DDannierzaigusuFirst of all, I want to say that this hotel is the most impressive resort in China in the past few years before and after the epidemic (because I didn't go abroad).
Following last summer vacation, we chose Hainan as our family travel destination for two consecutive years. However, based on last year's summer vacation, this time we added a trip around the east coast, so Wanning naturally became a must-stop.
Compared with Sanya, Wanning has fewer hotels to choose from. Looking at xhs, the high-end resorts are nothing more than Le Méridien, Westin, Grand Hyatt Shenzhou Peninsula, and Sheraton in Shimei Bay (for some reason, few people mentioned Sheraton, basically the first three Big 3).
After comparing Le Méridien and Grand Hyatt, I still prefer the room style of Grand Hyatt, so I decisively ordered Grand Hyatt.
The hotel opened in 2022 and is quite new. The holiday feeling is also very full, with only more than 200 rooms in total, which can be felt from the time of check-in. It is said that the overall design style is inspired by the resorts in Bali. The scattered single-family buildings make the entire resort very low in building density, lush greenery, and a good sense of tranquility in the room. In short, it is very relaxing.
The room type is a sea-view bed, which is actually a front-row courtyard sea view. It is a first-floor room with a yard and you can also see the sea, but because of the greenery, the sea view is not as good as the second-floor sea view.
Several days before check-in, the hotel housekeeper Marcia called to greet, asked about the check-in requirements, and added WeChat. Because my family had a birthday during my stay, she helped with the birthday decoration and sent a lemon cake. I stayed for three nights, and Marcia was very polite and attentive throughout the whole process, which added a lot to the check-in experience (compared to the St. Regis in Yalong Bay where I stayed a few nights ago, the housekeeper almost did not provide any service...)
Of course, one disadvantage of the scattered rooms is that you almost need a battery car to go out of the room to any facility. The waiting time for calling a car and the freedom to go out are problems. After the experience, the battery car is not available on call, and it will not wait or notify by phone when it arrives at the door of the building. Instead, guests need to go to the door in advance to wait for the car, which is a big challenge for the weather in Hainan. Similarly, taking takeout is much more troublesome than a whole resort, which is also the only experience that needs to be improved during the stay.
Room: Simple Southeast Asian island style. When I first entered the room, I felt that it was not luxurious enough and was a bit simple. After living there for a few days, I found that it was actually very comfortable and suitable for living by the beach. The room is large enough and the ceiling is high, which are all plus points. The toilet and shower are separated, and the shower room is super large, comparable to a bathroom in a small apartment.
It feels very relaxing to walk out of the room to the yard. For example, I don’t like to use air conditioning all day, and it is also very comfortable to sit in the yard in the morning and evening.
Breakfast: There are three restaurants. I didn’t go to the one in the Guest House. Overall, the fishing restaurant is the best. There are both Chinese and Western styles. Moreover, the fishing restaurant is by the water. It is still great to sit by the large glass window and enjoy the sea view while eating breakfast. There are queues in the peak season, which is unavoidable.
Swimming pool: There is a central swimming pool. I personally think it is fun enough. There is a large lawn in front, with lazy sofas. There will be a bubble queue in the afternoon. It is generally suitable for lying down. The beach bar next to the swimming pool is also very relaxing. It is definitely a feel to have a drink in the evening. Further ahead is the beach of Shenzhou Peninsula, which is relatively gentle and very playable, better than the beach of Yalong Bay.
There is a small road between the hotel and the beach. It is fun to rent a three-wheeled electric vehicle to shuttle. You can reach the lighthouse by riding to the left for ten minutes and check in. It is very photogenic to ride a bicycle on the beach.
The hotel's landscape and beach are very suitable for travel photography. If you happen to be given a gift, don't miss it.
The underground parking lot is a little far from the lobby. If you want to get something from the room to the car, it will be painful (battery car docking + walking, 20 minutes or more). In addition, there are a few charging piles, almost all of which are occupied. It is recommended to increase them.
The children's playground is next to the fishing restaurant. We didn't experience it much, so I won't comment much.
Surroundings: The owner of the resort is Zhonghai. It seems that the entire Shenzhou Peninsula is mainly his family. There is a commercial street at the entrance of the resort. It is very convenient to eat and shop.
Summary: A perfect stay experience with almost no complaints. It is the first choice for family vacations in Wanning. We will definitely come again in the future. I hope that the hardware maintenance and service can continue! !
