The stilted buildings appeared faintly in the morning mist, smoke curled up from cooking fires, and the crisp mountain songs of Miao girls filled the air. This Miao ethnic settlement, formed by more than ten connected villages, exudes a unique cultural charm. In the afternoon, we strolled through Xiashi Ancient Town, one of China's top ten most beautiful ancient towns. The winding bluestone paths and well-preserved ancient buildings made us feel as if we had traveled back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. The fourth day’s Huangguoshu Waterfall trip brought the entire journey to a climax. As Asia’s largest waterfall, Huangguoshu’s grandeur is truly incomparable. When the cascading waterfall sprays mist all around and the rainbow appears faintly, we couldn’t help but cheer. This place was also a filming location for "Journey to the West." Seeing the familiar scenes brought childhood memories flooding back. The Tianxing Bridge’s strange rock formations and the wide water surface of Duopotang each have their own unique features, making every attraction unforgettable. The last day at Qingyan Ancient Town perfectly concluded our trip. This military ancient town with over 600 years of history has stone-paved streets crisscrossing and Ming and Qing dynasty buildings arranged harmoniously. Tasting the local rose sugar and braised pig’s trotters while feeling the leisurely pace of the ancient town, all the travel fatigue melted away in this comfort. This five-day itinerary was well balanced, allowing us to appreciate Guizhou’s magnificent natural scenery and experience the rich ethnic minority culture.
