Seriously, autumn in Jilin is breathtaking—every shot looks like a fairy tale! National Day — traveler post in Dandong

Seriously, autumn in Jilin is breathtaking—every shot looks like a fairy tale! National Day

📸 [Divine destination recommendations] ✨No. 1 Huamei Resort (p1-5) Top-tier autumn scenery in Changbai Mountain! Manjiang Grand Canyon is truly breathtaking 😱 The best spot is on the bridge leading to the visitor center. You can see the whole canyon, full of vibrant colors. Every shot is wallpaper-worthy! No exaggeration, as an autumn-chaser, I'm officially obsessed 🏆 ✨No. 2 Sifangding Scenic Area (p6-10) The most beautiful ancient tree cluster in Northeast China, it's amazing! Climb the observation tower to take in the panoramic views. Ancient trees towering with gradient autumn leaves—breathtaking 🍂 The downside is you can't drive up; you have to take a shuttle bus. The ticket is a bit pricey at 75, and it's about a 3-hour walk, so travel light~ ✨No. 3 Xianren Valley (p11-13) The "Xinjiang" of Northeast China! Free admission is the best! 🐂🐴 Herds of cattle and horses + vast cedar forests + fairy-tale cabins—it's like walking into Hemu Village! But the road up is gravel, and it takes half an hour to drive there, but it's totally worth it! ✨No. 4 Benhuan Highway (p14-16, recommended arrival Oct 7) Navigate to "Qingman Fenglin," but don't drive into the scenic area! When you see cars parked along the road, that's the spot! Red maples + clear streams, the whole screen is cinematic 🍁 ✨No. 5 Tiechang Line (p17-18) A hidden gem of an autumn scenic road! Drive south from Jianchang Town all the way to Kuandian. It's over 90 km and takes 2 hours. There's almost no traffic, and the whole way is full of surprises! 🚙 🗺️ [Complete 8-day itinerary] D1 Changchun → Sifangding Scenic Area → Jingyu County D3 Jingyu County → Lushuihe National Forest Park → Huamei Resort → Songjianghe Town D4 Songjianghe Town → Xianren Valley → Linjiang City D5 Linjiang City → Ji'an City (G331) D6 Ji'an → Qinghe Maple Leaf Valley → Donglai Township → County Road 040 → Tonghua City Tongjiajiang Tourist Resort D7 Tonghua City → Hualai Town → Benhuan Highway → Tiechang Line → Kuandian County D8 Kuandian County → Shenyang 📌 Quick tips: The sunset at the snow-view cabins is absolutely stunning, and the quiet mountain atmosphere is top-notch 🌄 Hurry up and go for the National Day holiday to experience the romantic overload of autumn in the Northeast!

6-Day, 5-Night Liaoning Loop Itinerary | A Beginner's Guide — traveler post in Dandong

