Although the location is halfway up the mountain, it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the street. The hotel staff are very polite, the service is very good, and the introduction is very serious. The facilities in the room are really nothing to say. I enjoy my own independent outdoor bath, comfortable tatami space, and a big bed that makes me feel like it's dawn. It's comfortable enough. The meal performance is also very good, traditional Japanese kaiseki cuisine, the portion is just right, each group of guests has an independent box, so they will not be disturbed while dining. Hotel staff will call to remind you when the meal is ready.
It is recommended that everyone come here to visit and stay one night in Youli

We booked 2x Japanese rooms for 3 nights, over the rugby period. Obviously all hotels were charging a premium, but having booked 12 months in advance, at a cost of virtually £2,000 (excluding breakfast and dinner), I expected the hotel to be pretty good. The staff were very pleasant, but the communication was a problem - appreciate that this is our fault as much as theirs! The rooms were very shabby in our opinion, the furniture was badly marked and it didn't seem very clean. The worst problem was the smell in one of the rooms though, the staff told us it was from the tatami matting, but it clearly wasn't, as the other room had the same floorcovering and didn't smell. We ended up thinking it was the drains - but it was very unpleasant. The bathroom was pretty basic, and not well maintained - dirty grout around the tub etc. We stayed at 5 other hotels in Japan, and generally the standard was as expected - this was the only disappointment when considering cost vs. quality. The futons were more comfortable that I had expected - I slept really well.

Although the location is some distance from Yufuin Station, the environment is very comfortable and it is a very Japanese-style accommodation.
There is about an hour of private hot spring bathing time in the evening. This arrangement is too friendly for people who don’t like public hot spring bathing!
The owner and proprietress of the B&B are also very kind. They will explain all the facilities and arrangements clearly when checking in, and will also give us a printed hand-drawn map of the surrounding restaurants for our reference. They are really considerate and warm. He will also take us on a short tour of the shared areas of the B&B. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to use their tea room this time.
I really like the small message book in the room. It contains small sharings and feelings written by different guests who have stayed here before. I quietly looked at the stories they wrote. Although I couldn't understand some of them, it was really warm!

The hotel is in a tourist area. Conveniently accessible from Yufuin JR Station. Although it took some time to find at first, it was very easy. The hotel is clean and has a cute owner's cat waiting to welcome guests. The room is very spacious. Clean and has complete amenities. There is a small kitchen in the room. Checkout time may be earlier than other places, at 10am. I really like this place.

Stayed in a suite with two single beds which have our own open air bath and an indoor bath as well. The open air bath was just great, very large and beautiful. So relaxing to enjoy after almost three years not being able to visit the country and use onsen. Suite itself is very spacious and the amenities are new. There were however two small windows, one at the living area and the other near the suite's entrance which did not have curtains or blinds, and could be seen from the outside. Otherwise everything was perfect. The ryokan's public bath has an excellent view of Mt. Yufu. Food quality of the Kaiseki dinner was high. There were ample parking spaces for guests' use. I would like to thank Mr. Pralhad Pathak at the front desk who helped me make calls and spoke on my behalf to the staff of the hotel where I stayed the night before to help me look for my watch which somehow got lost. He was very caring and assisted me to follow up even upon my check-out. Very nice of him. Really appreciate it. My stay at Baien was a wonderful experience. I stayed at three different ryokans and some other hotels during my 8-day trip to Kyushu this time, and I ranked Baien no.1. I would definitely stay there again next time when I visit Yufuin.

Room accommodation with open-air bath [Room] Yufu Dake was well seen from the open-air bath. It is convenient to wash shampoo and body in the open-air bath or in the inner bath in the room. There are chairs and tables on the balcony. 【Amenities】 There are several cosmetics for men and women on the washbasin in the room. There are cleaning, but for the price of the room, including other amenities, it was .... 【Bath】 Small towels are prepared in the public bath, so you don't need to use wet things. There are few amenities in the dressing room. [Meal] Private room in the dining hall with evening breakfast. Dinner and Bungo beef steak were soft and delicious. When I entered the private room, I was already prepared for sashimi and baked fish on the table. There may be corona measures, but the baked fish was cold, so it was a little disappointing. There was breakfast, hot tofu and specialty ryukyu. There was a matcha and sweet service at check-in. It is good to spend a leisurely time walking to Lake Jinxi. I just felt that it was not as expensive.

