I really really enjoy my stay. It’s a family run hotel, and has a very welcoming atmosphere. The hotel is about 2-3 minutes walk from the bus terminal, super convenient. Because of my tattoos, I chose the room with a private onsen. The room is super nice and spacious. My booking also came with breakfast and dinner, and the meals were delicious! I would definitely come back if I visit Hirayu onsen again.

Very conveniently located Ryokan. Free parking on site and close proximity to the coach stop for Kamikochi. You cannot drive into Kamikochi so the coach is the main way in. The room itself is old, but roomy, clean and fully functioning. There is no view from the natural hot spring in the hotel but there is both an indoor and outdoor section. Facilities weren't crowded when we were there. The dinner and breakfast provided was wonderful. Such a feast. Overall great experience.

Great traditional tatami bed and traditional onsen experience on Hiratakan. Staff are polite, helpful and reachable. Purchase breakfast with hotel. Traditional breakfasts for 2 days are different, taste great and quite nutritious.

The B&B is very clean, even to the point of mysophobia. Shoes and slippers must be placed very neatly when entering the B&B and dining. There is a sauna, and breakfast and dinner are very rich, but the price is a bit high.

The room was quite clean. This time when I went to Japan, I found that Japanese-style rooms are still large. The tatami can be folded up during the day, so it is quite comfortable. The hot spring is not big, there is one indoor and one outdoor, but there are not many people. I took my child to soak twice, both times alone, but the water temperature is a bit high. The hotel is very close to the station, about 3 minutes walk, which is convenient for Kamikochi, but some roads in Kamikochi are closed, and there are many people, so the experience is average.

Although the equipment is slightly older, it is very clean. The service is also very attentive and comfortable. It is very suitable to stop here for a night's rest after walking around Kamikochi.

There is no coffee provided because I saw a non-working coffee machine on the first floor 😂 Very clean, the food is exquisite. My friend can't eat seafood because he is taking Chinese medicine, so I considerately changed it to beef. The hot spring is small, and there is an outdoor one. There is a free foot bath at the door, and I soaked my feet there when I was waiting for check-in time. It is very close to the station and you can go hiking in Kamikochi.

It's a very traditional old Japanese-style room. We booked a room with a hot spring, so we can take unlimited baths in the room. After bathing, our skin will be smooth and super comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast are traditional Japanese set meals, both of which are very rich. The A5 grade Hida beef for dinner is large, tender and super delicious.

Good location, very close to Shinhotaka Ropeway. Cheap price. Very good value for money. Simple stay for one night. There is a natural hot spring at the door. The town is relatively quiet. Suitable for hot springs.

Although there aren't many reviews, we booked late and didn't have many other options. The experience turned out to be surprisingly good. After walking for three minutes from the station, you change into leather slippers after entering the hotel gate. There are also special slippers for children. The Japanese-style room is clean and comfortable, and the experience is very good. I slept on the tatami at night and it was very pleasant. I felt refreshed in the morning. We had high-quality Hida beef for dinner. After a long walk in the village, we could take a dip in the large bath when we came back. The water in the indoor bath was too hot and I squirted for a long time before I sat down. The temperature of the outdoor water was very comfortable, so I gritted my teeth and rushed out. Just sit down. The open-air footbath at the door, steaming hot springs and natural waterfalls coexist. Eat breakfast and take a dip in the morning, it’s so cool!

There were only two groups of guests on the night of check-in, so the hot springs were almost exclusive. The hot spring water in Hirayu was really amazing. My skin was smooth after soaking in it. You can take a dip in the outdoor pool while watching the stars, and it happened to snow when we went there. It was so romantic! Dinner and breakfast are very delicious. They are all local specialties: Hida beef, miso and beef curry. The proprietress is very attentive and the food is also introduced in English. The only drawback is that the portions are not very big (the pictures are just a few of the dishes, there are actually many dishes, but each dish is a small portion) The hotel is very hygienic and clean. Although it is a bit old, it is well maintained. I particularly like this traditional Japanese hotel. Lying on the tatami under the soft quilt, I will think of the scene of Maruko and her sister sleeping at night. Sleep well.