6-Day, 5-Night Liaoning Loop Itinerary | A Beginner's Guide

Many people visiting Liaoning aren't sure how to plan their route. This region offers autumn mountains covered in red leaves, the endless Red Beach, Dalian's coastal scenery, and Shenyang's historical sites. This loop route avoids backtracking, has a well-balanced pace, and covers transportation, accommodation, budget, and tips to avoid tourist traps. If you're planning an autumn trip to Northeast China, save this guide. 📌 Overall Route: Shenyang → Benxi → Dandong → Panjin → Dalian 💡 Quick Tip: High-speed rail is convenient between cities. Public transport to scenic spots in the Benxi mountains is limited, so chartering a car or driving yourself is recommended for a stress-free trip. 🗓 Day 1 Shenyang | Explore the Imperial City and experience the local vibe of old Shengjing ✅ Itinerary Shenyang Imperial Palace → Zhang Xueliang's Mansion → Beiling Park → Liaoning Provincial Museum. In the evening, visit the Xita or Laobeishi night markets. · Shenyang Imperial Palace: The only royal palace outside the Great Wall. The red walls are great for photos. Plan for about 2 hours. It is closed on Mondays, so remember to book in advance. · Zhang Xueliang's Mansion: Located next to the Imperial Palace, the Big and Small Qing Buildings have a strong sense of history and offer insight into modern Northeast Chinese history. · Beiling Park: The pine trees turn golden in autumn, making it a very comfortable place for a walk. · Liaoning Provincial Museum: Free, but requires a booking. Be sure to see the "Court Ladies Wearing Flowered Headdresses" painting. Allow 2 hours to explore at a leisurely pace. 🍜 What to eat: Smoked chicken rack, old-style guobaorou (sweet and sour pork), Laobian dumplings, Li Liangui smoked meat pancakes, Korean cold noodles, and Korean BBQ. 🏨 Accommodation & Budget Reference We recommend staying near Zhongjie or Qingnian Street, where subway access makes it easy to get anywhere. Budget hotel: CNY 220–350/night; Quality chain hotel: CNY 380–550/night 💡 Tip: There is a large temperature difference in Shenyang, so bring a jacket for the evening. The museum, Imperial Palace, and Zhang Xueliang's Mansion are closed on Mondays, so plan accordingly. 🗓 Day 2 Benxi | Maple Leaf Capital, a must-visit in autumn (best from late September to mid-October) ✅ Itinerary Benxi Water Cave → Guanmenshan National Forest Park → Laobiangou/Dashihu. On the way, stop by the Benhuan Highway (China Maple Leaf Avenue). · Benxi Water Cave: A cave with a constant temperature of 12℃. Take a boat through the underground river. It's suitable for both summer and autumn, and the scenic area provides light jackets. · Guanmenshan: A popular spot for viewing red leaves. The reflection in the Five-Color Lake is particularly beautiful, and the hiking difficulty is low. · Laobiangou and Dashihu: Fewer crowds than Guanmenshan. The streams paired with red leaves and the morning mist create a perfect atmosphere. A favorite for photography enthusiasts. · Benhuan Highway: Free roadside colorful forests. You can briefly park in safe areas to take photos. 🍜 What to eat: Xiaoshi lamb soup, grilled rainbow trout, and Benxi pancakes. We recommend staying in Xiaoshi and having a bowl of hot lamb soup in the evening. 🏨 Accommodation & Budget Reference There are many accommodation options in Xiaoshi town. Budget guesthouse: CNY 180–300/night; Scenic guesthouse: CNY 320–500/night 💡 Tip: Check the red leaf index before you go, as the leaves are heavily influenced by temperature. The mountain paths can be wet and slippery, so be sure to wear non-slip shoes. Visit after October 8 to avoid the crowds for a better experience. 🗓 Day 3 Dandong | Border town, enjoy the scenery of the Yalu River ✅ Itinerary Yalu River Broken Bridge → War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea Memorial Hall → Hushan Great Wall → Andong Old Street · Yalu River Broken Bridge: An old bridge marked by history. We recommend visiting after 3:00 PM for beautiful sunset photos. You can also take a boat tour on the river. · War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea Memorial Hall: Free, but requires a booking. Please remain quiet and respectful during your visit. We recommend allowing 2 hours. · Hushan Great Wall: The eastern starting point of the Ming Great Wall. Climb the wall for a bird's-eye view of the Yalu River. · Andong Old Street: A Republic of China-style district with many Korean-style snacks. 