2-Star Hotels in Kaohsiung

The place was very clean and the staff were kind, polite, and spoke English well. They explained everything clearly from the beginning and gave me a full tour of the property. There is a dining area, and before taking the elevator, you need to change your shoes. Each guest has a room number and should place their shoes in the matching shoe rack. I recommend adding the hotel’s Line account — they will send all the details there. No key is needed to access the room; everything is done using codes. The room is spacious and has a large locker for storage. The shared bathroom was clean and fully equipped with essentials like a toothbrush and towels (including small ones). There is also a modern laundry area that connects two parts of the building through the same door — it feels like one place, not two. It’s about a 5-minute walk from the BTS station, which is very convenient. The only downside is that the entrance was confusing when I first arrived. The map pin showed a laundromat, but the actual entrance is on the back side of the building. Overall, a great stay. I recommend it.

1. Location (5 stars): Located near Kaohsiung Dome and Ruifeng Night Market, it is a lively area, and it is convenient to eat or go shopping. 2. Price (3 stars): The price of a double room during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday is more than 4,500. In terms of CP value, I think it is much more expensive. 3. Service (5 stars): The service staff is very kind and patient, and will help deal with any response problems. 4. Cleanliness (3 stars): There are cockroaches on the floor of the room, and there are flying insects that don't know what they are, not small. 5. Parking space (3 stars): There are only two free positions in front of the hotel entrance. It is first come first stop, but it is not a parking grid. For people who love cars, tourists will inevitably be afraid of cockroaches when entering and leaving; Other parking spaces have to go nearby to park in private parking at their own expense, about 300 a night (115 June price).

The location is convenient, right next to the MRT station. Although the bathrooms are shared, they are very clean and regularly maintained, with absolutely no odor. There are many shopping malls nearby, so eating and drinking are not a problem. Famous attractions are about a ten-minute walk away, making it highly recommended.

The 6F area with the kitchen is awesome! I didn't expect so many things. The place to hang the clothes is very convenient as well. But I was surprised to realize that the solo rooms are in the basement. On the post it on the key, the 1 next to B was written very small and the 4 made me wonder if I was on the 4th floor at first. It got me confused because 4F would have meant an F and not a B (for the basement). Since they do not have a 4th floor, though, it became obvious I had to go down. The elevator doesn't go down there, though. I also heard people use the hairdryer around midnight three nights in a row. The walls/doors are really thin so you can hear it all. I would recommend potentially putting a note to ask guests not to use the hairdryer after 10 or 11PM for other guests? I find it a bit disrespectful but it might be a culture shock (and doesn't impact the service of the place overall, not their fault people do that!) {Of course you can also bring and wear earplugs when you go to sleep so you won't hear your neighbors either.}

The location is super convenient, with a bar and restaurant right downstairs for a relaxing drink. The room is spacious and beautifully decorated, giving an overall comfortable vibe. The only minor issue is that the bed frame is a bit old, and if you move too much, it creaks. So, if your partner is a light sleeper, you might want to keep that in mind! The room comes with tea bags and capsule coffee, and there's a water dispenser on the R floor, which is a great bonus. Towels are provided, but remember to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste!

Good location, walking distance to formosa interchange which connects the redline to airport, highspeed rail, ruifeng night market and yellowline to the pier area to access qijin island. There is even a night market liouhe which is only 1min walk away! I actly liked this small night market more than the large ruifeng one as there are many tables to sit down and eat. Breakfast and self service washing machines are available too. And extension only costs 150NTD per hour.. very convenient. Only bad thing was lack of plugs. See third image. Whole room only had these sockets and they are too close such that it is viable to only use 1 plug at a time.

I recently stayed at Ox Suites in the Yancheng district of Kaohsiung, and it was an exceptional experience. Ron and his wife run a fantastic little serviced apartment that’s clean, modern, and minimalist, yet equipped with everything you might need—and more. The apartment was spotless, and the minimalist design made it feel spacious and comfortable. Ron went above and beyond by providing a comprehensive list of things to do in the Yancheng area, which was incredibly helpful. If you only have three nights, like I did, you’ll find plenty to keep you busy just in Yancheng and nearby Cijin. Their recommendations were spot on, and they were always just a message away if I needed anything or had any questions. The location is also a major plus. It’s just a short walk to Yancheng station on the orange line, making it easy to get around. You can easily reach the hotel with just one change of train line from the HSR Station. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and will definitely be back the next time I’m in Kaohsiung. Highly recommended!

The accommodation is decent, but there aren't many dining options nearby. If you don't have high expectations and just want a place to sleep for the night, it's a reasonably affordable choice.

Pet-friendly, and the setting was decent. It was quite unique being tucked away in an old building. However, the amenities weren't fully stocked. Given it's pet-friendly and we booked last-minute, I couldn't really complain about that. But the lady at the front desk was incredibly warm and friendly!

The location is great for transit, eating and shopping. The rooms are ample, nicely decorated, felt new and clean. Breakfast is good and there are complimentary steamed buns, juices, coffee, teas and ice cream available at any hour. Staff are friendly. They speak little or no English, but that’s not a problem with translation apps. Only issues are weak wifi that only worked on the ground floor and not consistently, and the fact that cigarette smoke sometimes travels either through the ventilation system or because the doors don’t close tightly. Sound also travels but guests were discreet so that was not an issue. The hotel isn’t suited for anyone with mobility issues as there is a step to the front door, another to reception and three more to the elevator. No ramps. There is even a step from the bedroom to the bathroom. Very odd. Overall a very good stay.
