Island Hotel Port Aransas

This was a bad experience. I expected this NOT to be a nice place visually and had low expectations. However, they were unprepared for guests and made no attempt to make it right. Do not pay more than 100 dollars for these rooms. We tried to check in and there were no available rooms despite our reservation. Despite checkout being at 11am and check in at 4 pm they were unable to clean the rooms for their guests. We were given a room after pressing that we paid to be here. Then the room had zero towels. I went back to the front desk to request towels and was informed that there weren't any and there was no timeline for when they would be done. So no shower after a beach day before our nice dinner. The front desk woman basically said too bad and to try back later. When we finally did get towels its because I went to the employee lounge and knocked on the door and asked someone else to help me. the shower had no place to put soap or shampoo, no ledge so you have to put the soap down on the dirty floor or walk out of the bathroom with it in hand. The stall had no ledge so the water just can pour out into the bathroom. At check out, I asked for a receipt to which she informed me I couldn't have because I booked it through my credit card company. If you are going to take my card and make me sign for incidentals then you should be able to print me out a receipt for my stay. I never received an email with the receipt. We slept next to the loud parking lot, a barking dog, on scratchy sheets and basically, the only good part was that we didn't sleep in the car.

We wanted a getaway in a new place. We have never been to Port Aransas and sfter shruggin goff the standard escapres we chose here. Nice little hotel, simple but has all the amenities needed for a nice stay. We CHOSE quaint, a beach type hotel near the beach. 5 minutes to the coaen, right on the main drag of Port A. Close to all restaurants and activities. Staff was really nice, and room was sufficunet for our needs. Hotel was well maintianed and clean. Only issuie was the shower was a bit wonky relating to the hot/cold water, but it was addressed and fixed.
The Place at Port Aransas

This Hotel is very comfortable… Large wide open spaces in the rooms… Our king size bed offered us wonderful rest, very comfortable bed… The room blacks out, with the window shades, for a complete darkness during the day if you want to take a nap. We had our 2452 Bayliner in the marina for our stay, the place offered us quick access… to the marina. Actually just around the corner. There is a very calm tranquil atmosphere in this Hotel, the staff are very attentive. Price very reasonable in comparison to other places on the island… You are very close to the main drag in this hotel.
Best Western Port Aransas

After experiencing bugs in the beds in multiple rooms at the Seaside Boutique Hotel, we showed up to the Best Western around 11:00 pm looking for a room for the evening. This hotel was highly rated and we were hopeful it would be a reprieve from what we'd just experienced. We approached the front desk at the Best Western to make a reservation for that night only to learn that we couldn’t because we were BLACKLISTED from making a reservation there. Initially, we thought the front desk associate was playing a joke on us after having heard the story about what we’d just experienced, but he wasn’t. He had our names on a post-it in front of him and refused to rent us a room. In shock, we drove 40 minutes to Corpus and stayed for the night. The following morning, we contacted Best Western to get more information on the blacklist reasoning, only to find out that, you guessed it, THIS PROPERTY SHARES A MANAGER WITH SEASIDE BOUTIQUE HOTEL (the place where we experienced bugs in our bed). Jeremy, the manager, told the front desk agent not to rent to us and claimed that he was unable to find the bugs we complained about. In addition, he had his front desk person the following day relay his message instead of calling me himself like I requested. This experience was scarring and makes me question every review on the internet. Moral of the story… avoid Seaside “Boutique” Hotel and Best Western, check for bed bugs, and frankly, stay in Corpus and drive in for the day because Port A is over priced. We’ll definitely be reporting this place to the Health Department and the Better Business Bureau.

Booked this place for one day and when I showed up to check in (it was 2pm) and the lady at the front desk pointed to a sign and said check in is at 4pm. Not bothering to ask my name to even see if the room is available, no pre check in, nothing just ”check in is at 4pm” and pointed to a sign. Now I understand this was early and I was fine with it and said 'Ok, no problem, I'll come back.” but as I was walking out another gentleman walked in and asked to check in and the front desk lady's attitude completely changed. She asked his name, checked him in, no problem that it was early. I was friendly when I asked to check in no different than the man after me. The only difference between this gentleman and myself was that he was Caucasian and I am not. I myself didn't point that out but it was pointed out by others. I come to Port Aransas quite often and have never had an experience like this so it was disheartening. When I came back to check in at 4pm I was given a room with a faulty AC and broken shower head so it just further made me feel unwelcome at this property. The room itself was clean and the hotel was very close to things in Port Aransas but the experience with the lady at the front desk made me feel that perhaps people such as myself aren't welcome at this property, or at least when she's working.
Alister Square Inn

We made a trip out to Portland Tx to visit family and stayed at Alisters. It was priced right at $42.00 a night and had a small kitchen. The room is quite large ( we stayed in a king) and homey. The bed was firm but comfortable for us. The water pressure was the better than my hotel in Portland so that was a bonus. We checked in extraordinarily late however, the manager was more than accommodating and understanding even though we had to wake him up very late. Tons of toiletries and literally had everything we needed. The only thing they could do better in our eyes is maybe get a heavier blanket we were freezing and the blanket was a thin sheet type cover. However, we would absolutely be staying here again!!!!!