It is a 5-story inn. To commemorate the anniversary of its founding 111, there was a free beer drink service in the lounge. It is a long-established inn in Yufuin Onsen. The customer service of the front desk staff was polite • and kind. I was able to answer the difference between Yufuin and Yufuin properly. I stayed in a large Japanese-style room on the 5 floor. When I opened the curtain, Mt. Yufu was approaching in front of me. The bathrooms are not unit-type, and the bath • Toilet • wash basins are independent. Supper is a summer Oitagawa kaiseki course. All the dishes were delicious. In particular, the dishes that left an impression on me were grilled on a Japanese black beef hoba miso ceramic plate. The warmed miso has a hoba scent, and the slightly sweet taste goes well with the beef. The more you want to refill it with an exquisite taste. Breakfast is buffet style. I was satisfied with the local menu of Oita Prefecture, including dango soup. There are two indoor baths in the large hot spring bath with a spacious space. There is also a whirlpool bath and a Louis Bosti hot water of the incense hot water. The open-air bath has natural rocks on the side facing the garden. The hot water temperature is a little hot and has a feeling of slimy. What is it in the indoor bath! Yunohana. Yunohana, which crystallized the hot spring ingredients, was in bloom in the bathtub. The hot spring is a good proof. I was able to stay at this hot spring inn and became a good memory of my husband and wife trip.

I used it on the Oita ~ Kumamoto trip at the end of the year. As a result of looking into the Yufuin, I made this inn, but it was correct here. The appearance has a calm atmosphere and the response of the employee is pleasant. The room was used by Yufu Dake 203, but it was so good that Yufu Dake could see well. It was a room with an open-air bath, but I felt reasonable in the same grade inn. The hot water seems to be the quality of the spring of this inn and there are many repeats. Anyway, the morning bath is pleasant! It was a very pleasant hot water with the view. I would like to put a handrail on this open-air bath so that even if the leg is inconvenient. What was surprised was cooking. I don't know if there is a cook who boasts his arms, but dinner was not honestly expected much, but it was actually very delicious. During the second night, the first night cooks the ingredients that are naive and firmly examined, and the second night is a menu like a large item, and it is naturally delicious. I felt that the boiling of the cherry blossoms was probably the best I have ever eaten. Finally, the air cleaner and the close avoidance measure in the point, and in this corona pass, this inn felt that it took measures to pay attention to the sivia. It was a good inn that I was recommended with confidence and wanted to come again.

Travel with a group of friends to Beppu but only 4 of us decided to stay at Amanek for 2 nights. This was the best decision ever as we were closed to the JR station, eateries, Tokiwa shopping mall, Donki and the beach were within walking distance. Only few staff could speak English. Those who speak Japanese only also try their best to serve the guest. I am impressed by how clean and new the whole hotel is. Best of all, I love the free flow of juices & beverages. You could also do take away in the UCC coffee disposible cup. Love the choice of either western or local breakfast with free flow of side dishes. I am surprised by how big the bedroom is and spacious bathroom. The gym equipment tho basic, are new & in good condition. The onsen is clean & modern & I love the warm rooftop pool with an awesome view! Amanek is thoughtful to provide guest with a basket to hold all your onsen needs. Upon check out, I was overcharged for my 2 days of breakfast. The staff was quick to rectify the problem & refunded me on the spot. Yes, would definitely stay in Amanek again in my next visit to Beppu! Thank you for the awesome stay!

Very helpful and friendly front desk staffs will smiling face all the time. The onsen on the roof top is excellent particularly the outdoor pool. I love their ramen serving after 9:30 pm, good timing after enjoing onsen. The room size is reasonable if you been to enough hotels in Japan. Cleanliness and tidynesss is impressive. Breakfast is good but love to see more western selections. Overall I love this hotel and will prefer to stay there again.

