We stayed on a Saturday to Monday in June, reception staff let us check in just after 11:30am which was really nice. The room was great and spacious, bed very comfy and large, air con worked perfectly for a hot weekend, the shower was amazing and good power, also the lovely L’Occitane products!! The hotel is modern and clean, good breakfast, lovely lounging bar area outside - although expensive, the espresso martini was a good one and I enjoyed the club sandwich. A couple of times our vodka was forgotten & we were just given soft drinks but they sorted it at the bar, a shame that the cheaper vodka brands were all gone though.. Louise is a good area and also not a far walk to the main grand place central area too. Our favourite restaurant nearby was colonel steakhouse, there are also lots of shops and bars. I wish we stayed more than 2 nights. If we return to Brussels we would definitely stay here again thank you!

Could not be more satisfied. A niche hotel with design and quality. The location is within walking distance from the main attractions in the city center. Opposite is a waffle shop that queues up for an hour. You can eat without queuing at night. Let me look forward to his hotel in Shanghai.

The room size was OK. I was in a Deluxe room on the 2nd floor with balcony and view to the inner courtyard. I had specifically asked for a quiet room on a higher floor (arrival was on a Friday, stayed until Sunday). During both nights there were festivities going on in the hotel (first a bachelor party and the next night the wedding). The noise (music, etc.) in the evening and during the night was unacceptable for such a high standard hotel. Even when the windows were closed, the noise was clearly audible. Around midnight I went to the reception to complain - both nights. I was told that this event would go on until at least 3 a.m. I was offered to move to another room - but I did not accept that, since I expected to be disturbed by the noise in most rooms. I was told that at my check-out a manager would be available to take in person my complaint - which, of course did not happen. On Saturday after lunch I wanted to have coffee/cake with a friend in the hotel restaurant/terrace. It took the waiter almost 20 minutes to come and take our order. When arriving at our table, he just told us that there is a QR code which we need to scan in to see the menu. We did not place an order and left - very disappointing experience! Another issue was that I was travelling alone and was put in a room with connecting doors, which I believe is not suitable for solo travellers, esp. for females. I informed the hotel about all the above and received only very poor replies. The noise situation has to be improved - if a hotel does not have suitable rooms for parties, then don't rent them out when you have paying guests who at least want to sleep at midnight.

The location is very good, right next to the grand place. However, the rooms are old and need to be updated. The sink in the bathroom and the woodwork had cracks. The corridors were dark and dingy. The lamps or coffee machine have to be disconnected to be able to charge one’s devices. There are no adapters or usb ports. The day we arrived, the bell boy was on holiday, so there was no one to help with the bags. The front office staff, other than the most junior of them, seemed totally disinterested. The room was hot in the night and the aircon panel did not work. When we told the front office staff that the air conditioning didn’t work adequately, they didn’t even acknowledge what we were saying, let alone offer any explanation or apology. The breakfast was fine, but the staff again showed very little interest in even asking if we wanted a cooked breakfast. Wouldn’t recommend.

Location was good, room size is perfect for our small family. Love the services that the hotel provides, super fast and efficient, and fuss free. Hotel even provide lounge area, where hotel guests can go there for a small drink and some appetiser for free. I think every hotel should have such service provided, it is just super nice and welcoming back to the hotel. When we were there, it was raining and hotel staff was even offering us in house umbrella for us to use, and we returned it once we are back at the hotel. Room was a tab bit dark at some corners, but otherwise all is good. Nothing to complain about. Will definitely visit again when we are back in Brussels.

Stayed for three nights and had a lovely stay, only problem was the lifts weren't working the morning I was due to check out anyway, but besides that this hotel is a hidden gem in the city centre in Place des Martyrs. Rogier station is just a few minutes walk through the shopping centre, for airport bus, train and metro connections. I specifically chose Juliana as this hotel has a swimming pool and wellness facilities, with a mini gym and not many hotels in Brussels have pools. The room I requested was a quiet room on high floor away from lifts, room 306. Very comfortable, but be aware that the large top window brings in a lot of light, you need to ask to get it closed away or it will be very light. It's wonderful to provide Milton Brown toiletries and I enjoyed the Nespresso style coffee and teas provided. Housekeeping were helpful, I lost an earring in the bathroom basin and one of the ladies help recover it, so merci to her for her assistance. Pool, sauna and steam room are great, but be aware that there is no changing area, so go directly down to basement ready changed and wear slippers provided in the bathroom drawers. Staff were very helpful and friendly, I would definitely stay here again if I return to Brussels.

Really great stay at this very pleasant and nicely located hotel. We used this as our base having travelled across on Eurostar. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the station. Like all European main stations it’s a bit seedy around the adjacent area but we felt safe. The MIDI station also has an amazing array of shops to hand if you just want a quick snack or get breakfast while on the move. Hotel was clean and the air con was amazing given this was two of those baking 38degree days! Only minor criticisms were the towels were very small for a modern hotel, the maid service is often late (although we were on top floor so perhaps last!) and breakfast very expensive (but see earlier comment) - none of which affected my scoring.

