A gorgeous hotel, I especially recommend taking a room with a view of the riverwalk.
Light, air conditioning, curtains are controlled from an iPad, a smart home system, almost familiar to many if you are from Russia. The only thing missing is voice control 😅

Really great hotel! Staff were very helpful and super lovey! Room was amazing, and nice and warm on arrival specially as it was super cold in Chicago! Room and bathroom was clean, and even had a mini fridge to store snacks you might have bought during the day. Pillows were actually really comfy too!
One down side is the gym equipment is a little outdated. I booked this particular hotel as it had a fitness center but it’s very outdated and the pins on the weights were really hard to moved/were jammed, and one of the treadmills had a dip on the middle of it when you walk on it which feels unstable. Still super great greatful they offer equipment though and great to get a little workout in on holiday!

Be careful, there is a hidden charge ”A $25 daily urban experience fee will be charged to each room” at this hotel Fairmont Chicago - Millennium Park. The breakfast charge is very tricky if you have prepaid. 1st you have to argue that you have prepaid for the breakfast for each person in the room. 2nd you need to ask and confirm with the front desk how much the credit is for the breakfast you have paid (my case $38 for each person daily, covers taxes and tips). It is not buffet breakfast, you need to pay extra when you check out if you have ordered more than your credit for the breakfast. When I asked that if I missed one breakfast, can I use the extra credit for the next day. The answers were different from different staff members.
A very expensive hotel focusing on big conferences, there are no microwave oven, empty refrigerator (you can request) in the room and swimming pool. Do not lift up the drinks and snacks in the box on the table (there are sensors underneath) unless you don't mind to be charged. The existing refrigerator is full of drinks. I was afraid to touch it, even the concierge didn't know how to open the refrigerator lock. But the coffee and tea are free. There is a person (not housekeeper) comes to the room to check and refill all the drinks and snacks including the free ones.
We booked our room many weeks earlier, after we checked in I realized that the room prices dropped comparing our original prices, maybe not enough conference people attending.
Hope the information is helpful for you.

The hotel has an excellent location with plenty of parking nearby. It was very convenient to walk to my destination. The check-in process was smooth; I arrived around 2 PM and my room was ready. The room itself was spacious, and the soundproofing was excellent. The restaurant on the second floor was great, and I highly recommend their truffle pizza – it was delicious!

I chose this hotel for the purpose of taking the train. The train station is right across the bridge. The room is tall, spacious and clean. Due to time constraints, I did not choose to have breakfast in the hotel. Note: The hotel can provide breakfast.

A classic Hi USA hostel. For 400 RMB, getting a bunk in the South Loop is something to be grateful for. The location is excellent: a bus stop is just across the street to the south, a metro station to the north, and Grant Park to the east. Most major attractions are even within a 20-minute walk.
The water dispenser is only on the second floor, which is quite inconvenient. Having to go downstairs every time to get water is a bit of a hassle.
The downsides are clear: the decor is a bit dated, and there are no bed curtains. Plus, it's right next to the elevated Loop 'L' train tracks, so the noise is noticeable. Those with poor sleep quality will have a tough time. Personally, I don't mind; it's part of Chicago's character.
There are lockers in the room for your belongings, just remember to bring your own lock. Each room has a sink outside the door, with separate bathrooms and toilets. The bathrooms are equipped with shower gel and shampoo, and amenities are restocked promptly. However, the shower water pressure in the room is insufficient. I also tried the communal showers, and the water pressure there was much better than in the room, making for a much more comfortable wash. The cleaning staff are efficient, promptly removing dirty towels and emptying trash cans. The front desk staff are very friendly, and you can ask them for fresh towels even late at night.
In summary: For 400 RMB, what more can you ask for from a bunk bed within the Loop?

Our room on the 8th was spotless and well-kept. Location was perfect for easy access to the Lyric Opera Theatre. Our only complaint was the breakfast. Plan on bringing your own or eating elsewhere.

