A lot has changed since we were there 8 years ago. Instead of ONYX-BAR there is now a restaurant. The breakfast buffet has also been abolished. I still like the rooms very much, only the water stain on the ceiling could have been renovated. Shortcoming was the third bed that was added, more like a camp bed model. The consumables were always replenished so we could make coffee whenever we wanted. I really appreciated that.

A family member found this hotel for seven of us and it was a brilliant choice for location. What was nice was they gave us the four rooms all together in a side wing and all the rooms were really large. We had a large separate lounge area which led to the bedroom and a lovely bathroom. The only thing I missed was tea/coffee making facilities, there was cups in the cupboard but that was it. We opted to have room only rather than bed and breakfast as we felt it was pricey and wouldn't really get value for money as we would have to eat quite a lot to get your moneys worth and some of us eat light first thing. We are glad we made this decision as literally two minutes from the hotel door is an excellent place where it suits all requirements serving hot breakfasts, fresh fruit and yogurts, cereal, croissants etc and very reasonably priced. We had planned to eat at different venues each morning but as this suited us all so well we ate there everyday except one day it was closed due to a national holiday there but there are plenty of places close by. If we go back I would do the same again this hotel and eat out for breakfasts.

First the location is so central and you can get anywhere very easily. The ring tram is one block from entry. The hotel and rooms are stunningly gorgeous. The room that we stayed in is so spacious. It had one bedroom, kitchenette, full dining room, entry and a full bath with walk-in shower and a second half bath. The bedding is very luxurious with soft down pillows and comforter. The blanket is also soft down and very comforting. The people working here are amazingly helpful and kind. All of them. Whoever does the hiring should be praised. Gunther is real gentleman and his only interest is to make our stay comfortable and welcome. His team at the front desk, Tamara, Franziska and new trainee, Ana are the day crew. The were so helpful in so many ways. Always available and willing to do anything and everything for us. The night crew, Yusef and Zeljko took care of a few minoradjustments even late as we were checkin in. Sasha and Kornel were in charge of greeting people at the door. They were such nice gentlemen. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Ashish was also really nice and helpful. I hope that I have not left anyone out because they all contributed to making sure our stay was so good. The people who took care of the rooms have done superb job. I had the good fortune to attend a private wine tasting in their cellar. For those who don’t know Palais Coburg actually has the largest wine collection of the greatest wines in the world. I cannot remember if it 30,000 or 60,000 bottles. Niklas who did the tour for me is a young sommelier who knows a lot. He also works in the 2 Michlin star restaurant on the premises. He guided me magnificently. He tells the whole story of the rebirth of Palais Coburg by the new owner. “You get treated like royalty staying here. We LOVED staying here.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in. From the moment we checked in, with a welcome drink and a great conversation with Dominic who gave us lots of tips tips and recommendations - to the incredible hotel room, just wow. They have really thought about every little detail, the interiors were beautiful, the bed was huge and so comfortable with the most amazing headboard. Beautiful big windows and a gorgeous view. Fluffy robes, a waterfall shower plus lots of mirrors and a vanity table. We also had drinks in the restaurant which was a very popular spot and again finished so beautifully. In addition to the above; the location perfect. Couldn’t recommend more

The duvet, the mattress protectors and the pillows are just the best. My teenage daughter did not want to get out of bed at all. The staff, especially the breakfast Staff were absolutely amazing. IRISH TEA!!. ! I’ve never had breakfast like that before in my life and obviously the free wine absolute bonus. I had asked three times at check in to clarify. Being Irish this was amazing I could’ve stayed in the hotel, the whole whole time. Oh the rain shower and Molton Brown products. Very high class hotel. OMG the roof top bar with complimentary cocktails

The service at the Marriott was excellent, the rooms were immaculate, there is a large indoor heated pool we enjoyed, there were lots of people at the front desk and it has a great location. The hop on hop off bus stops at the front door, it is walking distance to Mozart's house and the magnificent St. Stephen's cathedral, the hofburg with the imperial apartments, the Spanish riding school, cici museum, the royal Treasury with the crown jewels, and the Jewish museum. There are lots of fine shops and a variety of restaurants in the area as well as a pedestrian shopping area. We were disappointed with lunch at the Garden cafe but there are other places to dine. We will definitely return when we are in the area again.

The concierge helped book a seven-person car to visit the farther attractions such as Schönbrunn Palace. The driver was very nice and there was no additional charge for the timeout.

Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, the hotel has a long history, was established in 1600, the hotel service level is high, breakfast is good. There is a Hop on Hop off city tour bus route nearby, and the Metro Sweden Square Station is within a 10-minute walk of the hotel. If you want to drive by yourself, you should pay attention, because the parking space in Vienna is really tight. I happened to have a parking space (26 euros for one night) to stop the car.

This is a nice old style, old world hotel with big bedrooms and a nice position just a 15 to 20 minute walk into the center. All the staff were fantastic couldn’t be more helpful. Comfortable rooms decent shower a handy self-service snack bar downstairs. If you walk out of the hotel and turn right and walk up to the junction 25 minutes on the left-hand side, you’ll see on the corner a restaurant it’s round shaped restaurant, they do a fantastic club sandwich and chips. Also lovely local beer fantastic staff there as well.

The advantage is the location. As soon as the subway is out, you can see the hotel, which is on the pedestrian street, but taxis can also go to the door. Most of the attractions can be walked. When I first entered the hotel, I might feel a little older, but after living, I would like to live more and more, and then began to appreciate her. When I explained that I couldn't eat breakfast because I left early the next morning, I was grateful to try to provide a simple breakfast, but for me, it was too early in the morning. I heard that my friend lives in a nearby hotel. Instead of eating breakfast, he eats fruit and lunch, so if there is such a service, it would be better. The hotel nestles in a quiet side street a 2 minute walk from St Stephanplatz. The friendly uniformed staff compliment the opulent decorations. The highly polished brass interior of the lift offers a clue to the high standard of the room that awaits you. The bathrooms are decorated tastefully with Versace tiles, well maintained and clean as was the lovely bedroom with its fabric wall coverings and beautiful chandeliers typical of the traditional Viennese style. The windows open onto the narrow cobbled street peppered with a few restaurants of a class that commands peaceful patronisation. Following an extremely restful night on an enormous bed with pillows chosen from the menu, one will descend to the restaurant where a veritable cornucopia of delights await. Coffee and small treats are freely available 24 hours a nice touch. There is no bar but drinks will be brought to the small lounge area should you so desire. This is a hotel of excellent value for money where nothing is too much trouble for the staff. We will return here often. Ian
