S·APTISM Hotels in Datong

I chose this hotel last minute after finishing my tour in Datong for the day, and I'm really glad I picked a new one. The room was super clean, the mirror even had a built-in light, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area. The curtains could be operated by a switch or manually, which was pretty cool – definitely showed this country bumpkin a thing or two! It's conveniently located near Hongya Restaurant and Kaige. It's about a 13-minute bike ride to the direct shuttle bus for Datong Ancient City scenic area, so it was pretty easy to catch the bus in the morning. There's also a gym upstairs (though it only has two treadmills, haha). Oh, and it even had a mini-fridge for this price point (you usually don't get that in other cities for what I paid!). This trip to Datong really gave me a great start; my later trips to Taiyuan and Xiamen had so many issues in comparison. Just a heads-up: the front desk is open from 8 AM to 2 AM. If you want your room cleaned, you need to tell the front desk the day before, otherwise, they won't come. You can also let them know when you get back to the hotel in the evening. That's all I can think of for now!
