The Willow Historical must be my favourite guest house. Quiet, well run, well-trained staff, excellent food and owners who care. There can be no better place to stay, especially if you have just ridden through Baviaanskloof on a bicycle.

We stayed here with a large group en route home. We'd stayed here before, this time in a cottage across the road from the main hotel. To be honest, it wasn't great, shabby, needing some refreshing, especially in the shower room. The plus were the electric blankets as the room was cold. Wouldn't recommend booking the cottages, particularly the one behind the main block which was in a very poor state. We were made very welcome, not least by the many dogs who live there. We'd suggest that the owners don't let the dogs sit on the sofas in the outside snug/bar; when they were chewing on greasy bones, that's not good for someone who later sits there. Dinner was very good, breakfast is a small cereals/fruit/yoghurt buffet with hot dishes to order. It was alright for a one-night stay, but we would have wanted better accommodation for a longer stay.

What a wonderful “old world” charming hotel. The proprietor, I think the owners daughter, runs the hotel with a firm hand. The hotel is old, very old, but not run down by any means. Rooms are not “the Ritz” but clean, comfortable and has everything you need. The food was amazing. The lamb shank simply fell off the bone. Several friendly dogs and a cosy bar lounge with a large fire place gave a warm and friendly environment. Well done to the team.

Winter is not the best time to visit the Karoo, so we were the only guests. But we were well looked after by the staff and the dogs. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The public areas are a set back in time with nice old furniture and memorabilia. We had a lovely dinner and a good breakfast. We'll come again

A charming guesthouse awaits. This historical and antique filled guesthouse is a gem. We enjoyed our twin bedded en-suite bedroom and slept well. Both the breakfast and dinner served in the dining room was superb. The fire was lit in the dining room on a cold day and the service was excellent. Ideal for a comfortable stay.

I highly recommend staying here. Our host El-Anna went above and beyond to make our visit exceptional. The self-catering cottage was cozy and comfortable. Absolutely beautiful and very quaint.The staff were efficient, friendly and welcoming and went above and beyond. We even received a warm greeting from their dogs. Perfect accommodation and wonderful hospitality. Would highly recommended!

Great service in a hotel that - in a positive sense - seems to be out of time. We stayed in a beautiful cottage with wooden floors and an old fashioned bathtub. Great dining room and excellent food! The hotel owner has a big heart for dogs - thank you for that too. We stayed there only for one night. But we would have liked to stay longer.

Interesting historical building in quiet site. Willowmore not if major interest but makes a good overnight stop. The dinner by candle light and breakfast were really excellent: the hotel has a very good cook and helpful manager