🍜 What to eat: Grilled yellow clams, clam noodles, Korean rice cakes, and kimchi. 🏨 Accommodation & Budget Reference We recommend staying near the Yalu River or in the Zhenxing District for convenient travel. Budget hotel: CNY 200–320/night; River-view room: CNY 350–550/night 💡 Tip: Drone photography is restricted in border areas, so please follow local regulations. It is very windy by the river, so bring a windbreaker. 🗓 Day 4 Panjin | Romantic Red Beach (peak season from mid-September to mid-October) ✅ Itinerary Red Beach National Scenic Corridor → Rice Dream Space · Red Beach: Vast stretches of red seepweed paired with golden rice paddies. It is most beautiful at sunset. Private cars are not allowed in the corridor, so you will need to take the sightseeing bus. Enter in the afternoon to avoid the harsh sunlight. · Rice Dream Space: Giant rice paddy art, full of Northeast Chinese autumn countryside scenery. 🍜 What to eat: Rice paddy crabs and Panjin rice. The crabs are plump and delicious in autumn and are worth a try. 🏨 Accommodation & Budget Reference Dawa District is closer to the scenic area. Standard hotel: CNY 160–280/night 💡 Tip: The boardwalk is very long, so wear comfortable shoes. There are many mosquitoes by the sea, so bring repellent. The seepweed withers after November and you won't be able to see the Red Beach, so you can skip Panjin during that time. 🗓 Day 5–Day 6 Dalian | Coastal leisure, enjoy the sea and ocean breeze ✅ Itinerary Xinghai Square → Binhai Road → Golden Pebble Beach → Lushun Taiyanggou → Russian Style Street · Xinghai Square: A massive seaside square with a great view of the coastline. · Binhai Road: Nestled between mountains and the sea, the wooden boardwalk is perfect for walking. We don't recommend walking the entire route; just do it in sections. · Golden Pebble Beach: Coastal rock formations, perfect for viewing the sea and taking photos. · Taiyanggou: In autumn, the old houses paired with colorful leaves make for unique photos, and it's not very crowded. 🍜 What to eat: Seafood menzi, sea urchin dumplings, and various fresh seafood. 🏨 Accommodation & Budget Reference We recommend staying near Xinghai or Shahekou for convenient sightseeing and sea views. Budget hotel: CNY 240–380/night; Sea-view hotel: CNY 400–700/night 💡 Tip: The seafood quality is excellent in September and October. It is windy by the sea, so keep warm. 💰 Estimated Budget per Person (6 days, 5 nights, excluding round-trip transportation) Budget-friendly version: CNY 1,600–2,100, including budget accommodation, simple meals, and public transport; some scenic spots not included. Comfort version: CNY 2,600–3,400, including chain/scenic guesthouses, all local specialties, and most scenic spot admission tickets and shuttle buses. ✨ General Travel Tips for Liaoning ✅ Clothing: September–October has a large temperature difference between day and night, so bring long sleeves and a windbreaker. November–December is very cold, so bring a thick down jacket, scarf, gloves, and non-slip shoes. ✅ Transportation: High-speed rail connects major cities. For the Benxi mountain area, chartering a car or driving yourself is preferred. ✅ Avoiding traps: Be cautious with low-priced one-day tours for Red Beach, maple leaves, and border areas. Book tickets through official channels and be rational when purchasing high-priced local specialties at scenic area entrances. ✅ Alternatives: If you get tired on the road, you can plan a hot spring visit. Yingkou and Anshan have well-regarded hot springs that are great for relieving fatigue. One loop route, all the red leaves, red beach, ocean, and ancient cities in one trip. Are you more excited to see the red leaves in Benxi or the Red Beach in Panjin this autumn?

