Just returned from a two night stay. The hotel could not be in a better location.....absolutely perfect!
Unfortunately though the hotel is very tired and dated. The lift doesnt work and judging bybprevious reviews im not sure the last time that it was. The bathroom door wouldnt stay closed and my room overlooked the backs where clearly the bins and restaurant staff are. I was rudely awoken by the staff and bin men at 04.45am which wasnt great.
All in all a perfect location and the reception staff were lovely but not really worth the money that it cost!
A beautiful estate and so much to explore nearby. It's quite close to Windsor center and only a few min drive away from Windsor Castle. The layout of the hotel was a bit confusing at first because the main hotel reception is a little hidden, but easy enough to find after one or two attempts! The room is reasonably spacious for two and fairly clean. I only wish there was a fridge!
One of our curtains fell on the second day of our stay. We were out when it happened and found it fallen when we got back. We went to reception to let them know (this was around 1pm) and they said they'll send someone over to take a look. We waited in our room until 6pm, called reception again, and no one came. We went down to reception the next day to inquire again and were told that maintenance had left for the evening, but that they will be sent to our room straightaway the next morning. We went out the next morning, came back, and found the curtain completely removed!! No replacement. We asked reception if someone was going to come replace the curtain and they basically said they couldn't fix it at this point, and that they could change us to a twin bed room (we were originally in a double) that was much, much smaller. Not the kind of situation I would expect from a hotel that flaunts its customer service.
We also asked for room service on all three nights and not once were our bedsheets/duvet changed (we had an orange juice stain in the middle of our bed that was still there every day).
Overall the location is great and the hotel is super aesthetic, but we didn't like the fact we had to stay in a curtain-less room for 2 nights with no compensation or alternative (and had to chase them to even do something about the fallen curtain).
The hotel's location is excellent, right in the center of Reading. It's incredibly convenient, with shops, department stores, restaurants, cafes, and Reading train station all within walking distance. The hotel's decor is outstanding, and the facilities are brand new. The staff are very friendly and polite. However, a downside is that the hotel doesn't have a lift, and the staircases are quite narrow. If you have large luggage, it would be better to choose a room on a lower floor.
The overall experience of this hotel is very good, the process from check-in to check-out is very smooth. The service staff is kind and courteous, the room is clean and tidy, the facilities are complete and well maintained. The location is convenient and the surrounding life functions are also very convenient. The overall accommodation environment is comfortable and relaxing. It is a pleasant stay experience. I will have the opportunity to visit again in the future.
Breakfast is the most wonderful thing. Only a few items are picked up at the bar. Others need to be ordered. There are only one or two waiters. It takes a long time to eat, and it is not necessarily your favorite. When there are many guests, the waiter is so busy that his face is expressionless. I really don't know why they want this kind of service.
The big bed room is not bad, and the surrounding environment is also very good. Unfortunately, the breakfast mode is not mentioned in the details, otherwise I would not book this hotel.
Spacious rooms with good amenities within historically beautiful buildings with sympathetic extensions. Massive car park and quite rooms. Very responsive and interactive staff ensuring a positive experience at anytime (we arrived at 10:30 pm). In house breakfast has superior taste and the Chef has excellent mastery of the Classic English Breakfast.
Very good in terms of location, A nice little walk to the centre but far enough out that you don’t really get the noise of the late night drinkers (sat/friday). The room was a decent size for what we paid, nice shower and bathroom small but good for the money we paid. However, the room was really really hot. We had to sleep with both windows open, AC didn’t work at all. The TV has all the normal channels and it worked perfectly. The coffee machine area downstairs was helpful however they didnt give us any cups, put any available out for people to grab or tell us that they even had any. No tea bags or little things of milk which would have been helpful. The machine does make tea however we both werent sure how useful/good it would have been. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a cheap stay in reading.
The Hotel was incredible good located, the Garden surrounding the Hotel was amazing. The breakfast was quite full and also the food was fresh.
The bar tender Silvester was amazingly kind, and he was really keen on preparing all cocktails. The receptionist Walmer was also so kind, we forgot the charger adapter and he gave us one! Also he was always prepared to solve any questions we had!! Our experience was much more of what we were expecting. I definitely recommend this Hotel, not only for the building but for all the staff!! Definitely my Number one come back 🇦🇷
The best hotel in the UK tour left me a very good first impression of Windsor.
The location is right next to the riverside station and it is very convenient to come from London. Next to the Thames (this is a river much more beautiful than the Thames in London) and the bridge connecting Windsor and Eaton, there are various swans, ducks, pigeons and other birds around the river, the scenery is very beautiful. Looking up is Windsor Castle, not far from walking, not far from Windsor & Eton Central station on foot, there are many restaurants, supermarkets around the station, and you can take the bus to Slough to transfer to Oxford and other places. In addition, there are several good restaurants around (recommended Indian cuisine next door mango longue).
The hotel looks old-fashioned but the room is very new, the area is suitable and the living is comfortable. The view of some rooms is also good, such as my room window is facing Windsor Castle.
