Hilton Barbados Resort

We booked the Hilton Resort as it was ranked highly, however it was not to our expectations. Firstly I will start off by giving full credit to the hardworking staff who worked very hard with the limited resources they have and tried their very best to make the stay comfortable for customers. The staff at the entrance meeting / greeting, reception area, restaurants, pool area and house keeping service staff deserve full credit. I had to rate the stay as 2 out of 5 simply due to the management decisions. We found the following issues during our stay, as listed below: 1) We understand that nature produces sea ****s, and there is no control of sea ****s gathering on the beach perimeter with the waves. However, there was no process or maintenance in place to run a tractor every morning to gather the sea ****s and litter from the sand on a daily basis. You find other hotels in the Carribbean (my recent trip to St Lucia) where hotels maintain their beach area early hours in the morning ready for customers. This is supposed to be Hilton (a worldwide known brand). The beach standard was the biggest disappointment for us. 2) No variety of food on the menu. Some of the restaurants were closed due to the season. We actually got bored with the menu as it was the same things to eat and in my opinion very expensive. We saw other customers ordering take away from external restaurants, which was very surprising, maybe they felt the same. We also explored the option and found that more variety is available externally and the price of food is significantly less than what your hotel offers. We actually ordered pizza and snacks externally with delivery service and it worked out to be an excellent deal. 3) There was 3 of us (2 adults and 1 infant) and we were only offered 3 very small bottles of water to last us a day. We then requested for 6 large bottles of water and we were charged a rate of around 11 BBD each which equates to around £4.73, so in total we spent £28.38 on water!!! Water is a necessity of life and we were charged a silly amount, not forgetting the bottles we purchased during dinner. Sounds embarrassing but we should have purchased a multi pack of water bottles from Lidl or Tesco in the UK which would have cost us less than £10 and bought that with us in our check-in luggage. 4) There is something wrong with the lifts. There are a total of 4 lifts, and only 2 appear to work. It takes ages to wait for a lift. Again something small as this can become frustrating if you need to use the lift a few times a day. 5) The room Fridge door did not close properly as the gasket seemed to be worn. 6) No kettle in the room. We needed to boil some hot water. This is basic equipment expected in a hotel room. 7) No microwave available to heat food. If the hotel cannot provide a microwave in each room, then maybe the cost effective to install a couple of microwaves in the same room you offer self service ice to customers. Microwave is an important piece of equ

We had an amazing time at this hotel. It's the staff that make this hotel special. Linda the owner has created a fabulous team. Kameisha the senior hostess remembers everyone's name, room and order. The whole bar and restaurant team have the ability to make you feel welcome. Warm and friendly. Linda and family host a Managers cocktail party and spoke to every single guest. Special shout out to the beach security guard. The most friendly and helpful gentleman. I adored this hotel. The island speaks for itself. Friendly, exciting and beautiful
Blue Orchids Beach Hotel

We had booked a room for a week at sister property Coral Mist a year before, but upon arrival were told we were staying at Blue Orchids next door. Not happy. The room given had an obstructed view of the grounds and ocean to the right, so after checking again, were offered a room closer to the water with a better view. Had a lovely room with a nice kitchen and everything we would need for a nice week. Had brought some food staples with us (coffee, crackers, etc.) but walked to Massey supermarket (about 1 mile away) for beer, wine, food. The selection was extermely limited so we didn't buy much food. Not at all what I expected for a big grocery store, but what we bought provided breakfast and lunch all week. We ate out for dinners. Always got a lounger on the beach though we did secure them around 7 am. You may not get one after 11 am or so, since they are all taken by that point we found. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating, especially the property manager who was great. We would definitely return to this hotel and request the same room, building. It was wonderful.
Radisson Aquatica Resort Barbados

First time visiting Barbados and we stayed at the Radisson for one week. Although the property is old and can use a face lift, our recent stay at the Radisson was nice. The hotel is located on a prime beach location with excellent views of pebble and brown beach. Our room was clean and bed was very comfortable. On one occasion the AC was not working and soon after we reported the problem they were able to fix it. The restaurant staff and services were less than desirable. We would definitely return to the Radisson for our next visit to Barbados.

Worthing Court Apartment Hotel

My stay at Worthing Court was a pleasant one with friendly and welcoming staff, nice maintained grounds and gardens...the whole property seemed to be in good upkeep from the pool to the rooms even when things may seemed a bit quiet Though the property is closed to the main road in Worthing on the south coast, it is still pretty quiet...but if you're a light sleeper or bothered by vehicular traffic..request a room further in or at the back, I'm not particularly bothered by it as I like seeing people or traffic go by plus you get the ocean views from the front My room was nice and spacious with all the amenities of home like the kitchenette with a nice fridge, complimentary waters and coffee/tea station a plus, a patio/balcony to relax as I've observed all rooms comes with...the property is in close proximity to beaches, shops/market, 24 hours petrol station, restaurants/bars, nightlife and public transport. My frustrations...though minimal was the low water pressure in the shower and basic cable channels for some prime time TV watching, although there's Netflix I'll definitely stay here again and would recommend to future travelers.

Coral Mist Beach Hotel

Our favourite Caribbean island and we will be back. I think when we come next time we would definitely upgrade to a bigger apartment style room, as we looked into those and they were more spacious, bigger kitchen, living area etc. However the price we paid and the beautiful beach and sea view we had it was amazing. The bathrooms especially could do with a big refurb, re grout, remove the shower curtain and upgrade to a rainfall shower etc. If it were to be refurbished it would be 10/10 especially due to the south coast location. The hotel is on the dated side which we were fully aware of and alot of the hotels are dated when it comes to barbados, unless you are in more of a resort. The room was clean and cleaned daily which was the most important thing. As for the food and drink, we did not really eat in the hotel as we were always out exploring the beautiful island! My partner had the fish cutter from the hotel which he enjoyed! We had drinks and the rum punch which were great, we particularly recommend the smoothies. Although i didn't hear bad things about the food, we did also find it on the pricier side, considering everything is on your doorstep for cheaper. The hotel itself was very quiet but this was due to us being there off season and before the main crop over events, this made it even more peaceful for us. However im not sure how easy it would be to get a sun lounger by the pool or beach if it was full. The pool areas were lovely with sea views easily seen from both. There was no entertainment in the hotel for when we were there, but we were not expecting it as its not a resort. We wish they cleaned up some of the seaweed off the beach when we had a few days of increased seaweed. The staff are amazing at the hotel shout out to TISHA, CHANELLE, AMANDA,CHANTELLE, REGGIE <3. We will miss you all, thanks for providing information that we needed especially bus routes and restaurant advice! As for location this is PERFECT for the south coast, there is so much to do on the island and you do NOT need to be all inclusive in barbados. For the supermarkets there is a massey, petrol station 24hr shop, trident all within 5 minute walk away, to get food and drink for your rooms. You are 15 minute walk from the gap which obviously has all your restaurants, also 15 minute walk away from the boardwalk which has a few more restaurants. Also plenty of bus stops around for the reggae vans to go up to bridgetown or oistins for only 3.50bd. Taxis are pricier so for west coast ideally hire a car, on average was around 70bd for west coast. But hire a car to make it easier to explore the whole island if you can! Try worthing food court 5 minutes away from the hotel, amazing authentic street food! I have listed below some places to see and eat The hotel is in need of some refurbishment, the pillows we did find lumpy, the wifi was temperamental cutting in and out and the bathroom is particularly in need of updating. HOWEVER the beautiful white sand beach
