Francis Marion Hotel

Staff at the front desk was a bit dismissive and parking costs $20/night. Breakfast not included but there’s a restaurant on site. Pros: - great location, close to attractions, restaurants, shops - Wifi works well - rooms are relatively clean however I found a few hairs here and there - rooms are spacious enough - Check-in is at 4pm officially but our room was ready at 2pm so we could check in - mini fridge in room - the hotel is nicely furnished and decorated - 24-hour fitness center - 2 complimentary bottles of water - Coffee machine in the room Cons: - staff at the front desk could’ve been friendlier - bed too soft and pillows too thick - A/C didn’t work properly—the room was either ice cold or hot
Homewood Suites by Hilton Charleston Historic District

Tanya was amazing and so incredibly welcoming and kind. Sue was a great bartender but what made her stand out was I was talking about my experience at breakfast and said how well the staff was she gave me a card and told me to review the morning staff so people knew what a great experience I had. I loved talking to her and she could make a delicious drink but I loved she was a person who cared about those she worked with!! Jim, the guest ambassador was also a pleasure. Mostly because I didn’t know he was an ambassador until after I asked to sign up for vacation club. The hotel was clean. Great location and staff was amazing.
Comfort Inn Downtown Charleston

The representatives were all very friendly and informative. The room was very comfortable and very clean. The pool was very nice but a bit cool due to it’s always in shade between the Hotel and the neighboring building. Complimentary breakfast was a variety. From dry cerial, to hot oatmeal or grits, to waffles to eggs and fried potatoes with peppers. Very Nice. Only one suggestion would be to add a couple of towel holder hooks or racks so to be able to reuse.
The Limited Hotel

Though the hotel itself needed some updating the staff was extremely helpful. I forgot my toiletries bag as well as hair gel. Oliva and Madison at the front desk were able to get me everything I needed quickly. I was in for business meetings so these two saved the day and allowed me to make my meetings on time. They also called into a local restaurant they recommend and were able to secure a reservation for my customers and I on the day of. Everyone enjoyed the recommendation. I will be back thanks to these two and their hospitality. Great location!
Hilton Club Liberty Place Charleston
4.8/598 Reviews
We stayed at Liberty Place over this past weekend. Upon arriving to the hotel, we were greeted with Zac at the valet pickup/drop off area. He was very pleasant and helpful. Our paths crossed multiple times over the weekend and he was consistently friendly. He is a wonderful representation for hospitality especially since he is the first face you're likely to see. We witnessed another guest who wasn't so happy and seemed to take it out on Zac (which he did nothing wrong). He was kind, courteous, and just let it roll off his back. When my car service didn't show to take us to the airport he assisted us in finding alternative transportation. He really is an asset to this hotel.
The Palmetto Hotel, Charleston

We stayed for five nights in a room with a balcony that faced north. The room was spacious with a nice wardrobe, desk, small couch and king bed. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very nice and the upgraded shower was a nice touch. They also offered turn-down service which was nice to come back to after dinner. The staff were very friendly and offered restaurant recommendations and suggestions on what to see. Valets were quick and helped with luggage. We had breakfast included. Breakfast was small but good. There were one or two hot options, pastries, muffins, fruit etc. along with coffee and juice. I don't need a large breakfast so this was perfect to get the day started. The rooms were quiet despite being in a very active area. The location was great, most attractions and restaurants were within a short walking distance. We could see the harbor from our balcony and watched a cruise ship come in one morning. If I go back to Charleston I would definitely stay here again.