The hotel is in a good location but expensive. You can stay in a top five-star hotel in China for this price, but this is just an ordinary four-star hotel on the street. Trump Tower is across the street. It takes about 1 km to go to Millennium Park or the Art Museum of Chicago. The Chicago River is across the street, which is perfect for running and strolling. There is no restaurant of the hotel. The hotel breakfast is served in a bar and restaurant next to it. I didn't try it. It is convenient, but people outside eat together. It is not convenient to take a taxi, especially Uber. It is estimated that it will take a long time to go one way even if it is nearby.

GGuest UserIt was one of the best hotels I have stayed at in the US so far. Good for the price and the staff are super nice and helpful. I liked the free drink vouchers and the bar food too. I’d definitely stay here again if I travel to Chicago again.

JJordan Peter JohnOverall we had a great stay at the hotel. The location, although it appears on google maps to be a little outside of the city centre, is actually very convenient. There are several bus lines that will get you to the city centre (which for me, means the DuSable bridge) in less than 10 minutes.
A couple of things to note. To access the free WiFi you need to have a Bonvoy account (free to create)
Regarding the breakfast, Trip.com seems to display inverted information. It was available Monday to Friday in the 1600 Club (lower floor of the hotel) but IS NOT available on a weekend.

AAnonymous UserChicago is a hotel in the city center, and it is bustling to go out! Walk to the lake and look up the bustling night view of Chicago. Parking is a bit inconvenient, others are not bad.

GGuest UserThe front desk staff were warm and friendly. They were very patient with me, even though my English isn't great, and used translation software to help. My room had a city view; while it wasn't a lake view, I could see the tall buildings outside. The room was spacious, and although the decor was a bit dated, it was exceptionally clean. You have to pick up bottled water yourself from the front desk. The location is superb, directly across from the lakeside and a park. It's within walking distance of Millennium Park and the Art Institute of Chicago. The Magnificent Mile and Chicago River are a bit further to walk, but the #3 bus right outside the hotel makes it very convenient to get there. It's close to the business district, near the subway, and there's a Macy's nearby. There are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity, and there's even a Starbucks on the first floor of the hotel, making it very easy to grab things. The hotel opened in 1920-something, so it's almost a century old and many historical figures have stayed here. I would definitely choose this hotel again for my next trip.

CCihalpThe location of the hotel is very good. The staff is nice. It is a pleasure to have free coffee in the morning. The rooms are comfortable and clean. There is a parking service but it could be a little more convenient but there is not much to do. But I stayed for two nights and I would expect at least the towels in the room to be renewed.

GGuest UserI had booked a last minute trip to Chicago's Virgin Hotel to spend some time with my daughters. From the first minute we walked in the service was impeccable. This continued throughout our stay everytime we walked in or out of the hotel (many times). The location was perfect to shops, restaurants, Riverwalk, beautiful architecture, and many other visual attractions.
The only downfall to our visit was it was Covid season and many restrictions to places we could go to watch the football game and/or eat as the restaurants were all closed in the hotel. That was a safety issue for the guests so it was appreciated they weren't open. The one thing I'd recommend is for them to have a list of what was open nearby and what was offered (dine-in, delivery, take out, etc.). We were able to find places on our own, but it would have saved us the time from searching/calling around.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel!!

YYINGThe location of the hotel is very good, the facilities are very good, after all, is a four-star hotel. The only thing is that it is too late to get the room card at 5 o'clock and waited for half a day in the lobby.

GGuest UserThe hotel itself was decent. However, Ctrip completely failed to inform me that, besides the $15 city tax, there was also a $4 miscellaneous fee, and what's even more infuriating, a compulsory $25 charge. The staff member who checked me in deliberately withheld this information. After checking out, my card was then hit with exorbitant charges.

BBanny3311This hotel certainly shows its age, with décor that harks back to the styles of the 1960s or 70s—a true blast from the past. For travelers who value ambiance and modern aesthetics, this might not be the ideal pick. On the plus side, you do get two complimentary bottles of water. However, the room I stayed in was quite noisy—situated right next to the subway, and the air conditioner roared like an engine.
