Nestled within rolling hills and private farmland, Juno Hall provides a countryside feeling while still being located within 2kms of the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves. Waitomo Village is 1.5km, or a 10-15min walk down the road. We feature amenities such as a tennis court and an outdoor swimming pool, which is delightful in the summertime. The accommodation provides a large, shared kitchen, shared bathroom facilities and free unlimited Wi-Fi for all guests. We offer an outdoor barbecue for guests to use if they wish. As well as enjoying the caving experiences the various companies have to offer, you will be able to enjoy activities around Waitomo Caves, such as beautiful hikes/bush walks throughout the unique landscape and native forests. Otorohanga and Te Kuiti are the closest towns to us, 16km either way. We advise that you bring food with you if you do not have transport as there is no supermarket in Waitomo (but lovely local restaurants if you wish to treat yourself). We are happy to collect guests arriving via bus from the Village bus stops if required, just call on the day and we will pick you up! The nearest airport is Hamilton Airport, 63 km from the accommodation. Auckland Airport is approx. 2.5hrs drive from us, Rotorua and Taupo approx. 2hrs and New Plymouth approx. 2.5hrs.

The facilities are perfect, and it is a farm. You can pick horses and lambs at will. They are docile and cute. There are also wild boars. The farm is only 10 kilometers away from the glowworm cave. It feels like a paradise on earth.

We had a wonderful stay at the hostel. The staff were very friendly and gave us a thorough introduction to the hostel, including its lovely animal residents, like baby lambs, deer, pig, and horse. A highlight of my stay was the chance to feed the baby lamb, which was a truly memorable experience! The facilities are basic, but everything is in good working order and covers the essentials. The bedding was clean, and they provided a clear wall guide on how to set it up, which was helpful and a nice touch. Overall, it was a cozy, enjoyable stay, and we would definitely recommend it to others!

Excellente étape : nous étions en camping car : emplacement très agréable, personnel à l' accueil disponible et aidant, espaces sanitaires communs très propres, cuisine très bien équipée, grande pièce a vivre très chaleureuse. Au calme. Tout près des grottes de Waitomo ( nous y sommes allés à pied) .

One of my favourite hostels in New Zealand so far, if you want to rest and enjoy peace. It has a kind of mountain refuge ambience, with the fire lit in the centre of the room in winter, very warm, very clean and cosy. we stayed in a double room, which was comfortable. Not too big, but really nice. Really close to the caves around the Waitomo area and from the Otorohanga Kiwi House. There is a one year old dog in the property, likes to eat shoes that are left unattended in the common areas.

The host was very friendly and helpful. Kitchen was clean and tidy. Nice atmosphere. Bathroom facilies on the small side and the rooms had thin walls (could hear someone snoring from another room. The bed mattress was too hard.

I travelled around NZ for a month, and this was my favorite hostel I stayed in. The overall vibe and all the travellers were upbeat and friendly. It was cool having both the hostel rooms inside and camping spots outside. The pool was an awesome feature, hosts were friendly and helpful, and I loved having the two pigs, goat, deer, and George the dog around! It was such a nice secluded and quiet location, but close enough to drive to restaurants within 10 minutes. Walls were a bit thin, and beds and pillows weren't overly comfortable, but hey, that's how it usually works at hostels. Shared bathrooms were always clean and lots of hot water. Would recommend for sure!
