JJacksonlanziziCheck-in convenience: A good location in the city.
Safety: Pretty good.
Facilities and cleanliness: Very clean, not only the room, but also the toilet and bathroom.
Overall, it's a very good hotel. There's even a swimming pool!!!
Btw, the ceilings are very high. I stayed on the first floor, on the upper bunk, and it felt like both the upper and lower bunks were 1.8 meters high, giving me plenty of space.
AA.BatiukWe had a very pleasant stay at Artemis Apartments. The location is wonderful - just a short walk to the beach, and many shops and restaurants nearby. We loved how close everything was, yet the place feels quiet and peaceful.
The apartment itself was clean, comfortable and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful (many thanks to Nikos) -always ready to assist with anything we needed.
Breakfast was good, though fairly simple and similar from day to day. But I suspect this is because it’s off-season.
Some things stood out: the WiFi worked well most of the time, the pool area is lovely and well-maintained, and the value for money is excellent.
DDolce farnienteEverything is perfect. From the initial contact to the last day.
The flat is fully equipped to have everything you need for your stay.
The cleanliness deserves a special mention, impeccable and daily.
I highly recommend it!
GGrimI knew as soon as I heard goats with their little bells on that I’d like this place. Quiet, quaint, country accomodation on the way to Samaria Gorge.
The family who run it were all lovely, and mum even made me up a picnic to take on the hike before dad gave us a lift to the starting point.
Maybe it’s because it never happens back home, but I ordered a beer downstairs upon arrival, and got given free olives - that made my absolute day and, though previously incorruptible, my loyalty was bought instantly and totally.
I also had the rabbit fry up thingo, which tasted great, although the salad itself was even better, though it curse my carnivorous tongue to say it.
The bedroom had a great balcony for looking out over the green and rocky hills. Bed was super comfy, and it actually was a little colder way up in the Omalos elevation (in June) which made sleep come very easily for those like me who run hot. Big fluffy blanket in the cupboard though for those of you who like to be warmer.
The bathroom is a bit small and being on the tall end of the height spectrum I had to be wary not to knock myself out on the hand basin when using the toilet. But if you’re under 6 foot you’ll patting your genetics on their small back.
The building is relatively old so expect to hear some footfalls as other guests go past your room, but other than that, blissfully quiet overnight.
The daughter of the family speaks really good English which helped a couple times, when regretfully I seemed to have forgotten all my Greek (which I rudely hadn’t learned prior to arriving).
I can’t recommend this homely hotel enough, so if you’re on your way to hike the gorge, park your car here and stay the night. Then stay in Agia Romelli at the very end of the hike. Then come back to Omalos the next day and get some home style cooking back into your weary body.
Or whatever floats your ferry.
WWangxielanchengThere are two major cities on Crete: Heraklion, where Western civilization originated, and Kania, which was invaded by other empires. Because the next choice from Crete to Santorini by boat, the port of Iraklión can start, so choose to take the boat from Athens to Kanya, then from Kanya bus to Heraklión.
Considering that I have to take the bus for the next 2 days, I chose this hotel close to the bus station Chania Bus Station and walked less than 400 meters. Various facilities are better, some small problems are reflected to the hotel in time, and can be dealt with quickly. If you want to go to various places around, the front desk will also be enthusiastic to provide information. Kannia is very small, many places such as the Venice lighthouse and the old town next to the lighthouse can be reached in 20 minutes.
The hotel has a special place: from the balcony facing the north, next to the town's cemetery, and next to the cemetery is the basketball court and other residential buildings. The locals do not feel any special, but we are tourists who feel strange.
In short, the price is good, recommended.
KKetevaniIt’s located a little far from paleiochora , you definitely need to rent a car , cuz there is not a bus station near the hotel. Breakfast and personal are good . They don’t have wash machine you need to go to city for laundry. Average hotel price was ok.
