Great
IistalagmitesStayed overnight. Service was good. Got free cendol following their social media accounts in Instagram and Facebook.
Car parking is limited. Room has very small window. Might be claustrophobic to some. Sound proofing was not very good. You can hear people walking in the hallway and even the preparation in the restaurant area (We stayed in room 122 and it was the first room you see right after the door in the ground floor). Mobile data is hard to access inside the rooms as well. They do provide wifi but inside the room was quite slow. Water pressure is quite not strong as I preferred but tolerable. Breakfast has limited choices but all were good. Especially the kuihs. We got welcome drinks and snack when we checked in.
Location was really goodand is easy to drive to. Jonker Walk was indeed walkable.
Over-all the stay overnight was okay. But I recommend to book rooms with windows 😅
GGuest UserWe had a pleasurable 4 nights stay at Parkroyal A'famosa Resort. The rooms were well equipped and had all basic amenities. Upon request we were offered pool view rooms that was nice gesture. Only draw back the TV was lagging, hotel should look into it as we couldn't use TV totally during our stay and probably upgrade it to a smart TV, so that guest can have more entertainment option. Bathrooms were fitted with filtered water taps, but we optted for bottle water and you need to request for it. Staff were polite and approachable. Overall cleanliness of te room is good but corners, walls and walkways need to be cleaned too if left unattended it can build lot of dust. Especially room balcony.
Breakfast buffet was decent and had varied options, but would appreciate more quality and flavour. parata and rendang beef/ mutton and sambal chicken was very good. Fruits options were limited for breakfast in all days never saw banana, Papaya or pineapple being served ony varied melons. Understand Fruits are seasonal but in Malaysia these fruits available all year around.
The hotel is closer to A'famosa outlet mall which is very good for shopping and more food options, but you can't walk need to drive because of the traffic conditions. Hotel should consider a back entrance option to the mall for a walkable option for guest
Overall experienceis good and relaxing. We enjoyedour stay.
AAnonymous UserMy stay at this hotel was fairly decent for a short trip. The location was convenient, and I appreciated the free outdoor parking provided for guests. However, the cleanliness could definitely be improved. The bedsheet did not seem properly changed, and there was a brownish stain in the middle of the bed, which affected the overall comfort of the stay.
There was also an incident during the night when the safety box suddenly started beeping unexpectedly. Thankfully, after calling the front desk, the staff responded very quickly and came to solve the problem professionally, which I appreciated.
UUmmi TravellerHad a wonderful family stay at Birkin International Hotel. The hotel is very kid-friendly, with a great Kids Club, playground, and swimming pool that kept the children entertained throughout our stay. It’s also conveniently located near Klebang Beach, making it easy to enjoy the seaside. In the evenings, there are plenty of street food options nearby, which was a bonus. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay for families, and we would definitely return.
GGuest UserThe hotel tried its best, but it has definitely seen better days. We entered a room that was clean, and the beds were made perfectly. I had requested adjoining rooms on a high floor, and both requests were accommodated, which I appreciated.
The fridge and phone in our room were not working, but it wasn’t a big deal—we simply used the adjoining room’s. However, I would have been quite annoyed if we hadn’t had the adjoining room to fall back on.
At around S$60 per room during the school holiday weekend, it’s difficult to find another hotel in such a central location that also includes breakfast, so the value for money is hard to ignore.
I would also like to commend the staff. The front desk team was welcoming, and the housekeeping team responded promptly to our requests throughout our two-day stay. The buffet breakfast was consistently topped up whenever items ran low, although the selection of pastries was limited. Overall, the staff were amazing—warm and friendly whenever we crossed paths, whether at the front desk, during housekeeping interactions, or at breakfast service.
That said, there are areas that could use significant improvement. The bathrooms are overdue for renovation, with rusty corners and stubborn stains in several places. The towels have also seen better days—they were thin and had visible holes.
I don't fault the staff for these issues, as they seem to be doing their best with a property that is quite run-down. I believe the hotel management needs to do a better job of updating and maintaining the facilities. Overall, this is a budget-friendly option with excellent service, though the hotel's physical condition could benefit from some much-needed upgrades.