Benxi: zero bad reviews, must-visit in October, four breathtaking destinations — traveler post in Dandong

Benxi: zero bad reviews, must-visit in October, four breathtaking destinations

🍁Four zero-complaint spots in Benxi in October | Guanmen Mountain, Laobiangou + Dashihu, Yanghugou/China's maple leaf road, Wunü Mountain + Huanlong Lake. In China’s maple capital, autumn isn’t a few red trees — it’s the whole mountain on fire 🔥 · ----- 1️⃣ Guanmen Mountain National Forest Park (Benxi county · Xiaoshi) 🚗 Why go: Benxi’s king of maple viewing, peak color from Oct 5–Oct 20. The maple king, Wucai Lake, and Yuetaizi reflections are all here. The boardwalks are well maintained, older visitors can take electric carts and handle the gentle slopes, so first-time visitors to Benxi should start here. ✨ four must-see highlights · century-old maple king with an umbrella-like crown · Wucai Lake red leaves reflected on the water · Xiao Huang Mountain turns red earliest and most densely · Yuetaizi lake offers ethereal reflection viewpoints 🗺 simple itinerary: arrive before 7:30 AM → drive into the mountain → Wucai Lake → Yuetaizi → descend via gentle slope and leave 🍜 what to eat: Xiaoshi mutton soup, beef tongue pancake, iron-griddle potato slices, wild mountain vegetables · ----- 2️⃣ Laobiangou + Dashihu (Benxi county · Dongyingfang) 🚗 Why go: streams carry floating red leaves, boardwalks run close to the water, and it’s more secluded than Guanmen Mountain. Dashihu has five lakes and four waterfalls plus emerald pools and red cliffs — a photographer’s favorite. It reddens early in early October and has fewer crowds than Guanmen Mountain. ✨ four must-see highlights · red leaves drifting on the Yongge River · Xiaoyue Pool/Yingfeng Pool reflections · Dashihu waterfalls set against red cliffs · morning mist in the gully reminiscent of Jiuzhaigou 🗺 simple itinerary: Laobiangou in the morning → farmhouse lunch → Dashihu in the afternoon → return to Xiaoshi 🍜 what to eat: iron-pot stewed free-range chicken, grilled rainbow trout, sauerkraut with pork, cornmeal flatbread · ----- 3️⃣ Yanghugou + Benhuan Highway (China’s maple leaf road) 🚗 Why go: free! Artist village + the Xinkailing–Da'ao Ridge section of Benhuan Highway — driving here feels cinematic. In mid to late October, popular sites may have shed leaves, but the higher elevations here are still ablaze. This is a locals’ secret self-drive route. ✨ four must-see highlights · old houses, streamside maples, and leaf-strewn roads in Yanghugou · Benhuan Highway with red, yellow, and green layered mountains · Xinkailing tunnel morning mist · Da'ao Ridge sunset that sets the hills aflame 🗺 simple itinerary: fill up the tank → depart Xiaoshi → pause at Yanghugou → drive Benhuan Highway with stops as you go → head toward Huanren to leave 🍜 what to eat: roadside farmhouse tofu, hazel-mushroom stir-fry with pork, autumn pears, roasted sweet potato · ----- 4️⃣ Wunü Mountain + Huanlong Lake (Huanren) 🚗 Why go: a Goguryeo mountain city with world-heritage vibes, climb to the top and see Huanlong Lake curve like a dragon. In October, red leaves alongside the Hun River deliver history and autumn all at once — it doesn’t feel like a standard tourist site, more like reading an old Liaodong book. ✨ four must-see highlights · Wunü Mountain cliffside ancient city walls · Huanlong Lake winding around the mountains · Maple Valley at high altitude turns red early · Huanren ice wine estate outskirts with autumn fields 🗺 simple itinerary: arrive early in Huanren → climb Wunü Mountain in the morning → Huanlong Lake shore → exit via the outer ring of Maple Valley 🍜 what to eat: Manchu hot pot, small portions of Huanren roast whole lamb, Hun River fish, Huanren rice, Korean barbecue · ----- ⚠️ Benxi in October — tips ✅ best leaf color: Oct 5–Oct 20. After Oct 25 strong winds can strip the trees ✅ don’t arrive at Guanmen Mountain after 10 AM, tour groups take over Wucai Lake ✅ don’t stop on the curves of Benhuan Highway, only stop at official viewpoints ✅ gas is scarce in the mountains, fill up in Xiaoshi town before entering + download offline maps ✅ mornings and evenings 2–5°C, daytime 15–18°C. Bring a light down jacket + slip-resistant shoes ✅ accommodation is tight during leaf season, book Xiaoshi town/Huanren county seat in advance ✅ wear white/cream/light blue, avoid bright red or orange that clashes with the maple leaves 🍃 quick summary Guanmen Mountain for scale, Laobiangou for water and red leaves, Yanghugou for wild charm, Wunü Mountain for rivers and old towns — Benxi in October shows the most unmasked side of northern autumn: mountains ablaze, streams carrying drifting red, and people standing in the valleys feeling embraced by autumn

3 days in Dandong: Maple leaves or the border, which would you rather see? — traveler post in Dandong

3 days in Dandong: Maple leaves or the border, which would you rather see?

