We did not stay here, only came for lunch on the recommendation of several people. This place's restaurant was bad. The only thing going for it was the view. The service was not good, the servers didn't seem to care. When it started raining on us, we had to move our own table and drinks to go under cover. They had a large menu, but they had almost none of the food on the menu. You would expect seafood, but they didn't have MOST of the seafood they claimed (including the item marked on their "daily special" board. We ended up ordering chicken dishes (grilled chicken and chicken tika), but what we got was some kind of children fried and smother in a spiced sauce, not what we asked for. We heard that a new company is going to be taking over management, so perhaps the current company doesn't care anymore--who knows, don't go here.

Lunch in Stonetown met een fried chicken Rice en een fish curry op een roof terras. Eten was super lekker. Heerlijk even bijkomen. Met een colaatje en een biertje voor 45 dollar. Toilet had iets schoner gemogen. Mooie oude foto’s langs de trap naar boven.

The dirtiest, worst maintained establishment I have ever seen. The toilet was leaking water all over the floor. This was clearly not a new issue due to the water stains all over the floor, it has been leaking for some time. The plaster on the walls and ceiling is flaking and crumbling. Everything was covered in flakes of dust, including the cups you’re given for tea (but not provided with a kettle), and the floor was filthy. The bathroom is in a state of disrepair, it was leaking and mouldy and stank of drains. The shower was simply a mess. The water from the taps and shower came out salty, which was very bizarre. The bedsheets were stained and the duvet was just on the bed without a duvet cover or sheet covering it. The towels were extremely old and threadbare and also stained. The breakfast wasn’t a buffet, we were offered omelette, pancakes, or French toast, and fruit. It was ok. However the coffee was served in filthy cups and saucers and had things floating in it.

African Angel House Outstanding service that makes you feel like you are family. Angel is a wonderful person who cares about your experience. We were lucky enough to have her chaperone us for the day making sure we maximized our time in Stone Town. The place is very centrally located next to a cool music school which we enjoyed seeing perform. Though not for high end travelers, the room is small, but great value for the money. She obviously worked hard with nice touches to upgrade the place since it was a small hole in the wall apartment complex. You feel like you are part of the community living next door to people. Nice shower and bath, with comfortable bed and air conditioning which you need in Zanzibar. Definitely recommend African Angel House.

Valoro el restaurante que fue lo único que hice. Probé uno de los platos típicos del lugar y bastante bien, también pedimos arroz y pizza, más cocacola. El precio 49€ al cambio, lo cual lo hace un sitio para turistas. Servivio de camareras bueno, y raciones aceptables.

Ich habe noch niemals zuvor in so einem abartig dreckigem Hotel übernachtet. Das sog. Badezimmer komplett verschimmelt . Die Bettwäsche dreckig, alles was man angefasst hat hat geklebt vor Dreck. Dieses sog. Hotel gehört gesperrt . Einfach nur widerlich.

In the first room that they put me in, the window could not close and there was no lock on it. Also, the air conditioner did not work with the temperature in the high twenties/loe thirties. On the second day, the moved me to a room where the shower did not work and the toilet seat was not bolted to the toilet. All in all, i would say it was backpacker accommodation at Holiday Inn prices. I have been traveling in Tanzania for 15 years, and have stayed in $5 and $10 rural hotels, so i am not a complainer, but this is probably the worst value for money that i have encounyered.

The location and view are great but the hotel is in desperate need of repairs, it is dirty and the breakfast is very poor
