Find the Cheap Playa del Rey Hotels

Second time staying here for over a month! Super happy with housekeeping, front desk, valet, and engineering. A few front desk employees who were super kind and helpful that stood out to me are Jessica, Richard, Araceli, and Ivah: Thanks front desk! All of housekeeping staff are amazingly kind and provided excellent service! I apologize to housekeeping for my continuous calls requesting items as I did not request cleaning much because I had my 2 dogs. Thanks housekeeping! Valet is also amazingly awesome! They all did fantastic as most days they were super busy and they still provided excellent service! Kevin, Glen, and a few others stood out because of how patient they were with me since I always driving in and out with our busy schedule. Lol they did not seem to be bothered at all and they were always kind and very helpful! Thanks valet! Engineering team is also helpful, Michael and Tony are so welcoming, professional and always had a smile! Aside from great hospitality, rooms with kitchens were nice and roomy. Wi-Fi always on point. Gym and pool on site is great! Brizo restaurant and bars are also awesome! Really no complaints at all! My daughter, I, and my 2 pups enjoyed our stay both times! I recommend to book a stay!

I have stayed at this hotel four times and really enjoy it. The location is great. Walking distance from Venice Beach and close enough to the airport to be considered on a layover. The restaurant has good food and the marina setting is quite nice. It is a new hotel, so rooms are still in good shape. I had a great view with a balcony using an upgrade once, and that added some ambiance. Finally, the gym is not bad. That said, I am noticing that the price has increased quite a bit to now be as much or more than the near by Marriott and (crazy as it seems) only $50 per night different than the Ritz Carlton. I really can't imagine. If the price is down between $200-$300 per night, that is a good deal but otherwise shop around.

Everything was excellent. Very well located, everyone wasvery nice, the room that gives on the city is good as the rooms that give on the pool. The pool was very good. The bed was comfy and the whole hotel was very clean.

I booked this hotel last minute when me and my son were on a road trip. It had bad reviews, but the price was 1/3 price of other places in the area. So we thought we’d chance it for one night. CHECK IN - was very fast and we were given a ticket to put in our car for free parking in the hotel car park. The guy checking us in was very friendly and looked a bit like a surfer. ROOM - our room was down stairs and was a bit rough round the edges. I can see why people complained, because this place isn’t up to American standards. It had two double beds in our room, a very old tv, no tea/coffee and the furniture looked like it was from the 1970’s. The bathroom was old, but there was a hairdryer and also an iron in the room. Outside we had a large patio area with table and chairs. It had a glass window that overlooked the marina and beach. LOCATION- this was a perfect location round the corner from Venice beach and on the marina. There were restaurants nearby and the beach at the marina could be accessed directly by a gate at the hotel. I loved the location of this place! OVERALL- this place was much cheaper than other places in the area, so you get what you pay for. It has old furniture, is more like a surfers lodge than a hotel. But I loved the vibe here & the location was ideal. The Marriott hotel is right near here, so if you want higher standards and better rooms, stay here but you will be paying 4 x the price! If you are just having an overnight stay or don’t intend to sit in your hotel all day, then this hotel is fine. I would definitely stay here again if the price was good. Free parking and great location right on the beach.

Amazing hotel in a great location. Made leaving lax in the morning incredibly easy. Great spot for restaurants and a few shops. Definitely will return Staff was great and made you feel welcomed. Lobby was a great place to hang out

Top notch service! It is really an excellent hotel in the United States! From the concierge to the front desk to the housekeeping, restaurant and laundry service exceeded my perception and stereotypes of America! The view of the room is nothing to say, the gym, swimming pool, and toiletries are great! ! Close to LAX airport and very close to Marina beach. It will definitely be the first choice in California in the future! Thanks for giving me a comfortable holiday!

PROS: Location is gorgeous. Just steps to the beach. Hotel room is very clean. Room service is fast and delicious. Parking is super simple and convenient. The restaurant food was great and the bar staff we encountered was the only great service we received. Valet folks are personable and helpful. CONS: I didn’t get the feeling that most of the staff was all that happy. Just basic basic service and ho hum. The beauty of this hotel is its proximity to the beach and outdoor area. The first thing you’ll want to do is experience it. Well. We waited well over 40 minutes for pool towels for a mid week stay. I wouldn’t dare to come to this hotel again without bringing my own pool/beach towels. Both days they seemed in very short supply even first thing in the morning and only a handful brought out at a time. There needs to be a system like similar hotels where you can “check out” towels with a barcode and get billed if they are not returned. Maybe that would ease the issue. The pool area is very dated.

The hotel is not far from the beach, there is no breakfast, there are slides for children playing downstairs, there is a small pier, but the room we lived did not have a bathtub, the children's room was dirty, the breakfast was ordered. The bath water was small. Hotel rooms have partial sea views.