Dandong in October is easily the most underrated autumn treasure in Northeast China‼️ Mountains of red maple leaves meet the Yalu River on the China-North Korea border, and you can feast on some of China's best seafood🦀. The best part is it's uncrowded and beautiful—tourist numbers are just a fraction of Jiuzhaigou's. Why not go?👇 🗺️ Itinerary Day 1️⃣ Border vibes Yalu River Broken Bridge (CNY 30, a relic of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea; you can see the opposite bank from the bridge) → China-North Korea Friendship Bridge → Seafood at the riverside night market → Evening stroll by the river, watching the lights on the opposite bank✨ (Strolling by the river with someone you love, feeling the breeze and watching the lights across the water is so romantic💕) Day 2️⃣ Maple leaf central Qingshangou (Admission CNY 60 + scenic shuttle; maple leaves are fully red in mid-to-late October!) → Feipujian Waterfall → Hutanggou → Boat ride on Qingshan Lake to see the red leaves on both banks🍁 → Stay in Kuandian (The whole mountain is bright red; every photo is wallpaper-worthy📸) Day 3️⃣ The Great Wall and departure Hushan Great Wall (CNY 65, the easternmost starting point of the Ming Great Wall) → Hekou Broken Bridge (CNY 30) → River fish in Hekou Village → Departure 🍜 Local favorites ① "Laoma Jia Menzi" at the riverside market, CNY 12/serving. Dandong menzi is chewier than Dalian's, and it's amazing with sesame sauce and garlic! ② "Manchu Eight Bowls" farmhouse in Kuandian, CNY 60/person. Authentic Manchu cuisine, perfect with wild mountain vegetables in autumn. ③ "River Fish Restaurant" in Hekou Village, CNY 90/person. Yalu River carp, iron pot stewed river fish—locals come here specifically on weekends. ⚠️ Travel tips (hard-learned lessons) ① The peak time for red leaves in Qingshangou varies by a week each year. The golden window is Oct 8–25. Check the "Kuandian Red Leaf Index" before you go! ② Photography of military facilities on the opposite bank is prohibited on the Broken Bridge📵. If you see a "No Photography" sign, put your phone away immediately—don't be like me and almost get escorted away. ③ Touts at riverside seafood stalls are very aggressive. Ask for the unit price before ordering! The price difference between per-crab and per-catty can be double. ④ The Qingshangou scenic area is huge. You must take the sightseeing shuttle; you can't walk it all in one day. ⑤ It takes about 1 hour to climb to the top of Hushan Great Wall, but you can see North Korean villages from the top. It's worth it! Remember to wear sneakers👟. 💰 Estimated costs Broken Bridge 30 + Qingshangou 60 + Boat ride 80 + Hushan Great Wall 65 = CNY 235/person Seafood CNY 80–150/person | Total for 3 days: CNY 900–1,400/person 💡 Practical tips 🚄 High-speed rail direct to Dandong Station (only 1.5 hours from Shenyang) 🏨 Stay by the Yalu River, CNY 200–400/night. River-view rooms are a great value 🌡️ October: 18°C during the day / 6°C morning and evening. Remember to bring a jacket 🚗 Renting a car is recommended for Qingshangou, CNY 400/day—worry-free and convenient

Dandong Lüjiang Village, Yalu River autumn rice fields, a golden secret hidden on the border — traveler post in Dandong

Dandong Lüjiang Village, Yalu River autumn rice fields, a golden secret hidden on the border

