I stayed at the Jiuholi Courtyard Homestay within Datong Ancient City for three days during my three-day trip to Datong. By the end of it, I was seriously considering saving up to buy a courtyard home myself! The owner just laughed and said, 'That's not something you can just save up for!' Hahahaha, and he's right! This little courtyard is just so peaceful and comfortable. The room temperature, amenities, and bedding quality were all excellent.
Location: It's just a few minutes' walk to the ancient city, with the city wall right across the street. Getting to Huayan Temple and the Nine-Dragon Wall was super convenient, all within walking distance.
Service: The service was genuinely impeccable. The owner personally handled our pick-up and drop-off, making us feel like we were being hosted by a favorite uncle â perfectly attentive without being intrusive. The front desk staff were absolutely wonderful, dedicated to providing excellent service, and always spoke softly and politely.
Amenities: They had a Dyson hairdryer, L'Occitane toiletries, and a smart heated toilet seat. I finally stayed in a smart voice-controlled room in the north! [crying emoji][crying emoji] Even the five-star hotels I've stayed in didn't have voice control, but this place does!
Living Environment: It was so quiet and peaceful. Plus, during my stay, the other guests were all very considerate; I didn't hear a peep from anyone else. I absolutely loved the room decor! I seriously want the hotel's design plans, haha!
I'm not a shill, but they made my stay so enjoyable that I just have to help promote them a little. I'll definitely be back next time! #DatongHotel #CourtyardStay

GGuest UserThis time I came to Datong Ancient City to travel, the most correct decision was to book this homestay. Must give the homestay housekeeper a big praise!
The housekeeper took the initiative to contact before departure to confirm the arrival time. Just out of the high-speed rail station, the housekeeper is already waiting, and he enthusiastically introduced the customs of Datong along the way, instantly eliminating the fatigue of the journey.
When we arrived at the hotel to put down our luggage, the housekeeper did not let us blindly stroll around, but asked us if we had any plans to browse the attractions, and patiently helped us plan the tour route. From the best viewing spots of the ancient city wall, to the nearby authentic restaurants, to the guide of Yungang Grottoes, every detail is explained clearly, it is simply a private customized guide, let us worry and save effort.
The most surprising thing was the special breakfast the next morning! It's not the same buffet in the hotel at all, but the authentic local flavor. The hot pasta is accompanied by refreshing side dishes. I feel that the whole morning is full of energy. This is the experience that Datong should have.
In short, from pick-up to farewell, the butler's service is always thoughtful and meticulous. If you also want to come to Datong to feel the charm of the ancient capital, it is correct to choose here, and the experience is directly full!

DDafeieThe room was great, and the underfloor heating kept it very warm. The courtyard (siheyuan) is absolutely beautiful. The underground parking was also very convenient. The service was excellent. I didn't use my car for two days, so leaving wasn't the smoothest. I had to rush to Yungang Grottoes and left before 7 AM, getting a bit delayed at the entrance. The parking fee was 100 RMB (even though there was a free parking voucher, it didn't link successfully), but the owner paid it for me. This is a very responsible establishment, and both the owner and the housekeeper are wonderful. The location is super convenient, and the breakfast is incredibly delicious. Many thanks!

GGuest UserWe took a 23-day trip through China, staying in 9 different hotels. Without hesitation, I can say that our stay at Floral stood out in many ways. First, the hotel's structure is very beautiful and has been renovated while staying true to the traditional style of the region. The hotel room itself was probably the most beautiful we had seen on our entire trip: spacious, with windows that actually opened, good air conditioning, and modern decor and furniture without being over the top. Second, the hotel's location is within the boundaries of the city wall and is part of the old town, so beautiful to walk around and see the traditional houses - many of them renovated according to the traditional style. And third and most importantly, the kindness of the people who work at the hotel. I have never felt so welcome anywhere on holiday as at this place. Unfortunately, I arrived with health problems and needed antibiotics - equivalents of the ones I had brought from Europe. I asked the reception where I could find the closest pharmacy, but rather than guiding me there, Xiao Liu, the lady at the reception, figured out for me which antibiotic would be the right one and got it for me. The same when we needed a suitcase, rather than sending me to the shop she inquired about our desired suitcase and in one hour it was there. Drinks are complementary at any time of the day, and the breakfast (Chinese and international - sandwiches) was generous and unlimited. When we were running late coming back from the grottoes and needed to catch a train, Xiao Liu helped us out by bringing us all our suitcases directly to the train station. We will never forget all these acts of kindness and we are still grateful to her and the entire hotel staff for making us feel so much at home. Datong will stay in our minds and hearts forever thanks to the people of the Floral hotel. Datong is special enough for all the incredible cultural sights you can visit - but our stay there will never be forgotten thanks to the beauty of the Floral Hotel and its amazing people. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

