La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Philadelphia Airport

We were assigned this hotel by American Airlines after being stranded for a night. The janky van that picked us up should have been our first sign to decline the stay. Checking in, I looked up and saw the crumbling ceiling and light full of bugs. But we accepted our room...at first. Once in the room, there was zero toilet paper and the stains were plentiful (see photos). I returned to the desk to ask about toilet paper and was offered a different room. We took it, and the pictures of stains and gross things (like a booger smeared on the wall) just increased. I slept on top of the cover with my clothes on and we left as soon as we woke up. Do not stay at this property. Also note, there are no food options within walking distance of this hotel.

Excellent staff easy and true to word login. I can only say that the Roku and apple play was never achieved and was nice but didn’t work and spent a lot of time trying to get it to work so it hampered my work presentation. I also love the area and being along the waterfront and wanted to know if the facilities weee available to rent on the side.

The location is awesome. Easy to get to and from the major attraction in the city. i was there for the Penn Relays and it was a great, easy scenic 1.5 mile walk to and from each day. Got my exercise while seeing the city from on foot. Best of all on my walks this was how i decided where I would eat breakfast and dinner. So I was able to try something different each day. i was a little tempted to try Ruth Chris but I did not :(. The train ride to and from the airport was quick, easy directions to follow and though not the most scenic ride on the train, seeing the steel and stuff looks industrial America. I likes!! I did try one of the take out Chinese food spots ..oh man.. that was colorful to say the least...Bring Your Own Bag!! What an experience that was.. I guess its a city thing. The room was nice. I got real comfy real fast. The bed was super comfy and the view reminded me of my college days in NY. Just watching cars go by and at night with the lights reflecting off the windows creating various patterns. My only challenge was the TV... can you believe after all that good stuff my issue was the TV!? Just the hardest thing to navigate. maybe its cause I dont watch enough TV. :).

South Side
The Old Town of Pittsburgh is connected to the hotel next to the bridge outside the city. There is a parking lot to enter and exit with the room card. It is very convenient. The coffee at the hotel is very good for breakfast.

We chose this hotel because it offered breakfast and the others in the area did not. I am so glad we went with Holiday Inn Exprs Penns Landing! There breakfast was hot and wonderful. Best breakfast in a hotel hands down! It was walking distance to most all historical sites. I was worrying because it seemed on the map a bit farther out than other options and I am totally out of shape. I am probably in the heaviest ten percent of the population (morbidly obese). It was a very easy walk for me to Betsy Ross House, Ben Franklin Gravesite, Elfareth Alley, Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Liberty Visitor Center and great local dining. The location, room and breakfast was great. Clean hotel in very safe area. I felt very safe even at night. I will say the interstate noise is incredibly loud at night. If you are a light sleeper go elsewhere. However, we are a family if heavy sleepers and I was the only one who noticed the interstate noise but not enough to keep me awake. Loved this place

I will start with the positives. Staff was friendly and efficient. They actually have a hot breakfast in the middle of the Covid experience. Hotel is very close to a main road, thankfully we were in the quiet side and didn’t hear any road noise, not sure how the road side rooms would fare. Room was clean and well looked after. Furniture was nice and clearly not old. They had directional lights pointed to each bed if you want to read at night while someone sleeps in the next bed. TV selection was good. TV did not have a sleep timer which is always frustrating to me. Plenty of lighting in the room which is always appreciated. However, despite many good things we will not be back. They missed on the most important part. The beds were rock hard. I have been traveling for work for 15 years and have rarely encountered beds this hard. If you like ultra firm mattresses then this is your place. To accentuate the hard mattresses they selected pillows that had no support at all. Even folded in half they were of little use. Very little sleep at all, and that is the whole purpose of a hotel. The other big complaint would be the outlets. Most hotel are now equipped with usb charging ports near the beds, on the desk, incorporated into the lights etc. Our room had none of that. I had to unplug lights to charge things. I was there for work and the desk was decent but the chair did not fit under the desk causing unnecessary aggravation. We had a suite but it was on the small side for a suite and only had one TV. If you are traveling with coworkers and have a suite, two TVs would have been nice. Not all suites have them but, it would be a big selling point for me. Did have a full couch so you don’t have to use the bed as a make shift couch, when you have been traveling for as many years as I have it is a blessing. Bathroom was big and plenty of counter space, hit water was good, water pressure good. The had nice soap, shampoo and conditioner in pumps in the shower. They had a bath tub if that is what you are looking for. Small microwave and decent size mini fridge which is a must for me. Coffee and tea in the room. Temp controls on the A/C unit under the window and we had no trouble keeping the room comfortable. Parking lot was a pain. I have a full size pickup that I need for my work and the parking lot is not truck friendly. Don’t even think of it is you have a box truck or a pulling even a small trailer. It would not have been a bad stay at all if the mattress and pillow had not been even close to decent. Until that changes, we will stay elsewhere.

The hotel decoration and environment are good. The room is very spacious and the bed is clean. In addition, the food provided in the restaurant is also very delicious. The overall stay experience is relatively good. recommend. 🌹

Stay was not that bad but I can’t access hot water so I had to take shower with very cold water on cold weather day. That location was weird to me because that’s deep in the place inside industry kinda weird