I've traveled far and wide to see autumn colors—the gentle rice fields of Jiangnan, the vast wilderness of Inner Mongolia—but nothing compares to the impact of this view in Lüjiang Village, Dandong. Visiting in October, the fatigue I'd accumulated along the way vanished the moment the car rounded the last mountain bend and I saw the Yalu River embracing the entire golden rice field, swept away by the river breeze. The river takes a sharp turn here, with rice fields spreading out along the bay. The ripe rice stalks hang heavy, and when the sun sweeps over, the whole field looks like flowing golden silk. The mountains in the distance are already blushing with red, orange, and light brown foliage. Quiet wooden boats float on the dark green river. Occasionally, you can hear a fisherman's shout in the distance. The wind rustles the rice stalks, and it's so quiet you can hear your own breathing. Transportation: I've tested this myself, and driving is definitely the best option. From downtown Dandong, take the national highway, which is about a 2.5-hour drive. The second half has many mountain curves, so be sure to slow down; you can stop along the way to take photos of the river view. Public transport is much more of a hassle: take a bus to Kuandian County, then transfer to a rural bus to Lüjiang. Buses are infrequent, and the schedule is not flexible. If traveling with a group, consider chartering a car from Kuandian to the village. Accommodation: There are two main options. If you're on a budget, opt for a farmhouse with a heated brick bed in the village for around CNY 100, which usually includes breakfast and dinner. You can see the distant mountains when you open the door. For a river view, choose a riverside homestay, ranging from CNY 200–400. The rooms have wide views, and you can see the morning mist on the river when you open the window. A quick tip: the period around National Day is peak season for autumn scenery in Lüjiang, so rooms are in high demand. It's best to book a week in advance. You don't need to rush your itinerary in the village. There is no admission fee, and the entire river bay, rice fields, and riverside trails are free. In the morning, you can wait for the mist by the river. Thin mist floats on the water, fishing boats row by slowly, and the rice fields are shrouded in soft light—the atmosphere is incredibly immersive. During the day, walk slowly along the rice field ridges, step on the soft soil, and feel the rice waves up close. If you have the energy, hike up to Shenxianding—a 30-minute light hike—to overlook the entire Yalu River bend, with rice fields, river water, and mountains all in view. In the evening, wait for the sunset at the viewing platform. The sunset dyes the river and rice fields a warm orange—the most unforgettable moment of the trip. Do you prefer the morning mist or the evening sunset by the river? The food is mostly authentic farmhouse fare. Must-try: iron pot stewed river fish, with corn cakes pressed around the rim, their bottoms soaking up the fish broth. Also, try the fried river shrimp and wild vegetable platters—all local mountain flavors. For staples, I recommend the farmhouse corn and wild vegetable buns; the taste is simple and the portions are generous. Ask about prices before ordering to avoid any misunderstandings. Clothing and supplies: Keep in mind that there's a huge temperature difference between morning and evening in the Liaodong mountain river area. It's sunny during the day, but the cold wind is biting in the morning and evening, so bring both thin and thick jackets. The rice fields and ridges have soft soil, so be sure to wear non-slip, durable shoes—avoid white sneakers. The UV rays by the river are still strong, so bring a hat and sunglasses. Mobile signals in some parts of the mountains are weak, so carry a small amount of cash. Finally, a few tips to avoid common pitfalls. This is a border area, so make sure to carry your ID card at all times, as border patrol may conduct random checks. Do not fly drones; it is strictly forbidden to approach the national border line, and do not photograph facilities on the opposite bank. Don't fall for people on the roadside selling access to "private" viewing platforms—all the main viewing spots are free. The stalls selling mountain goods at the entrance of the village have high markups. If you want to buy local specialties, ask the farmers deep in the village. The river beach is slippery, so don't rashly go down to the mud near the river. This autumn trip to Lüjiang was free of crowds—just river water, colorful forests, and endless golden rice fields. If you're looking for a place to temporarily escape the daily grind, this is the perfect spot. If you like this guide, remember to save it. If you have questions about routes or accommodation, feel free to leave a comment, and I'll reply when I see it.

The legendary Liaoning summer escape cave via ferrata is ridiculously fun

Listen to my advice! If you want to escape the heat and avoid crowds, head straight to Dandong Tianguo Ancient Cave! It truly changed my perception of Liaoning attractions 😭 While other scenic spots are melting hot on the mountains, this place is a natural air-conditioned room at 12℃ underground. The moment you enter the cave, the temperature drops instantly, making you so comfortable you won't want to leave! The most amazing part is its unique cave via ferrata. Who has ever climbed on a cave cliff?! Below are the deep earth's core, and above are ancient rock walls. You're suspended in mid-air, moving forward, with the atmosphere at its peak 💥 It's thrilling but super friendly! Beginners, those with mild to moderate fear of heights, couples, and students can all enjoy it. Every step offers a new view, every second is an immersive adventure. The Tianguo landform inside the cave is truly breathtaking. Nature's craftsmanship will leave you speechless. Light and shadow play on the stalactites, creating an ethereal glow, like stumbling into a hidden cave sanctuary from a fantasy drama ⛰️ The entire journey is never boring! There are also fun interactions with NPCs along the way. It's not just a monotonous tour of rocks and caves. The fun factor is maximized, and you'll be super satisfied after exploring the whole route. A wild sanctuary away from the city, cool, photogenic, unique, and niche. Before summer ends, definitely come here to experience the contrast of ice and fire ✅

Yalu River Broken Bridge

The Broken Bridge over the Yalu River is a major tourist attraction in Dandong, especially at night when the lights are on. Feeling the wind from the Yalu River and looking at the scenery of the Broken Bridge, one is reminded of the history of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea.