KKatrin SauthoffMy husband and I are a couple from Germany. We booked two nights there, and our decision was absolutely the right one. From the initial contact (via the WeChat app, which is essential for your entire trip to China) to our departure, everything was perfect. We were picked up from the train station by car and taken to the hotel free of charge. This is especially good for Western tourists who don't speak Chinese. The first problem would have been explaining to the taxi where we wanted to go. The lobby and rooms are very beautiful, stylish, and equipped with the highest technology. Most of the guest rooms face the inner courtyard, so you can sleep very quietly and comfortably. The beds are very large and comfortable. The hotel's location is excellent. It's located on the northern edge of the Ancient City of Datong, just a few minutes' walk from the tourist attractions and the colorful and lively old town. So you can enjoy it without being disturbed by noise. I would especially like to emphasize the friendliness of the staff. Unfortunately, we don't speak Chinese, and the staff didn't speak English, but with the help of modern communication tools (language apps), we understood each other perfectly. Every request was fulfilled. There's even the option to use a washing machine in the basement of the hotel. This is especially fantastic for tourists on longer trips to China, as it allows for easy laundry. If you ever come back to China, we will definitely book this hotel again.

GGuest UserBefore my check-in, i received messages from the hotel to make sure I have a smooth journey to reach their place. And from the moment I stepped in, I felt the warm and they eagerness to help me should I have any issues or request. I even got a free upgrade to a better room, delicious breakfast was packed for me when I have to get up early for sightseeing purpose. Location wise, car can only stop at somewhere nearby, but is a short distance and an easy road to walk. Overall I think this is a perfect stay for me, the only regret, I wish I can stay longer instead of only 2 nights.

PPSOCWe were warmly greeted by friendly staff upon arrival, making us feel welcome right away. The check-in process was quick and smooth, and the team went the extra mile to help us register on their app as we are foreigners, ensuring we could easily access Wi-Fi and contact them if needed.
We had called ahead to request a humidifier and air purifier, and were pleased to find them already prepared in our room when we checked in. The room itself was spacious, impeccably clean, and very comfortable. The shower had excellent water pressure, and the inclusion of an electric toilet with a heated seat was a thoughtful touch, especially during the winter season.
Throughout our stay, every staff member we encountered was genuinely helpful and sincere in their service, always making sure we were well taken care of. We initially planned to stay from 6/12/24 to 8/12/24 but felt so at home that we decided to extend our stay for an additional two days.
A big thank you to the team at Mecure Hotel for their exceptional service and attention to detail. Me and my Husband had agreed this is best hotel in our 17 days China trip. We had a fantastic stay and look forward to returning in the future. Great job!

BBianca LaiThe staff were so so friendly and super nice!!! Told them it was our honeymoon and there was a handwritten note with fruits and snacks waiting for us on the table. They didn't have to, but they did âşď¸ when we left, we were rushing for the train and didn't have time to eat breakfast. The staff were so concerned we were skipping breakfast she quickly packed some food for us to go and even ran after us to pass us cutlery because she forgot to pack some.
Would recommend staying here 10/10!

MM863826****Traveling as a family of three, we stayed in a suite with two bathrooms and a living room. The facilities were excellent, and the staff were incredibly attentive and thoughtful. Besides the welcome amenities upon check-in (tea, snacks, and lovely bed decorations), they even brought a foot bath bucket with herbal packs in the evening. They also noticed I was using my laptop and thoughtfully provided a mouse pad. All in all, I was extremely satisfied. I'll definitely stay here again if I have the chance.
