Didn’t feel like I got value for money Hotel room was not cleaned fully before arrival. Not all electrics worked in room and lost my breakfast order on one day. Comfy bed, but very noisy

We expected posh, having paid nearly £300/night. It is filthy with unclean toilets, poor bath drains where hair clogs up, faulty USB ports and a hopeless breakfast service keeping your orders waiting for an hour, we left without! NEVER again!

Very disappointed. Received an email prior to booking with a detailed gluten free breakfast menu, only to be told when we arrived that due to supplier issues items not available. Bar staff and restaurant staff elusive and slow ‘Most enviable room’ just adequate. Television did not work - pixilating, when reported to reception was told it was because of the weather! The weather was ok! The cleanliness of the room was not up to scratch. Was tired looking and needed updating. Very expensive for what it was. £568.00 for 2 nights plus parking at £18.00 per night. All in all bad show Abod

This is a very nice hotel with a conscientious and thoughtful staff. Our room was comfortable. We didn't give the Abode 5 stars because the walls are thin and we heard a bit too much about our neighbors. Also, and not why we came to England, but the telly would work for about 15 minutes before the picture would pixilate. We enjoy watching British telly, so this was a bit of a pain!

Great location right in the heart of Canterbury, but I had to park off-site (they have a small car park which was full when I arrived), so expensive and an extra hassle on arrival after 7 hour drive. Lovely dinner - tapas style - very interesting and plentiful and great waiting staff who really looked after us. So, full marks to them. Didn’t have breakfasts, but others in our group did and it looked good (if included in the room price - otherwise £18 which I can’t justify). With the parking being a bit far away (6 min walk - but frazzled after a 7hr drive and not being able to find it) and having to unload my luggage on my own at the rear door, I feel the people on Reception could have done more to help with the unloading, offered a hand, etc. it was quite a struggle and I then had to go and find the car park, walk back and then take my bags to my room (2 trips in the lift) before joining my group who had already started dinner. I feel they could have helped me to make this easier. The same when leaving. Otherwise, a comfortable room, TV worked OK, nice to have a bath-tub. No noise.

Location is great in the city centre, but this comes at a cost, and that's parking. you need to park out of the pedestrianised area and walk in, but this wasn't mentioned when booking. rooms are ok, and quiet. service was fine, and breakfast was pretty good for a set of limited options.

This was my third stay here. It is a lovely hotel in a great location but unfortunately, due to noise from an outside bar at the back I had a shocking nights sleep. However, after completing a satisfaction survey after my stay and highlighting this the manager contacted me and they have gone above and beyond. Not only have they been in contact with the bar owners, are looking at improving their sound proof glazing they have offered me a complimentary upgrade on my next visit which I have already arranged. It’s rare to receive such great customer service and that’s the sign of a great establishment and one who really values their customers feedback. I’ll certainly be continuing to stay there for my weekend breaks to Canterbury. Thank you Abode Canterbury.
