An excellent breakfast, attentive staff and everything very comfortable and clean. I just have to mention the noise felt in the morning in the rooms facing the bridge. If staying more than one night I would ask to change rooms.

Instalações pouco limpas e com desgaste. Falta de manutenção. A localização é óptima. Preço demasiado elevado para o serviço prestado. Relativamente aos funcionários, apenas um foi efectivamente prestável e cuidadoso ( check-inn). Ponto mais positivo: o pequeno-almoço! É muito rico e saboroso.

We stayed here for two nights. Rooms were comfortable but very noisy. Two train systems are nearby and you can hear them late at night and early in the morning. The buffet dinner was nothing out of the ordinary but the buffet breakfast was good and varied. Great food at the bar off the main lobby. Staff were friendly and helpful. Not sure if I would stay here again.

Vila Galé Ópera ripped my passport at check-in. They offered to pay for reimbursement of a new passport with an email stating this. After I returned home, they have not responded to my 2 requests for reimbursement. I am looking for a response!

Spatious lobby nicely decorated, rooms below bridge to be avoided, they are extremely noisy. Absolutely incompetent reception personnel, unable to pass on repeated complaints regarding electricity problems in our room for over 24 hours. Mediocre food, cleanliness acceptable. Not recommended.

Standard hotel but very clean, walking distance to Belém Monastery. Not much around the area in terms of shops, amenities etc. had to get Ubers everywhere. Hotel breakfast was nice, variety of choices. Staff were pleasant especially check in staff. Hotel roof has amazing view. Room service were rude & basically inexistent. Rooms were clean, bed was firm which is my preference but not for everyone.

Don't stay here if you want to sleep! The noise from the road and trains will keep you up, nobody in our group of 5 slept well. I informed the manager about mould by the window, and they did nothing about this. Shower is very poor quality and the surrounding grouting was very stained.

This is a terrible hotel if you are in Lisbon for business for three reasons (the generally rude staff aside). 1. There are no irons in the hotel, at all. Not in the room, not in an ironing room and they do not keep any for use in housekeeping or reception. When asked we were told 'welcome to capitalism you can pay to have your clothes ironed by an external service with 48 hour turn around'. For business people staying one night or even two this is ridiculous if you cannot even iron a shirt. 2. There is no coffee or tea or kettle in the rooms, and no coffee freely available in the foyer, so my 5 am meeting in my room was sans coffee - it may not bother people on holidays but this is pitching itself as a conference hotel with guests who would come from overseas so this is not acceptable. 3. There are no PowerPoints at the bedside tables (let alone USB connections), again very inconvenient when an alarm needs to be set if your phone is not fully charged after a long work day. (4. I said there was only 3 but the bed was uncomfortably hard and had some child's plastic lining on it under the sheet that was pretty amateur when proper mattress protectors are available)

The hotel was not worth stars, it just much better than a B&B. I went for a conference & it was really near the conference center with 5 mins walk. The breakfast buffet was good. However, the room was not worth for the price, no view, noisy & air conditioning was not working.

The room was tired, the grout in the bathroom mouldy. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Two gin & tonics €32+ *shocked face. I could not recommend this hotel. Not as nice as other Vila Gale hotels.

I’ve been staying in this hotel since the early 00s. But my mind has changed and I’m moving to other options. Nowadays, they seem to prefer profit instead of the comfort of their customers. The staff is still very professional, kind and efficient. But in the last couple of years, there are always several events going on and several sports groups staying and it definitely changed the mood of the hotel. In the last couple of weekends I had to stay in the hotel for business purposes. There was always some kind reply f a kids event related to a football club. The lobby was a mess, the noise was unbearable and even the swimming pool and the Gymn were crowded. What could be an understandable exception seems to be the norm. And it changed the mood for me. And, for what I heard, for other clients. It’s a shame since it’s a great hotel, great staff, great location and I always felt at home.
Response from Property: Dear Guest, thank you very much for sharing your opinion and experience of stay. The comments of our customers are extremely valuable to help us improve our services. We sincerely apologize, for not corresponding to your expectations. We are very grateful for your preference, and we are looking forward to welcome you again soon. Kind Regards, Maria Sanfins

I booked to stay at this hotel for a conference in October this year. My initial booking was done directly with the hotel online. I booked for 7 nights and paid in full. 1 week prior to my arrival I informed the hotel that I will only stay for 5 nights. I was advised that I would get a refund on checking out. On the day of arrival I mentioned that I was leaving early, they put a note on my file. On the day of check out the hotel manager told me that he was unable to issue a refund. I had to send in a bank statement from the account that I used to book. He gave me assurances that the refund would happen within the week. On my arrival back to London I sent the documents he requested and no response. 2 months on I have send over 60 emails and no response or refund. They owe me over 200 EUROS and there is no information on how I can get my money back. They hotel was also a complete disaster, the breakfast was disgusting! Watered down orange juice and runny watery powered eggs!!! The rooms smelt really dusty, the AC did not work. I had a really unpleasant time and all I want is my refund!!! GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK

Booked here as had a conference to attend . Some positives: large clean lobby and excellent breakfast buffet. Very close walk to the conference centre if thats your destination. It ends there. Front desk staff: interested in your concerns/wanting to help, and ability to speak in English was highly variable depending on the person at the desk. The smell: the hallways near by and the elevators all smelled very bad-almost like sewage. The noise: We did not sleep for 3 days. The windows in our room seemed not to be sealed well, we heard traffic, trains , and wind constantly. We noted in the hallway noise came through one of the windows but not the rest, which is why we think the seals in the window rooms were simply broken.! In addition the air-conditioning units near the ceiling were very noisy EVEN when they were OFF you heard wind or outside noise going through the vents of the units. The remote to turn on the air-conditionning didnt work. It doesn't help that there is a train overpass that essentially passes right over the top of the hotel!! Lighting: we paid for a jr suite so that we could work in the room; that was IMPOSSIBLE due to the lighting (and noise) . One could not find a spot in the room with enough light to be able to read or work unless you stood under the window midday, so we had to go down to the lobby to work...negating the expense we incurred to pay for the suite. The area rug in the suite was also hazard, it had no underpaid and slipped constantly across the floor; we tripped more than once ! BRING YOUR OWN TOILETRIES! They provide a pump of hand gel in the bathroom and a pump of handgel=shampoo in the shower-no face soap, no conditioner. Their excuse was "environmental"...I dont buy it--they could have put three pumps in the shower as I've seen elsewhere: body wash, shampoo, conditioner to avoid packaging issues...Multiple attendees from different countries who were at the conference had to run to a nearby pharmacy to buy hair products and soap!!! Having to do that was a first for me after decades of travelling, . We stayed at multiple hotels during this trip to Portugal, all 4 star hotel-this did not compare in the least. When you had a question you had a phone to call the front desk, they never answered despite numerous attempts; we also saw the phones ringing and no one answering when we were at the front desk.
