Amenities were fine, the bathroom was clean, however the stuff was arrogant and I was harassed by the housekeeping and manager after I used their Internet WiFi to send business and personal emails. I would not recommend using their WiFi if you decide to stay here, especially if the content of your emails is sensitive and confidential.
I took the last room available, a single room, and was not looking forward to a small room but very pleasantly surprised. The room was compact but very nicely furnished. These rooms have been modernised recently and was absolutely perfect for my needs for a one-night stay in Athens. Excellent shower and air conditioning. I slept very well, the only negative comment would be that I was woken very early by the noise of staff getting breakfast ready. The hotel is quietly situated in a side street very close to the Acropolis entrance and just a short walk down the hill from the city centre tour bus drop off. It's also just a few minutes walk from the Acropolis metro stop. The roof terrace has beautiful views and you can buy a drink from the downstairs bar and take it up to the roof. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and I would definitely recommend Acropolis View Hotel for single travellers.
Small boutique hotel with very attentive staff and outstanding view of the Acropolis from its excellent restaurant. From the get-go, we were received with a warm welcoming smile by Marisanti and Valantis. Due to early arrival, our room was being cleaned and we were directed to the top floor restaurant for coffee. Wow, what a view! We were in awe of the spectacular view of the Acropolis from the restaurant. The daily breakfast, served at the restaurant, included a quite diverse menu and the very attentive staff always provided great service. We received recommendations and advice from the front desk staff on a daily basis. Every day we were welcome back from our daily exploring with a smile. Other highlights were the cleanliness of the hotel and the balcony offering a great view of the daily Plaka crowd. Any time we had questions regarding our planned activities, every effort was made by the front desk staff to coordinate among the different shifts to follow up and provide us with the specific details or information. This special customer service gave us peace of mind and contributed to our outstanding experience during our April six-day stay.

This is an exceptionally lovely place to stay in the centre of Athens. Walking distance to the Acropolis, Plaka District and all the fabulous restaurants. Very nice rooms and amenities with very friendly staff. Excellent service. Make sure you go up to the roof top bar for food and drinks with a fabulous night time view of the Acropolis and make sure you say hi to Marios… the best and friendliest of bar hosts!
I was concerned about our two day stay after reading some negative reviews but I had a completely opposite experience. It is a large hotel that has some big groups but they offered very personalized service and took pride in their hotel. Every single person from the doorman to the desk to the cleaner were really friendly and seemed happy to have us there. The location is perfect for exploring the heart of Athens, it is very walkable to the pedestrian area, the Plaka neighborhood and the environs of Athens. I had not even known about the Plaka, but it was at the suggestion of the doorman. The rooms were nice sized and clean, the balcony is small and our room overlooked the garden and the pool. The pool looked very clean and though we didn't use it , it was being enjoyed by others. We did go up to the rooftop where there was a restaurant to see the Acropolis, which you could see from the roof, not from our room at least. We didn't have the food or drinks there and you can't sit and see the Acropolis from there, you have to stand to be able to see the Acropolis, so impressive when lit up. The breakfast was ample and varied and the coffee was delicious. it is in the lower area of the hotel, where they actually had found some ancient ruins which have been preserved, so that is cool, too. I would definitely give my recommendation to this hotel.
I booked this hotel because it was very close to the Acropolis. When I arrived, I found that it was indeed very close, and it only took five minutes to walk there.
There is nothing much to say about the hotel itself. The service attitude was very good, the room was very clean, and slippers and toiletries were provided. The bathroom was separated into dry and wet areas, and the countertops were all marble. The room was a bit small, but there was a balcony with a view of the Acropolis.
There is a place to eat downstairs. If you walk towards the Acropolis, there is also a tourist street over there with more people and more lively.
The sound insulation of the balcony windows and doors was okay. But what was unpleasant was that there were many people outside drinking, watching the game and singing that day, and they didn't leave until one o'clock in the middle of the night. I don't know if this is normal.
Hotel is OK. '5 star' in the sense it has all of the amenities required by the city to make it a 5 star but this is not a 5 star in terms of service, modern facilities etc. If you are expecting a 4 star, it is good for the price paid. Pros - roof terrace, bedrooms have quality furnishings, bathroom well appointed Cons - breakfast is like feeding time at the zoo, with very little in terms of variety, fresh fruit etc. Air conditioning barely works. They say it is by design - it is actually because the air con was installed in the 80s probably and has never had the gas changed I suspect. They do not like using the outdoor seating on the roof terrace restaurant side at breakfast. No idea why. Perhaps was just the time of year I was there. 'Gym' is down the block. Literally you have to leave the hotel and walk down a road to use it. Anyway - decent value, would stay again, but you need to know what you are getting.
We returned to this hotel for a second visit because it is so nice. Rooms are modern and comfortable. The view is unsurpassed: you have the Acropolis on one side and the Temple of Olympian Zeus on the other. The location is perfect for sightseeing. It is a five-minute walk to the Acropolis Museum. Lower floor, street side rooms can be a little noisy, so you might consider some ear plugs or asking for a room on a high floor. Breakfast is amazing! There are hot foods and cold foods and lots of pastries, all quite good. I especially enjoyed the Greek items: spanakopita, tiropita, dolmas. The elevators are tiny and can be bottlenecks at times.
