Great hotel. We were upgraded to a suite without asking! Everyone was very helpful, and breakfast! Great location. They arranged a taxi for us to go to BC FERRY. Told us approximately how long it would take. Even told us a few restaurants we were interested in. We would stay there again.

This was perfectly adequate for my one night stay prior to a cruise. The location is easily accessible from the train from the airport and less than a mile from the cruise terminal. It is no frills but clean. I had a shared bathroom which was a concern but it was fine. You share the bathroom with another room and you will hear them in there but, again, it was one night. There was a sink in the room which was good as you didn't need the bathroom for basic teeth brushing, etc. If I was doing an overnight in Vancouver again, I'd go back.

We were in town to attend a family birthday which did not include dinner so I chose this hotel because i wanted to go to the iconic Tiki Bar. Upon checking in we were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the room with mostly original decor still being used that gave it the iconic vibe. When we decided it was time to eat we found out from the desk girl that all the eating establishments at the hotel were closed for renovation. This should have been divulged at the time I booked; it is important information as there is no places close by to eat & the price of the room was not discounted to reflect the lack of facilities. We were also concerned about the safety of our vehicle but everything was fine & we were surprised how quiet it’s was (we were facing the rear parking area). The bed was comfy & we slept well.

The room was clean and the quality-price relation is well balanced, but the most valuable thing for us was how helpful was the guest service agent Claudia Salinas. We are so grateful for her great attention and huge help during our stay in the city. We didn’t have our plastic cards with us, so that we could only pay with Apple Pay (which is not a common payment method in Sandman hotel and is not allowed in other hotels of the city). However, Claudia figured it out and we could pay with Apple Pay. We also lost our camarera in a taxi and Claudia helped us to identity the taxi driver and thanks to that we could find our camera. She also has great recommendations for near lunch, breakfast and leisure options. Thanks a lot for everything Claudia! You were extremely helpful during our entire stay in Vancouver!!

I booked this hotel last minute after coming in from the US. The room had a beautiful skyline view and over all was a nice place to stay. the neighborhood felt less sketchy than a lot of places. I would definitely come back. I liked the parking as well. it gave me peice of mind knowing my car was being taken care of. 100% would recommend plus there’s a lot to do in the area!

The room is very comfortable, and the Chinese grandfather at the front desk named Sandy is very nice.

This hotel could be so much better, especially for the price. On the positive side, the staff, including the concierge, Lisa, and the whole crew on the G floor are outstanding - the most friendly and helpful people. My suite was comfortable and quiet. The king size bed was firm. The air conditioner works well. The bathroom is big. The hotel location is good, near museums and Yaletown, with restaurants and boutiques nearby. The gym and the pool area are also good and, not many hotels in the city have an outdoor pool. The negatives are the extreme neglect regarding renovation and cleaning. For example, with COVID still an issue, after I checked in and stayed the first night in the hotel, I found an empty bottle of water behind the sofa and an used and dirty shirt near the bed. I did not noticed it immediately, because I arrived at 2 am and went straight to bed. To get my room cleaned daily was an ordeal. The hotel apologizes for being understaffed, but the prices were high, around CAD $5.500 for a week’s stay. If you cannot deliver the service, you should not be charging for it, The carpets and the curtains look old, dirty and shabby in the room and common areas. But by far the worse things about the Hilton Vancouver are the elevators. It is not unusual to wait 15 minutes, I am not exaggerating, to go from your floor to the lobby. I understand there is a shortage of workers in Vancouver, but some of the disappointing features of the Hilton could, in my opinion, be addressed by management that cares and is committed to providing guests with what they deserve based on their rates.

You can reserve Cambie Hostel Gastown online (recommended, about $29/night, w/small deposit about 15%) I am a Travel Advisor, traveling and booking travel is my job. I book 4 and 5 Star hotels, cruises, land tours and more, but found when I go on a cruise to Alaska and starting my cruise in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada l like hanging out downtown Vancouver. Vancouver is beautiful, lots to do, and Cambie Hostel Gastown is close to the cruise port (walking distance, with 1 rolling luggage, about 5 blocks), safe, with great bars and restaurants. If you take Greyhound, the bus station is a block from the rail (2 bucks for seniors, I am 65), go north towards Cambie Hostel Gastown, at stop walk about 5-6 blocks (or take taxi). Once you are there, make sure your credit card was cleared with bank (call ahead and let them know you are traveling abroad, if required), pay, get keys, drop bags in room, then go out and enjoy all that Vancouver has to offer. Cambie Hostel is attached to a bar, party on, with young travelers from all around the world, so enjoy interacting with them during your stay. I am going back in 3 wks for another Alaska cruise. I stayed here for two nights recently for my trip to Vancouver. This was a last-minute booking and my first time here. I chose this hotel over the other I had previously stayed in just for the location. The location is a roughly 5-10min walk to Granville street Skytrain. The location also offers a lot of restaurants nearby and 7-11 and McDonald's which are 24hr if you are hungry in the middle of the night. When I arrived it was just at 11 am and they had my room ready and let me check in early which was nice. The room itself was really small but okay just for one person. The only things I didn't like were the pillows heart my neck being so big and the small shower with a rain head, very inconvenient when you don't want to get your hair wet.....right ladies!!! For sleep quality it was okay, my room faced the Staples right on Seymour it was quite a noisy street to be on so just beware. To note I had only booked for the night but ended up having to stay another the hotel offered me a better rate than what I had originally booked on Expedia for roughly $10 or something less and then also offered me a late check-out.

The hotel service is very good! We chose to stay in the hotel because the local temperature was too high, so the whole city was full on that day, and they lacked staff, which delayed the check-in time for a while. But the front desk was also very sincere and helped me upgrade my room for free, and also provided free parking (all hotels in downtown Vancouver pay a high price for parking). When I checked out the next day, because the temperature had not yet dropped, I also helped me to delay the check-out time to 2 o'clock. The rooms are also neat and clean, and the air conditioning is also very cool. Overall very satisfied!
