was any real difference but the room was very quiet and comfortable. Can’t say I missed the pool view. Room had very good Wi-Fi so was able to work one morning. Air con super effective. Netflix on the tv. Great rain shower with lots of pressure. I had a sun-rise tour booked so the hotel arranged a takeaway breakfast of my choice for me. Again ready at the time they said it would be (4am as per my request). The spa in the hotel (read massages and treatment) was brilliant. Can’t again rate it more highly and would definitely recommend. For us foreigners it’s incredibly affordable compared to back home. Complimentary lunch organised by the hotel was also superb. Hotel is within walking distance (5 mins) to the more touristy food streets and markets. Area felt extremely safe. Return airport transfer (again free) exactly on time as agreed. Honestly you can’t take clear communication and hotel organisation for granted. Thank you to all the team at the hotel for an amazing stay. You were all fantastic and I wish you all every success!
Grange

What a find. We absolutley loved staying at The Grange. The staff and the General Manager Dom are all so friendly and accomadating. The rooms are gorgeous and very clean. The food is outstanding which include vegetarian and gluten free options with fresh juices and delicious fruit plates on offer. I also loved the complimentary bowl of nuts with kefir leaves offered to us throughout the day when we were lazing by the pool . The bar not only make superb cocktails ( the best Pinacolada I have ever had ) they also have a filtered water tap where the staff are happy to refill your water bottle as they are very eco conscious which is important to us. The staff are happy to organise Tuk Tuk drivers to take you to AnkorWat, Professional Day Spas for great massages, The Markets or any of the restuarants / shopping destinations you require. The Grange is a 20 min walk or a 5 minute tuk tuk ride into Pub St so its close to everything yet far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet. The roof top offers a serene space to enjoy sunrise or sunset especially if you take a yoga mat and the pool is deep enough to do an aqua aerobic workout OR you can just laze around on your balcony in the gown and slippers provided and have room service deliver a nice cocktail or a bottle of French Redwine while enjoying whatever view your room has. We will definately stay here again. Actually, we will only stay here on our next trip to Siem Reap. Thankyou once again to Dom and all the wonderful staff for your incredible hospitality and making us feel like family. Warmest Regards Janelle G

This has been a breathtaking stay at Waka Villas (7 star quality indeed). The private Villa with Pool and an interior of traditional mixed with modern minimalism and warmth, was ever so welcoming after long days on tours. Well situated only a few minutes by tuk tuk from the center of Siem Reap city where markets and intriguing streets allow for a wonderful experience among locals. We want to thank the entire Staff especially Manager Mr. Okabe and our kindest Siem and Kim for being always one step ahead of our needs. And our tour guide „Mr. T“ (Tola) who has a one of a kind way of explaining the history of Cambodia with so much fun we ended up retelling his stories to our families! Encouraging us to think about what we see and understand the bountiful kindness of the Cambodian people. Thank you for introducing us to Cambodia with so much love. Looking forward to booking here again!

Big sturdy 3* hotel. Old fashioned oak in bedrooms. A little run down but did the job. Like bathroom toilet roll holder very tarnished. Also bathrobes in wardrobe dirty with stains. Good choice for breakfast but same every day. Very good quiet location. 5 mins to walk over bridge to night market and pub street. My room at back of hotel so very quiet. Didn’t care I didn’t get a view. Just wanted quiet. They organised airport pick up and temple travel. Early take away breakfast was also given to me without asking for my 4:30am temple sunrise visit! Nice surprise. Overall good value for money in good location but needs some love.