I was traveling with my teenage son and made a two day stop in Athens on our way home from Zambia. The room (52) we had was perfect! It is a big room with lots of space. He slept on the pull-out and I had the bed. We were in a great location to be able to walk to the tour companies, Acropolis and the museum, Plaka shops, restaurants, etc. There is a little kitchen area tucked into a closet that would be great to but groceries and use, along with a small table and four chairs. Lots of windows too. It felt like a studio apartment. The only negative was that the bathroom door in our room was somewhat see-through (frosted glass), with a kind of swing-shut door that did not lock or even shut tightly. Awkward for a teenage boy and mom traveling together, but we managed. I would stay here again.
This was our first trip to Athens and staying here was a choice that I would definitely do again. The convenience the Athenian offers is amazing and their attention to detail for their guests goes above and beyond. It's a short 15 minute walk to many of desirable destinations in Athens including the Acropolis/Parthenon. The rooms were clean and well appointed with ours having a nice balcony to take advantage of. The staff is very attentive and knowledgeable about local attractions including places to eat. Don't hesitate to take advantage of the the roof top restaurant as the food is excellent and the views of the Acropolis incredible! If your lucky enough to get Peter as your server, he will make sure every detail of your meal is taken care of and with a smile!

GGuest UserThe hotel is new, although it is a self-service apartment, there is also a front desk service on the first floor, modern decoration, password lock, TV, refrigerator, coffee machine, air conditioning, the key is to use it. We live in a quadruple room, in fact, there are two standard rooms, each with its own door, and there is also a public outing. The most interesting thing is that the usually charged drinks and snacks are all free here. I am so happy. You must know that a bottle of wine in the restaurant costs 10 euros! Anyway, I think it's good
GGuest UserWe had a fabulous time at this lovely small hotel. We were travelling as a family of three, so wanted a bit of space, but at a fair price. Room 3A has a separate bedroom, a kitchenette and a substantial balcony, which is really great in the morning and evening. The hotel is well designed, stylish interior, nice and modern, and very clean! They also have great toiletries in the room (hair- and body wash and conditioner). Staff is super nice and helpful. The location is excellent - under 15 minutes walk to the Acropolis. There are plenty of car rental outlets just round the corner. We liked Avance - good price, friendly service. For longer distances you can take public transport. Otherwise - lots of taxis as soon as you get to the main road. Django gelato close by has amazing ice cream. We ate at Lolos twice - traditional taverna, short walk away. Lots of good coffee options nearby as well. We were not too bothered by the building site opposite, but I imagine there are different stages to it. The aircon worked just fine for us. If I had to make any comments for room for improvement - the bed is very soft. But it was manageable. In summary: Highly recommended for service with a smile, cost-benefit and location.
GGuest UserBasic but clean and hassle free rooms we stayed on 6th floor with a room balcony and superb view of the city location very close to the acropolis and easy walking to most of the tourists areas The food at breakfast was changing day to day and was nice mixing choice of cereals continental and Greek breakfast, Rooms clean and cleaned daily and staff friendly and helpful Highly recommend if you're after just a clean quiet place to sleep and close to the areas of interest
At first our stay at the Newel Acropolis seemed promising. But this changed when we returned, went to sleep and found someone else's underwear lying in the bed. It was disgusting and completely unacceptable. Since there was no one working at the reception anymore, we immediately reported this issue the next morning, hoping for a quick resolution. Instead, we were met with an incredibly rude and dismissive attitude. The person at the front desk insisted that ”this never happens,” as if we were lying about the situation. It was made our problem, but it wasn't. If someone truly checked the room as they claimed, how on earth did we end up with someone else's underwear in our bed? To make matters worse, the hotel promised to follow up on this issue, but we never received a call. It was only after we sent multiple follow-up messages - to which we only received an automatic reply - we finally received an update about our request for any compensation. Over a month later! And the response? No compensation, nothing. Just a curt message telling us that they wouldn't be doing anything about it. This entire experience was beyond disappointing. The lack of cleanliness is shocking, but the horrible customer service made it even worse. I strongly advise against staying here. This hotel clearly doesn’t care about its guests or maintaining basic standards of hygiene. Avoid at all costs!
GGuest UserConcierge was friendly and extremely helpful. Made us feel like home. Rooms were very clean. Servers are breakfast were wonderful especially Natassia.
Location was great to metro,
Plaka
Monastirakii,
Close to Syntagma.
Will be coming back.
Rrei-naThe room was large and comfortable and the minimum facilities were in place.
Be careful of the door on the rooftop. The wind makes a squeaky sound, and the residents are yelling at you and you're scared.
Although a distance of 10 minutes walk (when you know how) from the Acropolis Museum, it was well worth it. Note though that there is also a trolley bus in to Syntagma which runs tregularly during the day. A small boutique hotel. With friendly, polite and professional personal throughout the hotel. Our room was spotlessly clean. With fresh linen. You have a choice to have your room cleaned or not. of the 5 nights and 2 nights we stayed, even though every other day we requested fresh towels, we were given fresh towels and our bed was made everyday. The breakfast is basic, in that they do not provide a cooked breakfast, but the choice was good enough. Note this is a bed and breakfast hotel only.
GGuest UserIt was good to be close to the Acropolis tourist spot. It was convenient to walk. There is a space for free luggage in the basement. The room was clean and the staff were friendly
