There is a slope in front of you and the best location. This time, I used a plan with a ski lift ticket, so it was very good value. The room was a long time ago, but there is no problem because it only sleeps after skiing. The gondola from Naeba Ski Resort to the next Kagura Ski Resort was wonderful. However, it was difficult to have a balanced meal because it was an accommodation plan without meals. Since it was a weekday, there were many restaurants on holidays, and I felt that every restaurant was generally more valuable than the quality. There are two large communal baths, but one of the men's baths was under repair and could not be used, and the only underground large communal bath that was available was incredibly far away. Also, it was dark and lacking in cleanliness, probably because it wasn't cleaned very well, so I didn't want to enter twice. I think it would be difficult to stay unless it was for skiing purposes.

Visited hotel in Autumn Nov 23. Stayed 1 night. Room: Spacious, with 1 shower room, 1 dressing area with sink, 1 toilet room with another large sink, bedroom has a sitting area, full sized wardrobe, and 2 twin beds. The room was quiet throughout the night and we had a comfortable stay. One minor comment is that the mattresses on the bed felt old as they sagged in the middle, leaving you without back support. I slept well nevertheless Onsen: Not sure if spring water was used, but the onsen areas were large, with not just an indoor onsen but also an outdoor one, and jacuzzis in 2 forms (sitting and lying down). Very relaxing after a long drive. Breakfast: Quite a good spread with Japanese options, western options, and fruit, yoghurt w compote and juice / coffee/ tea stations. All in this was value for money for the price we paid

It is near Echigo Yuzawa Station. It is located on the side of the line of the Shinkansen and Joetsu line, and it is not a high platform, so it is not an inn to enjoy the scenery. It was a room Japanese room 10 tatami mats, but there were also 6 tatami mats like the next room, and I felt wide. The bath is on the opposite side of the front desk on the first floor. There is a slightly wet inner bath 1 and a hot open-air bath, and the Joetsu Shinkansen downhill can be seen 々. The towel is very thick, and it is not possible to use it as a hand towel, and I think it is better to bring a body towel in the room. The meal is a dining room on the second floor. It was designated as 19:30. There are waiters and waitresses, but most of them seem to be in training, and the timing of bringing food is slow, and if you don't urge again, you won't fire a pot or a pot. There was no Nakai in wafuku, and it was like a business hotel with Japanese rooms and hot springs. There were few rooms, and the bath was not crowded, and I was able to relax without worrying.

　We stayed at a hot spring with a few rooms. We were able to enter the hot spring for 24 hours and entered many times in the middle of the night. The meal of the inn is delicious, but when I went to the second time, I stayed overnight and went to eat nearby. If possible, I think there is a plan with breakfast for one night. 近くに国道17号がありますが、住宅街の中にあるので、うるさくもなくゆっくりできました。 駅前にあるバス乗り場にもでやすいので、スキースノボで来るならとても良い場所かと思います 小さいですが３〜４人くらい入れる広めの大浴場あり。 中から鍵をかけて使用して良いとのことです。 なので貸切状態でゆっくり入れ、とても快適でした。 出る時は、電気を消して扉を全開にして開けておきます。 特に予約とかはないので、鍵がかかっていなければ入れる感じです。 乾燥室のような板置きもあるので、スノーシーズンには重宝します。 ハンガー掛けるところもあるので、ウェア等も乾かせます。 板のお手入れのことも伝えたら、快く延長コードを貸してもらえました 乾燥室でワックスがけもさせていただけたので良かったです。 部屋は２名用なので、広々しています。 机も仕事するには問題ない広さです。 帰りが遅くなる時は、鍵を持って出た方が良いです。 早く戻る時も持ってても良いかもです。 一度、フロントに預けて出た際に、午後早めに戻ってきましたが、呼び鈴押しても全く出てこなかった時があります。 電話もかけてみましたが、やはり出ず… 10分くらい待ってようやくエレベーターで降りてこられたので、フロントにいない場合もありです。 数日滞在でしたので、毎日清掃も入ります。 バスタオル類や歯ブラシも毎回新しいのを置いてもらえます。 乾燥室のような板置きもありです。 ハンガー掛けるところもあるので、ウェア等も乾かせます。 板のお手入れのことも伝えたら、快く延長コードを貸してもらえました。 乾燥室でワックスがけもさせていただけたので良かったです。

As a result, Tokyo arrived at Echigo Yuzawa Station more than 13:00, but the car to JR Water was 15:08, so I had to wait at the station. Rent a ski on the first floor, it can be said to be underground, the front desk is on the second floor. Special reminder that after renting the ski equipment, we don’t have to take it upstairs. We don’t know if we go to the second floor. We only know that there is a slope on the first floor. The rented skis are wearing ski boots and are directly on the slope on the first floor. The car is gone, the hotel has a car to go to the ski resort. The time to send is maneuverable and you can tell the hotel reception. Finally, we recommend the hot springs of the hotel. The hot springs have a long history and there are certificates on the walls. It is very comfortable to soak.

My stay at the Takahan Ryokan was wonderful thanks to the welcoming staff, classic room layout and view, and history of the property. I arrived at Gala Yuzawa Station a little before the official check-in time (3:00 pm) but was still picked up within five minutes after calling. The staff member on the phone spoke good English, as did the two staff members - both non-Japanese - who welcomed me at the hotel. Everyone was patient and went out of their way to help me and answer questions. One staff member led me up to my room on the fifth floor of the hotel, showing me the entrance to the baths from the hot spring presumably under the property and the room Kawabata Yasunari wrote ”Snow Country” in, both on the first floor, along the way. I was really happy with the room, which was quite large by Japanese standards and had a great view. As another reviewer noted, the amenities in the room are dated, but I thought that just added to the charm. As a fan of Kawabata Yasunari, I really enjoyed the history of the place and the chance to look out on the town from the same vantage point he described in his novel. The comfortable seating - with tea set - on the room's balcony/veranda made this especially enjoyable to do. Overall, my stay at the Takahan was one of the most memorable and enjoyable I've had. Highly recommended.

It was used during the 2022 Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale. The main building, where the lobby is located, is an old private house built in the Meiji period and has been designated as a registered tangible cultural property. This modern Japanese-style hotel has been recognized as a three-star hotel in the Michelin Guide Niigata 2020. The calculated space design has a sense of overkill, but it is calming. I stayed in Classic C-type Room 305 (Komatsu), a twin bed placed on a 10 tatami mat, a space next to 4.5 tatami mats and 3 tatami mats, and a reading space facing the front. It was a bit too large for a couple, but the 3 tatami mats were occupied by chairs and were a little inconvenient. Dinner is a full-course meal called ”Snow Country Gastronomy” based on ingredients and traditional dishes that have been eaten in the snow country for generations. Although the taste was above the level, there was no dish that left an impression with the orthodox menu structure. Although it is a different world once you pass through the gate, it is close to the city area and is along National Route 291, which runs parallel to the Uonuma River, so the location is not very environmentally friendly. It's not bad if you decide to stay home.
