Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo

Shinjuku Area Tokyo|0.26km from Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building - Tokyo Tourist Information Center
Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo offers a luxurious and comfortable stay in the heart of Japan's bustling capital. Boasting a prime location in Shinjuku, this hotel provides easy access to shopping, dining, and entertainment. Also, it is walking distance to various lines making traveling easier. The hotel is 34 storey high. The panoramic views from higher floors with the huge window, especially overlooking the iconic Mount Fuji from a distance makes it a memorable stay. There are also dining places at Keio Plaza Hotel offering Japanese, international, and fusion cuisine. There is also a convenience store at level 2 that close at 2am for those who want to get some small bites, snacks or drinks. It is huge and because it’s located in the hotel, shelves are pretty filled up. The hotel's facilities, include a well-equipped fitness center and a relaxing pool (didn’t get to try as it is winter). The attention to cleanliness and maintenance throughout the property adds to the sense of comfort and well-being. There is also 2 in 1 washing machine with dryer at L18 at the south tower for usage starting from 500yen, depending on what the features you would like it to be, best of all, it comes with detergent. What truly sets Keio Plaza Hotel apart is its exceptional service. The staff is known for their professionalism, attentiveness, and hospitality, ensuring that guests feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout their stay. The attention of all the staffs to detail from check in and amenities reflects the commitment to providing a high-quality experience for guests. While the hotel's location in the vibrant Shinjuku district provides easy access to entertainment and transport, it's worth noting that the immediate surroundings can be bustling, reflecting Tokyo's energetic pace. However, once inside the hotel, guests can enjoy a serene and tranquil escape. In summary, Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo stands out as a premium accommodation choice, offering a perfect blend of luxury, convenience, and impeccable service. Whether you're a business traveler or a tourist exploring Tokyo, this hotel provides a refined retreat in the heart of the city.
Park Hyatt Tokyo

Park Hyatt Tokyo

Shinjuku Area Tokyo|0.42km from Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building - Tokyo Tourist Information Center
Booked a deluxe king for 5 nights through the Hyatt website. The hotel is very large and the common areas are large, beautiful, and decorated in a very classy manner. Views are amazing from pretty much everywhere. The gym is well equipped and maintained. The swimming pool is smaller than I imagined and yes, you do need to reserve a time to use it. The hallways on the floors where the rooms are were quite dimly lit with dark wallpaper. I would say these hallways could use some updating in terms of the decor. The location of the hotel is a bit out of the way as the closest metro station (Shibuya) is a 15-20 minute walk. I usually ended up taking the bus or a cab to the station, or when it was early - walked. The shuttle wasn't all that frequent so I never took it. Check-in was very service oriented with someone leading me from the lobby to the check-in desk and giving me the low-down on the hotel. Actual check-in took took longer than I had hoped but I had just come from a 16 hour flight and really just wanted to go to sleep. As a Hyatt Explorist, I was upgraded to a larger corner room with more light. At first, they said they were willing to offer me the room at a special rate and when I said no thanks, they just upgraded me for free. I felt this was weird as you either have the availability to upgrade someone with elite status, or you don't. The room was large by Tokyo standards with lots of windows. I didn't find the decor staid as other reviewers have noted. I would say the decor is classic and refined. I've been to Tokyo several times already so I actually spent a bit of time in the room in the morning before heading out. It was a good amount of space to spread out, have some room service, and just relax. There are power plugs near the bed for those of us who like to charge their phone nearby. TV channels are limited though and there is no way to cast streaming services from your phone. The bathroom has a Dyson hair dryer which I enjoyed. Housekeeping was consistently great. The room was always clean, toiletries replenished, and requests were always delivered promptly. I had the breakfast buffet the first morning I was there and then room service every morning after as it doesn't cost any more than eating in the restaurant. The buffet was great and I would recommend trying it at least once. You get to order one main egg dish or french toast/pancakes and then there is the buffet. The spread wasn't as large as other hotels/resorts I've been to but everything there was high quality and delicious. Oftentimes, larger buffets have a mix of decent food and just edible filler stations. But everything here was really good. All of the food stations were actually very small as the kitchen kept replacing them with fresh food. Room service was always delivered quickly and set up perfectly. I ordered the Japanese breakfast one morning (it's the only breakfast available for delivery at 6am) which was tasty but kind of left me a bit hungry. All other mo