Outstanding
GGuest UserWe stayed at the Ryokan almost three months ago. And I still did not write a review. We stayed there almost by accident, as the Ryokan we intended to stay in had only a vacancy for one night. There was time pressure. So I accepted their suggestion of their colleagues. Maybe I would not have picked it if I had looked into it better as I prefer a traditional house and here the old house (badly damaged by an earthquake) has been erased and replaced with daring new architecture. Yet is turned out to be the best place of our trip, one of the best places I stayed in, and I have been in many places all over Japan. How to write a review that does justice to this special place ? A place that has all the old fashioned refinery, mastering the tradition of omotenashi, blending it perfectly with a young vibrant savoir-vivre, global art and gastronomy. |I cannot write a review. Please read all the other ones, I only want to say : thank you, arigato gozaimasu ありがとうございます
GGuest UserIt is located a little further back from the hot spring town, and it is very quiet though it is a short walk from the busy street with many tourists. I liked the entrance and the building because it was quaint, but there is one very disappointing point. About dinner provision. It was great to have a partition like a private room with a corona sickness in mind, but the speed of offering is too disappointing. I think it was partly because the meal speed of the attendant was particularly fast, but before the slower plate was finished, I came out with the next 々 and the dish, while the customer was eating with chopsticks. The disposal of the place where the next plate is placed by the waiter in a hurry. Perhaps I finally noticed that it was packed with three plates, and it was difficult to come even if it was empty next time. Whether I wanted to drink or not, rice was served even though half of the alcohol was left, and it was already messed up. It's a pity here because the room and hot springs were good.
GGuest UserThe large open-air bath overlooking Mt. Yufu has the best atmosphere. It's warm, so you can soak in it leisurely. For men, there is already a 1 or a small open-air bath that is hot and can be used by the bridge. I stayed in the main building. It is a building with a considerable age, and although it is undeniably old, the toilet has been renovated and cleaned well. The dishes were basic plans, so there were no high-class ingredients, but I was satisfied with the contents that I could feel politeness. Finally, the response of the employees was very good and made the impression of this inn very good.
Yyellowie8What a lovely place to have a retreat. It's away from the crowd but near the yufuin station....about 500 m. They don't have many rooms so it's quiet. Just outside the hotel is Lawson. Restaurants are also nearby. The hotel looks like a resort with beautiful landscaping. Staff is hospitable and although some don't speak very good English, they try their best. They allow us to keep our luggage at the lobby before check-in and after checkout. The hotel is simply generous with free drinks almost throughout the day and night, free usage of bicycles , beer and instant noodles are sold at a cheap price. It's a self contained hotel. Everything is there. The 4 private onsens are great. Rooms are clean but a bit cramped and it would be good if they have more hangers to hang clothes. A mirror on the wall would be better than a small table mirror. If you're not a cat lover, you might not be impressed when you see their cats walking on the food tables and sitting on the sofas. The small details like a note welcoming you and a photo of you at the end of the stay are why I would love to come back again.
VVincent Tong 17It is a hot spring hotel that is very suitable for a family. We drove by ourselves and it snowed in the morning. The staff helped us clear the snow from the car.
The entire villa we rented was very spacious and very clean. It has an indoor hot spring and an outdoor sauna, which is suitable for a family.
The quality of the food is very high and very exquisite
BBuccaneerDaveThe property is very easy to locate and has ample free parking. The owners were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was outstanding. Very nicely prepared, arranged and delicious. The rooms were pretty good. Comfortable but not overly spacious. The onsen was pretty good as well. Personally did not enjoy the type of water that was in the bath as it was very different feeling to other baths but it was nice to have a rotemburo outside. Owners were very understanding when we had to spend the day in the hotel rearranging our itinerary and flights to head back to Canada due to Covid-19. The town itself, we were not super big fans of. We could see how many would like it but it really didn't hold much interest to us. And sorry but Kinrin Lake is a pond, not a lake. Liked the hotel but don't think we will return to Yufuin in the future. Thanks for all your kindness during our stay with you.
AAnonymous UserThis is the failure of the blind hotel selection for this trip to Japan. . In fact, there are many other hotel options in the town. Fortunately, the surrounding environment heals and does not affect the overall travel mood.
The so-called private bath is as small as a single bathtub, and the only outdoor hot spring time is very short. I didn't know that the scheduled dinner was not in the hotel until I arrived. I needed to take a car, and I didn't explain it in advance. It is very similar to a simple ABB standard hotel, which is very different from the expected hot spring hotel. It is also far from the station. The advantage is that it is very close to Jinlin Lake. Get up early and go for a walk. The environment of the town is so beautiful
The attitude of the service staff is very good. After 9 o'clock, they get off work and ask for self service. At this price, I can't complain, and I won't choose it next time
AAnonymous UserA hotel suitable for health preservation, with a beautiful environment, attentive service, and you can see the stars in the sky at night. The two meals were average, not very surprising, and not quite in line with the price.
GGuest UserThe check in process was ”smart check-in”, where guests receive the passcode to the room via email. Unfortunately, I didn't receive any email (not in junk/spam either), and was stuck outside the room, trying to call a call center that had already closed for the day. There was also no reply to the email I had sent via the Trip app. In the end, I had to ask the guest staying in another room for the phone number of the person directly in-charge of the facility, so that I could call them to get the password and check-in code. The facility exceeded my expectations, but the check-in process due to the missing email was too stressful and unpleasant. I may use the facility again, but I will book it through another app to prevent such problems again.
GGuest UserIt took us a while to find the Minshuku as there were no English signage. Luckily we asked us a passerby who pointed us in the right direction. The tatami room was enough for our family of 4 with an 8yo and 11yo. The communal sink was right outside our room and the shared toilets were right around the corner. We liked their small bath house too around the the back of the main building. We were very kindly greeted and shown our room. They most spoke Japanese but we managed to get by using translator apps. Ample parking and we were allowed to park for a while after checking out so we could walk around the small town. They also returned my daughter's bolster and purse which she accidentally left behind. The location of the minshuku is very good - just a few hundred meters from Kinrin lake and the tourist spots nearby.
