I booked a room with a shared bathroom, but was assigned a separate bathroom. The room is compact and cozy. There is a restaurant on the first floor. The overall feeling is good. It takes two minutes to walk to the bus stop, which is also very convenient to go to the attractions.

The stay was very pleasant. The hotel is in a great location with abundant surrounding attractions and dining options. the breakfast and man running it was amazing, we were stunned with the amount of thought that went into us, even though we didnt pre-book.
only fault was that we didnt realise it was a pub (our fault) and it stayed open downstairs for 3 hours past closing time! we didnt sleep well as i think there was some sort of hendo which was very irritating

Would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in York. Less than 10 minutes walk from the city walls. Rooms are above a pub that serves food. Excellent pricing compared to others. Clean well appointed rooms. Staff were friendly and helpful. Free parking also which most others don't offer!