We arrived on EuroStar in Brussels Midi and did not have a good impression of Brussels at first (note to self, next time take the metro or over ground train (operator IC) to Brussels Central which is literally five minutes walk down the slight hill to the Novotel hotel. We finally found the hotel literally 200 yards from the main square (Grote Markt). What a lovely welcome when we got to reception. The receptionists were just lovely, so friendly and welcoming. Embarrassingly their English was just so good. The restaurant employees were very welcoming too and they paid the appropriate attention when required, they too were great. The breakfast chef also came out periodically and topped food up which was good to see. Housekeeping was great and one morning the room service assistant had actually realised we had gone to breakfast and made our room up while we away at breakfast. Location - this hotel couldn't be better placed. Grand Square literally 200 yards away, Grand Central station five minutes walk (if that) up a slight hill. Summary - I would stay at the Novotel (off Grand Place) on a future visit without hesitation. A really well appointed and well placed hotel with really lovely friendly staff. Coming from the trade we appreciate the total effort the staff put in and thank them very much for making our stay so welcoming.

A warm and very clean no-frills hotel close to the centre of Bruges. Great location close to many restaurants and a short walk from the main square. Friendly helpful staff. Basic room layout, plastic sinks etc. but clean and warm. Nice bar and breakfast option. Parking in adjacent underground public car park, with lift access to hotel courtyard. A good city centre option for a short stay.

I stayed recently with my family and feel the hotel suited our needs. The room was one of the largest ones I have had in a hotel so there was plenty of room for us all. Cleanliness wise it was good. The bathroom seemed a bit old and could probably do with a bit of a refresh but apart from that it was all okay. We had an issue with our window not closing and someone was up within 5 mins to fix it which was great. We also had someone come up on another day to check everything was okay we reported a couple of broken light bulbs which again were changed very quickly. The staff were generally quite friendly apart from the reception staff who didn't really acknowledge you but the rest of them were fine. The breakfast was also good with plenty of choice. The hotel is in a bit of a run down area near the main train station but we never had any issues. I would suggest if you don't feel comfortable staying near a busy train station then you should maybe look elsewhere as the hotel can't be held responsible for the area they are in. Its a 20 min walk to the centre of Brussels so again something to be aware off. If I was returning to Brussels I would probably stay somewhere a bit closer to the centre but we did enjoy our stay here.

The location is very close to Brussels South Station, 20 minutes walk from Grand Place Brussels, and there are at least five good Chinese restaurants in Brussels Grand Place. The twin room we stayed in was actually a double bed, a single bed, and the hotel was on the road. Although there was a car sound, it was not noisy. The sheets were clean and the room was very carefully scanned, but there was no air conditioning. There was only a cheap fan on the table. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. There was only a vent, so the exhaust was slightly slower. There is a restaurant downstairs, breakfast for seven euros, only oatmeal, milk coffee and the like, there is no such small buffet. So we went out for breakfast and went to the Chinese restaurant for dinner. The front desk can be, basically a man is on duty, the duty person seems to be different every day, but the service attitude is OK, they can speak English. The WIFI signal of the room is OK, and chatting and watching the video are all right. The TV didn't turn on, it seems that the remote control has no electricity, and there is no kettle and tea, coffee in the room. However, the first floor restaurant water heater can use hot water for instant noodles. The room we stayed in was 225.

Das Zimmer ist in Ordnung, einfach, aber funktional, das Bett bequem, bis auf das seltsame sehr kleine und sehr hohe Kopfkissen. Die Dusche ist nicht verwendbar, weil es keinen Hahn gibt, sondern einen Knopf, wo das Wasser einzuschalten ist, und das ist unglaublich heiß. Frühstück gibt es gar keines, und in der direkten Umgebung auch nicht. Das Personal ist unterschiedlich, aber mit einer Ausnahme alle sehr nett. Die Lage ist aber doch unangenehm. Der Rough Guide rät davon ab, hier abends allein herumzugehen. Wirklich gefährlich ist es doch nicht, aber für alleinreisende Frauen eher nicht anzuraten (ich hoffe, das wird mir jetzt nicht als politisch unkorrekte Aussage gewertet).

Hotel location is very good, not far from the central square, strolling is coming, we stayed in four beds, just four people, one per person, no extra charge, including the head tax, the first floor restaurant has The hot water bottle can be used to boil water on its own. Triples & Quads Beware! I have never rated a place this low. The reason it’s getting even 3 stars is because it was a beautiful and large room. A king bed! Plus a sofa sleeper. And price was average to good. Everything seemed clean and new. It was on the top 4 th floor. Nice looking room but SO hot. It was about 75 degrees outside that day. Thermostat was locked to go no lower than 20 degrees which I think is about 70 F. But I would’ve froze if it was that temp. At home I keep it 77-78 degrees. This felt like 80+. The desk clerk said nothing could be done. The room had one fan. I think it may have been the only room that slept more than two. It felt like the same temp as the hallway and that wasn’t air- conditioned and got noticeably cooler as you walked down. By morning the a/ c appeared to be working. The only windows were skylights. We were on the front side of the hotel and in what seemed to be one of the most happening squares in Brussels. We had to open the skylights because of the heat and it was still way too warm- hardly made a difference.- and was so , so loud I didn’t fall asleep for 3 hours. Neither did my sister. It was very loud until about 11:30 and then moderately loud till I fell asleep after 1:00. Voices and cars drag- racing . All in all, a miserable night. In addition , the shower was not in a closed - off area, so no privacy. There was a coffee machine( Nespresso) but no cream ( I did ask ). At some point in the night , one of the other two occupants shut the skylights. At 7:30 am the garbage and recycling trucks came through. I heard it though I was already awake- it didn’t wake me up. Even if you are only two, you’d do well to ask for a room not over the street if you want to sleep.
