3-Star Hotels in Penang, Malaysia

I just wanna say huge thanks to the fo during cny 17/2 we checkin, forgot her name but shes malay wearing scarf bawal a little bit tembam and cute! She was so kind and patient to arrange our request for birthday deco in our room, she apologized for not noticing my notes on the booking but its okay! Love the ambience of the hotel! Overall it was very nice! Will repeat on staying here next time!

The hotel's location near the airport with a complimentary airport shuttle service was a huge plus. We had an early flight at 7 AM the next day, and they checked us out at 4:50 AM and took us to the airport, saving us from the risk of being overcharged by a taxi. The hotel also has an on-site restaurant with reasonable prices; the coconut and stone pot chicken rice were quite good. There's a pool that's perfect for kids. The hotel also has a small courtyard with a mural wall that's great for photos. However, the room facilities are a bit dated. The large room I booked had a stained sofa. I'm not sure if it was perfume or an air freshener, but the scent in the room was a bit overwhelming and needs improvement.

This hotel is truly excellent. The view facing Penang Hill is absolutely beautiful, giving a calm and refreshing feeling. The room is neat, clean, and very comfortable. What impressed me the most is the great value for money .. we paid around RM2xx for 3 days 2 nights. Definitely beyond expectations for this budget. Will surely come back again!

I am very pleased with the service given by the receptionist. They are welcoming and very friendly. They had been going an extra mile for my birthday during the stay and it made my day. 🥰 Thank you so much again for the hospitality and for the upgrade. The room is spacious and have all the basic amenities. The only thing that I think the hotel can improve is adding more variation to their channels on the TV and all the lift need to be available during peak season since it is a hassle to wait for the lift and missed out a few times just because of the lift is full. However I would definitely stay here again the next time I go to Penang for all the other reasons ☺️

Location around 1.5 km away from many tourist attractions, like upside museum, UNESCO heritage sites etc.. we had to grab taxi everytime. There is a pool on 1st floor, big enough for children to swim around. Its from 7 am to 7 pm. But to be honest, it could be until 9 pm, kind of strict rules. Check-in counter staff was not that welcoming / nor smile, neither kind words/ But cleaning staff and security was kind, smiling every time as we enter the hotel.

2nd time stayed in this hotel! Perfect location, walkable distance to famous breakfast Toh Soon cafe (old shop). Highly recommended! Room was clean and quite spacious! There are swimming pool and gym room but too bad we have no time to use these facilities 😂 overall very good 👍🏻👍🏻

I just stayed for one night. Which was enough for me. Be aware this is not part of the official Rainbow Resort Hotel. Upon seeing my confirmation, the receptionist told me my room was an Airbnb. The building is a hotel as well private rooms that are rented out. The room itself was very spacious, 70 sqm with one bedroom and a living space. It had obviously been repainted recently (it smelt a fresh paint) so the walls were clean. Air conditioning and basic amenities were provided. The building itself, has seen a lot of wear and tear. If you’re on a budget and want a spacious room it will meet your needs. For the price I think it’s quite reasonable if you’re there for a short stay. The hotel is next to a beach, and a swimming pool downstairs. There a few restaurants across the road.

The hotel is connected to the Wembley Hotel, you just walk through a passage from the Wembley to reach the front desk. The location is great, right opposite Komtar and Avenue. For transportation, exit the Wembley Hotel, cross the road, and in 1-2 minutes you'll reach CAT bus stop #9 and the Komtar bus terminal. The hotel is clean, the front desk service is good, and the room itself is nice and clean. It's cleaned every other day and comes with hand soap, toothbrushes, shower caps, slippers, and laundry bags – though no comb. Soundproofing is decent. There's a water dispenser on the floor, so you have free access to drinking water.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my visit. The location was also very convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and transportation. I especially appreciated the attention to detail and the overall relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

Clean and neat. Plenty of places to hand things and hangers. Plenty of power outlets. Cons: The smell of the linens smell, although is good, but too strong. Not good for ppl with sensitive sinus. Aircon abit weak. Pavement not so friendly for trolley and luggages.