The staff at the hotel are very friendly.
It is worth mentioning the hotel's breakfast. The breakfast content itself is still mainly English breakfast, but the content is richer than the hotel I stayed in London, with more traditional blood pudding and fried mushrooms. Outside the meal, the window of the breakfast restaurant is facing the Thames. It feels very good to enjoy the beauty of the Thames while dining in the morning. It is a rare breakfast experience outside Japan that I am worth mentioning.
Overall, this is a hotel that is very suitable for a leisurely two-day stay in Windsor, and it is also very suitable as a stronghold for western England attractions, and the experience is much better than the London hotel with the same price.

XXiaofengqiaokeliThe main advantage is its proximity to Terminal 5, though you'll need to take an airport shuttle, which takes about ten minutes. It's clean and tidy, and the room isn't small. The breakfast is a huge plus, perfect for catching an early flight afterwards. Perhaps because of its affordable price, it seems to have a high occupancy rate, as checking in took a bit longer.
KKatherine MorganHotel really well situated for the motorway and for Newbury station.
The facilities are really good, and service received from the moment we arrived from the very friendly and helpful member of staff on reception.
Really lovely breakfast with a great choice of food. Will definitely be returning

IIanFrom beginning to end of our visit the staff were the ones the shone through. Impeccable level of service and general friendliness made our stay very pleasant indeed. The hotel couldn’t be better situated within the ancient old town of Windsor. We only went to the restaurant for breakfast and this was also at a very high standard. Would recommend to other families
HHengqilaobaI've stayed at a few Holiday Inns along the way, and the one in Cambridge didn't have air conditioning, which made me a bit nervous. But this one was fine; the AC worked great, though it wouldn't turn off unless you unplugged it 😂. The surrounding area seems to be a gathering place for people from the Middle East, which was a little unsettling 😓. The food around here is also predominantly Middle Eastern style. My son found a Japanese restaurant about 1.6 miles away, which was pretty good, just a bit of a walk. At breakfast, we ran into a group of Chinese middle school students on a study tour from Xi'an, which was quite interesting. The location is close to Eton College and Windsor Castle. Windsor Castle is definitely worth a visit.
OOllieSFirst receptionist we dealt with was really nice but then she had to ask a colleague for help with our check in and she was extremely rude. Having booked an executive room, we were told we didnt get access to the executive lounge as hadn't booked direct. Load of rubbish. Went to our room, quick call to Hilton Customer Care and they confirmed we did have executive lounge access so went back to reception.
The hotel is really comfortable, big spacious rooms, nice beds, bathrooms with shower and bath. Water wasn't free even in executive rooms which was a bit of a shock (£2.50 a bottle).
Executive lounge was nice but service much cut back from last time I stayed at few years ago. Fridges empty most of the day, snacks not topped up. Dirty cups everywhere etc. Evening snacks was good but again, reduced compared to what they used to offer. Spirits and prosecco was a nice touch though.
Breakfast served in the restaurant for executive room guests. Really nice selection, mostly buffet but eggs and omelettes cooked to order. Nice coffee.
Staff on the whole are really friendly and welcoming (apart from the receptionist on day one). We had 3 nights here and enjoyed it.
There is a shuttle bus from terminal 5 to the hotel door which is £6.80 per person or you can take bus number 5 which stops on the road outside the hotel for £1.50. If staying more than one night, there is buses to Windsor, legoland, Slough and hounslow (for the tube to central london).
GGuest UserThe hotel's surroundings are beautiful, nestled in a residential area, so there are hardly any unruly crowds, and the locals are very nice. The hotel staff provide excellent service, and their English is fluent. The rooms are not densely packed, and the staff maintain an appropriate distance, which is appreciated. The breakfast area is clean, and while the selection is simple, the quality is high, and the fruit is fresh. I recommend trying the milk with various cereals. I look forward to visiting again.
GGo MissPriddyIt was a nice comfortable room and stay. Cost effective with breakfast.
Systems were down so checking was delayed and held us up. Room was too far for my sister to walk as she suffered with a leg injury and found it difficult to walk to and from the room. Accessibility was not considered despite noting it on the booking so she couldn't have the desired shower room as expected. Could be because of the system issue. The room was spacious and nice, hall a little bland, hall carpet a little tarnished possibly due to footballers and co footfall as it's connected to the stadium so perfect for footballers and families at match time. Entrance clean and inviting. There are 2 floors ,no lift so this must be considered if you cannot walk far. Lobby and breakfast hall was clean, and buffet breakfast was nice. Staff were friendly. FYi- my uncle received complimentary benefits for the long check in issues and delays. My sister and I didn't although it would have been nice too, since we waited long also. Overall it was nice but and I would stay again.
GGuest UserThe trip went very well. I enjoyed every bit of my Stay. It was very close to immunities and local conveniences without the need to go very far with equal access routes to work and to conveniences will definitely be coming again. Thank you Copthorne keep up the good work.
