The hotel in the middle of the moutain. Indeed!!!
The hotel is just short walk from the bus stop. Room was huge, well equiped with amenities. They also provide the skin care as well. The hotel dinner was really good. It was the japanese course with free flow drink. (Sake, Fruit liquir, beer, soft drink). There are a lot of activities inc. Walking on Midagahara wetlands, stargage (japanese only). The hotel is just next to Midagahara wetland which you can enjoy the view of seacloud in the evening and the stunning view of glassland and the mountain in the morning. 10 of 10.
For anyone travelling along the Tateyama Alpine route, I would highly recommed a stay on the mountain so you can enjoy the scenery without rushing. We love Ryokan (Traditional Japanese Inn) because they always offer delicious course meals (dinner & breakfast) and a public bath. We even enjoyed a free flow of local sake and liquor at dinner! The Midagahara Hotel even offer hiking guides, boots and stargazing guides after dinner. It was a shame that we did not take the hiking trail due to the weather condition (foggy and low visibility), but the stargazing part did not disappoint - we were able to see a sky full of stars by our bare eyes. If we could withstand the cold we could have seen the Milky Way. The hotel shop also offers a wide range of local specialties. We had a nice sleep in our Japanese style room and woke up to a sea of clouds. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the Tateyama Alpine route.

The hotel is very close to the station, and the walking trail is right next to the hotel, and the walking trail is very suitable for people who don't get enough exercise on weekdays. We were lucky enough to see the sea of clouds, blue sky, and stars as we approached mid-October, which was very touching. Coffee is served in the lobby after 3pm, and the quality of dinner and buffet breakfast is surprisingly good. It was the first time I encountered free flow of dinner drinks! The staff are very friendly and polite, and their English level is unexpectedly higher than other cities in Japan, making it easy to communicate with ease. Please note that some rooms do not have private bathrooms.

The location of the hotel is very good. It is 2 minutes away from the Midoyuan bus. The Midoyuan Plain Hiking Trail starts from the hotel, which is very convenient. The hotel service is attentive, and galoshes and crutches are placed at the door for hotel guests to use when hiking. The food in the hotel was very good and the hot springs were great. I had a great day. Thanks

The overall hardware facilities and hotel staff make people feel at home. The food and beverages at Yubo Ershi are abundant, especially the wine buffet in the evening, which is very popular. The surrounding trails make it easy to walk around and experience the feeling of being in harmony with nature. It is worth recommending to stay.

The hotel in the scenic area is located halfway up the mountain. All rooms face Midahara, and you can see the Sea of Japan and Toyama City. The location is invincible. The Tateyama Hotel in Murodo is suitable for hiking. It is suitable for bringing parents and children. The hotel is a bit old, and the front desk only speaks Japanese, but now it has AI translation. It is very patient and communication is no problem. The room is relatively old, but it has four beds and the family had a good rest. Half board and dinner drinks are free, and I tasted several local wines. You can take a hot spring bath in the large bathhouse♨️, stargazing at night, and you can take pictures of the Milky Way with an ordinary mobile phone. The disadvantage is that the wifi signal in the room is a bit weak.

The hotel is located in the middle of the mountain, with a good view, but you have to take a traffic car to get there. I booked a breakfast and dinner package. The meals are good, especially the dinner. You can drink freely, which is something very few hotels can do.

Amazing for such a remote location! The room could accommodate a family (rare for Japan). The hotel is located at approximately 2000m, and there are a few hikes you can do in the area, before you head to the top of the mountain for the more serious ones. If your shoes or clothes get wet, there's a drying room in the basement. The dinner was incredible, I didn't think you could really have that on the mountain. I would love to return.

Visited in June 2019. The hotel was clean and satisfied all our basic needs during our stay there. Didn't give a 5* because the furniture was a little dated. He meals were delicious and the staff members were professional and friendly. Would stay there again if l were to visit again.

We wanted to see the sea of clouds, so we chose the Midagahara Hotel, where the chances of seeing them are high. We also chose a room facing the Toyama Plain, which has a great view. When we arrived, the sky was cloudy and it felt like we were inside the clouds. We were disappointed and had given up, but we were surprised when the sea of clouds appeared at dinner time! It was just as the sun was setting, so we enjoyed the amazing view while eating dinner. It was like a show. We could even see the Noto Peninsula in the distance. The twilight remained even after we returned to our room, so we enjoyed the sea of clouds at the magic hour. The food was very delicious. The Toyama beef shabu-shabu was the best. Alcohol was free to drink during meals, so we could enjoy our drinks. The breakfast buffet was also delicious. There were also events such as walking tours of Midagahara, evening video screenings, and star-gazing parties, which we enjoyed.

The hotel I stayed at this time had the most relaxing scenery and atmosphere on the Alpine Route, and the bath was also very impressive. As for the food, the dinner is luxurious and original with rare ingredients! The breakfast at the hotel was of a very satisfying standard, with healthy snacks, handmade tofu, freshly baked bread, medicinal gayu, trout sushi, and a dessert buffet. The customer service employees were also kind and happy. Of all the hotels in Tateyama I've visited so far, it was by far the best! I will definitely go again.
