Hotels Near City Plus in Almaty

I booked this hotel based on the photos they provided, but apparently their photos didn’t match the reality. The front desk stuff told me that the photos they took are from hotel in Turkey, and that the room it self are different, and yes they were completely different. The rooms are very small, very very small really. It seems the hotel is quite new. The breakfast is not bad, and have good view on the mountains. Will I stay again? Answer no

The room was booked with two bedrooms for 3 adults. The room description indicates that it is 60 sq m , there is a view of mountains and rivers, and the idea should be 3 full beds: 1 double bed and sofa. They arrived at night, gave number 608, it turned out to be not prepared for us, the sofa is not, and only 2 puffs and only a double bed, the sets in the bathroom for 2 people. At 2 p.m., after a long flight, they began to find out how to be, first offered other rooms, but they were one-room double rooms, eventually offered to put a baby bed. We had no choice, had to agree, ended up at 3 p.m. The next day it turned out that instead of looking at the mountains and the river, we have a view of the abandoned malformation, and the mountains at all on the other side of the hotel. With such logic, you can lay a carpet in the corridor, the reservation is not refundable. It was extremely unpleasant one of the worst hotels we were in.

First time here, and good first impressions. Beds were comfy enough in a spacious room. Work desk was wide enough for serious office work. Decor was modern, with nice paintings as well. Bathroom has a number of amenities as well. Fitness room was VERY WELL equipped - puts a lot of Doubletrees (and even Hiltons) in the US to shame. Many treadmills, ellipticals and cycles, with lots of free weights and machines. AND, spacious as well. Top notch !! Breakfast was decent....with a number of local delicacies. Standard fare was even adequate for dinner. Hope to explore more next time.

Rather simple and quite clean structure, located not far from the center of Almaty. My room was quite spacious and clean, equipped with a balcony, bathroom with shower, courtesy set, in particular I found the bed very comfortable. Overall it is a good structure, in my opinion not yet accustomed to welcoming tourists from all over the world. Breakfast and language barriers (only one receptionist out of four I've had to deal with spoke English) to be improved. For the rest, I would recommend it.

Good size room, more amenities than expected for an Ibis including dressing gown and slippers. Small modern bathroom. It's a new hotel but some fixtures already show wear and tear, for example the toilet paper holder is coming away from the wall. I like the filtered water stations for endless refills of your provided carafe. Great location, shops and restaurants all around. Good gym and large modern sauna. Helpful staff provide good service and speak English. ”Line Brew” attached restaurant has delicious food at very reasonable prices. Breakfast buffet is a standard selection. Great value and recommended.

An iconic hotel, grand and impressive. Beautiful ambience, great location, top class breakfast spread, high speed WiFi and helpful staff. Though, I arrived one day late to the hotel, the receptionist was kind to provide me room that with an upgrade. The view of snow clad mountains from my balcony was scintillating. I arrived late night, but I could get something to eat, thanks to the intervention of Lady Manager. I also got sumptuous packed breakfast as I left the hotel for a day trip quite early in the morning. The restaurant is pretty good,though a bit over crowded during breakfast. A must stay to enjoy the hospitality of this great country and people.

It's still a good hotel, but the service is not particularly enthusiastic. It may be because of my language barrier. The overall is relatively clean, the surrounding area is also relatively good, and there are many restaurants nearby.

It is an old property with Soviet Union Style. Room layout is a bit weird to me, we booked a queen-sized bed room for 2 adults and they gave us something like a room with connect room of 1 single bed. Bathroom is small and old, dont expect much. The only good things is the breakfast spread with wide variety of dishes both local and international. Great selection for cheese & cold cut. Staff are friendly & helpful but I have an impression that they are understaff as both check-in & check-out need to wait for quite a while. Staff can speak English but not fluent.

I had an 11 hour layover between my flight from Dubai to my flight to Atyrau and was really searching for a hotel near the airport that was convenient and reasonably priced. Grand Hotel Erbil is both of those. I made the booking online with the option to pay on arrival. The booking made provision for a free shuttle pickup from the airport and a very reasonable transfer back the following morning. The hotel confirmed everything by Whatsapp. Contactless payment. Clean room. Clean linen. Friendly and efficient service. I ordered a simple burger and chips via WhatsApp and the food arrived hot and fresh. Minibar is fully stocked and reasonably priced. Their menu is extensive (55 page book) and they cater for everything from a bowl of hummus to platters of meats, cakes, cocktails, etc. For a traveller, this hotel is well worth it.