Hushan Great Wall

Today I climbed to the top of Hushan Great Wall ✨, finally arriving at the eastern starting point of the Great Wall, where this giant dragon stretches westward for thousands of miles along the Yalu River. Climbing the steep ridge, many steps were almost vertical, requiring the use of both hands and feet to reach the watchtower step by step. The river breeze swept across the crenellations, and the Yalu River flowed beneath my feet, offering a panoramic view of the unique border scenery. Standing here, it felt as if I could hear the echoes of beacon fires from the border six hundred years ago; every brick and stone held the weight of history. A single step brought us closer to the distant landscape, the mountains and rivers serene, and I finally understood the significance of the Great Wall's protection.

Dandong Ship Scenic Area

You can board a warship to see the main guns, missile launchers, and anti-submarine rockets; enter the bridge, bridge, captain's cabin, sailors' quarters, and ammunition depot; and get a close look at the naval equipment of that era. From the deck, you can also enjoy views of the Yalu River. The entire tour takes about an hour. A good exhibition of knowledge about important military equipment.

Phoenix Mountain of China

In my opinion, Phoenix Mountain in Fengcheng, Dandong, is definitely among the top 3 tourist attractions in Liaoning Province and even the three northeastern provinces. Although it's only a 4A-level scenic spot, it's just as good as any 5A-level scenic spot! Enough said, see the pictures!

Dandong Yalu River Cruise

Even on a cloudy day, the scenery is still quite nice. It's a good opportunity to take the elderly out and see North Korea across the Yalu River. Passing under the Sino-Korean Friendship Bridge and the Broken Bridge allows for a close-up view of the Broken Bridge.

Dagushan Scenic Area, Donggang, Liaoning

The driver was punctual and reliable, and planned the route in advance. The car was well-maintained, with a clean and tidy interior, and the ride was comfortable. His driving skills were excellent, the ride was smooth, and he proactively reminded passengers of important points along the way. He communicated well, provided attentive service, and the entire trip was smooth and worry-free – a fantastic chartered car experience!

Hekou Scenic Spot

Overall it was OK, mainly because the cruise ship allowed me to watch the North Korean people up close, which was quite novel. The Broken Bridge at the river mouth was full of history. Standing on the Broken Bridge, I remembered the martyrs in my heart. The service in the scenic area was average, and the performance on Changhe Island was really meaningless, don't go!!! It was a waste of time. I fell asleep while watching it. I also left early.

Yalu River China-North Korea Border River Cruise (No. 1 Pier)

Taking a boat trip to see our neighbors is a wonderful experience. We shouldn't judge others by our own standards when it comes to choosing a closed-off society (no offense intended). Happiness isn't solely measured by economic development; it also includes peace of mind, tranquility, and harmony. I've been there, so now that development has slowed, a boat trip is a good option. In recent years, construction on the opposite bank has increased, people's living standards have improved, and social diversity has deepened. Seeing the slogan on their wall, "모든 혁명진거를 3대혁명화하자," which translates to "We will transform all the achievements of our revolution into the achievements of three major revolutions," is fine. It's their business; just be aware of it. As for their indifference when they see us taking a boat trip on the river to observe their lives and natural architecture, they seem unconcerned. The scenery is beautiful, and the architecture doesn't seem to differ much. But with binoculars, you'll find that architecture is often just a form of existence. For example, the red brick building resembling the sun, with the three characters "New World" on top, is the Shinsegae Hotel in Sinuiju—unfortunately, it's empty. No further comment; everyone has their own way of life.