Tokyu Stay Nishi Shinjuku

Tokyu Stay Nishi Shinjuku

Shinjuku Area Tokyo|0.48km from Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building - Tokyo Tourist Information Center
First the positives and then a negative. Great location, about 15 min walk to bustling central Shinjuku. Family Marts etc., eateries all around and metro 2 min walk away. The area is perfect as it's quieter, even close to a lovely park and all amenities at your door. Besides needing a good dust and coffee marks wiped off the wall, the hotel is clean and comfortable. There is free coffee and toiletries in the reception area the included washing machine/dryer in the room was a huge plus. YOU WILL NOT GET EARLY ROOM ACCESS EVEN IF YOUR BAGS ARE WAITING IN YOUR ROOM. We arrived early morning knowing we would not be able to check in until the afternoon so staff stored our luggage as expected. When we arrived back at the hotel at about 1:30pm and our bags were nowhere to be found the receptionist informed us they had already been taken to our room as the room was ready. Excited about finally getting access to a shower and some rest after a long flight we anticipated this meant we would be able to enter the room. The receptionist then left to speak to who I imagine is a manager only to come back and tell us check in is at 3pm so we have to wait until then and if we wanted to access the room early it would cost 1,000 yen per person. I know check in stated 3pm but I found this to be exceptionally poor customer service. Seeing as our bags were already in the room it would have made absolutely no difference to the hotel for us to enter the room 1 1/2 hours early but instead the rigid rule left quite a very negative impression. We did end up getting access at 2:30pm only because an elderly Japanese gentleman wanted to check in at this time and they didn’t want to make him wait in the lobby. The negative experience is such a shame because had this not have occurred I would return on my next trip.

Kadoya Hotel

Shinjuku Area Tokyo|0.42km from Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building - Tokyo Tourist Information Center
4.5 stars! My spouse, son, and I have previously stayed at Kadoya in December 2019. I was delighted with our most recent stay in February 2023. Last time, I booked a triple bed room. This time I booked a ”Fourth Standard - 2 king beds (Universal Design Type -B” room. What a terrific room. The tv set was massive! Even I had to grin at the size of the tv screen. There was a ledge behind the bed which was convenient to put cups on during our evening beverages. We also used the ledge to place our cellphones on overnight as they charged. Ample electrical plugs. The room has a small fridge to keep drinks cool. A microwave is located in the laundry room. The laundry room also has two washing machines and two dryers. All coin operated. There is also a vending machine in the laundry room. Handrails in the shower/tub of the bathroom much appreciated. Staff at Kadoya that I encountered were very pleasant and helpful. I requested front desk staff to kindly print out documents and they did so without hesitation. Housekeeping staff is friendly and promptly brought me towels and extra wooden hangers when requested. Daily housekeeping service. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash all had a pleasant fragrance. We were provided with feather-free pillows and feather-free duvets given our allergies. Room was clean. Ample space for 4 luggages. Excellent location. Close to Shinjuku station. Several dining options nearby. Pharmacy nearby. 24 hour Lawson convenience store next door. Another Lawson across the street. Travel tip: We arrived at Kadoya using the Airport Limousine Bus which departed from Narita. I chose the Keio Plaza Hotel instead of the Shinjuku stop as it is closer to Kadoya. Get off at the Keio Plaza stop and walk through the lobby. Leave the Keio Plaza hotel and walk 2 blocks to Kadoya. When going to Narita, in order to get to Narita quicker I booked the Airport Limousine Bus to depart from Shinjuku as the earliest bus leaving from Keio Plaza hotel was not early enough for me. Catch the bus from Bus Stop 23 located right in front of the Airport Limousine Bus ticketing office, to the left of Keio department store. Currently, Airport Limousine Bus routes and schedules are reduced. All in all a pleasant stay at Kadoya!

Hyatt Regency Tokyo

We were looking forward to return to Hyatt Regency because we enjoyed our stay back in December 2019 but was surprised to learn that the complimentary shuttle bus service was discontinued. We end up walking from Shinjuku station to the hotel. Again, we were informed by the reception that the Japanese breakfast was not available anymore due to the effect of the pandemic. I wanted to take a swim the following morning before heading out and was surprised to learn that the swimming pool was also closed. I might not stay in this hotel anymore next time since several of the service and facilities that were there before were removed.
Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo Premier Grand

Fantastic hotel in prime location in Shinjuku. We stayed on the Grand Premier levels which includes a really nice lounge with snacks and drinks and a private dining room which has a gorgeous breakfast of both western and eastern choices. LOVED breakfast. It's a huge hotel but has a huge staff to run it. Our room was large, it was quiet and the bed was comfortable. Best part is that Keio Plaza is on the Limousine Bus stop route but we didn't want to wait an hour for the next one from Haneda Airport so took the bus that stopped at Shinkjuki Station and it was truly a 5 minute walk from where the bus dropped us off. Get off the bus and turn left and walk straight and you will see the hotel. That easy. Taxis are inexpensive and plentiful in Tokyo. We had 4 people in our group and often it was worth it just to take taxis vs. the train but the train system was easy and the location to our hotel couldn't be beat.

As always, it is located in Shinjuku Business Center, which is very convenient to get in and out. The airport bus is directly accessible. It is 10 minutes walk from Shinjuku Nankou Station and only 10 minutes from the Xikou Business District. If you shop, Takashimaya, Odakyu, RUMINE, King Jing, YOTOBASIHICAMERA, etc. There are many restaurants around.

A very vibrant hotel especially during the night, a large desk for working at the lobby, however the room space was too small, once the luggage was opened there wasnt any room to walk. Cleanliness is superb, the bed and pillow was comfortable. Downside is too far walking from Shinjuku station.

I really loved this hotel. It was a stones throw away from the Shinjuku train station. The room, although very small was very comfortable and cosy. I'd recommend getting breakfast from the top floor. The food was delicious and a great start to the day, also the view from the top floor would just motivate you to go out and get ready to explore. When I am back in Tokyo I will be staying in this hotel again
