It is a formal hotel that can stay at a reasonable price, although it is a little far from the station. Because I used it on a trip to sanuki Udon, it was good to be able to access the famous shop where the procession can be made in taga town on foot (２０ minutes) after the first walk in the morning. My husband and I chose the Uno Hotel because we wanted easy access to the art islands in the Seto Inland Sea. Hotel is a 3 or 4 minute easy walk to Uno Port which is the gateway to those islands. And ferry ride only about 15 minutes one-way. We expected the art islands to be great but this is a new hotel so we took a chance. Wow, what a wonderful experience on every level; the room, hotel team, restaurant, and the food was exceptional. The Uno Hotel is also within a 1 minute walk to a building which houses Onsen (hot springs baths and spa) and a Japanese restaurant, which they also own. (We did not have time to explore those but heard great things.) I could rave about the restaurant in the hotel called “Bluno” for days….we enjoyed breakfasts and dinners there - each superb with great attention-to-detail. A special treat was meeting restaurant manager Mr. Aran Teruo Pascual. He was kind, professional and personally makes one want to return in addition to the food and contemporary bright setting. The front desk team is warm, welcoming and attentive. When making a reservation I noticed there are multiple hotels or inns that have the name “Uno” in it so my suggestion is that you note that it is the Uno Hotel. I recommend higher floor on the water side, the hotel is not on the water, but lovely view. We look forward to returning.