MM心空The hotel is located in town center, close to restaurants and shopping areas.
The design may be somewhat dated, but it is well-maintained and clean.
The staff are friendly and welcoming.
Check-in and check-out are quick and easy.
The breakfast offers a wide variety of choices to suit various tastes.
The beds are comfortable.
Although there are two TVs, they are smaller than expected and cannot connect to personal devices.
The swimming pool has beautiful views, and swimming is a good experience.
The gym facilities are standard, and the exercise equipment offers breathtaking city views.
The room rate is reasonable.
CChikibumbum92This was our fifth stay at this hotel, and unfortunately, this time was very disappointing.
1. Check-in
The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were polite and welcoming. I had requested a Queen Bed room instead of Twin Beds. However, I was informed that because my booking was made at the last minute (one day before check-in), only a Twin Bed room was available as all Queen Bed rooms were fully occupied. We accepted the explanation and proceeded with the room provided.
2. Room Condition
Upon entering the room, the first issue we noticed was the air conditioning. Despite setting the fan speed to high, the room remained warm and the air conditioner was not cooling properly.
3. Bathroom
There appeared to be a blockage beneath the sink, as water was pooling around the sink and toilet area. In addition, the shower holder was broken while we were using the shower. We chose not to complain and continued our stay.
4. Room Door & Bathroom Door
The bathroom door could not be closed properly unless it was pulled and pushed firmly. The more serious issue occurred the next morning after breakfast when our room door became stuck and could not be opened.
We contacted maintenance, and the team arrived to inspect the problem. From approximately 8:00 AM onwards, we were unable to access our room. Around 8:30 AM, the maintenance team requested approval from the Front Office to move us to another room because the repair would require additional time. However, they informed that changing rooms would incur an additional charge because we were checking out on the same day.
I strongly disagree with this decision. From 8:30 AM until our checkout time at 12:00/12:30 PM, we were still paying guests of the hotel. The room issue was caused by a defect on the hotel’s side, and guests should not be charged extra to move rooms due to problems beyond their control.
The Most Disappointing Part
During check-in, we were informed that no Queen Bed Deluxe Rooms were available. However, while the maintenance team was accessing our room through the connecting room next door, we discovered that the adjacent room was vacant and equipped with a Queen Bed.
If the actual reason was that the room was unavailable due to maintenance, it would have been more professional and honest to explain that from the beginning rather than simply saying all Queen Bed rooms were fully occupied.
This experience has left us very disappointed. Every time we visit Melaka, this hotel has always been our preferred choice. However, after this stay, we have decided not to return.
I appreciate the hospitality shown by the staff during check-in, but I sincerely hope the hotel will improve both its facilities and service standards. Thank you.
GGuest UserOur stay at Puteri Bay Melaka was great 👍🏼 The location was great because we are able to have a good view of the beach, and it was near food places. The hotel reception and staff were also kind and helpful. Food selection for breakfast was good and the beds were comfortable and had a good sleep 👍🏼👍🏼
The downside was that the toilet was not totally clean as there were strands of hairs sticking out from under the bed. Additionally, there were no toothbrushes provided in the room, and the prayer mat had an odour.
Generally, the stay was good although maybe staff need to ensure the room cleanliness and smell abit more?
I would still recommend the hotel for the comfortable beds and nice view and location beside the waterfront 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
AAnonymous UserWorth the price. The staff are nice and friendly, and they kindly accommodated our request for a late checkout without any extra charges, which we really appreciated. They r also generous with pillows.
For room service, i ordered nasi goreng kampung Morten. it was delicious, except for the sambal belacan which could be improved.
Cons: Room slippers are only provided for suite rooms. It would be great if they could provide slippers for all room types, as it’s uncomfortable to walk barefoot on the room carpet
GGuest UserOverall, it was a pleasant stay. The room was clean, but the toilet facilities need upgrading. The staff were polite and helpful. However, there were minor issues with the pool facilities, as no towels were provided. Still, it was a good experience and worth staying for the price.
