Jinxi Homestay (Datong Ancient City Huayan Temple Branch) is located on Shuaifu Street, Pingcheng District, the core area of Datong Ancient City. It is a 5-8 minute walk from Huayan Temple, Nine-Dragon Wall, and the Ancient City Wall are also within a 10-minute walk. The homestay is a 20-minute drive from Datong Railway Station and offers free pick-up and drop-off services, making it an ideal accommodation for in-depth exploration of the ancient city.
Built on the foundation of a Ming and Qing dynasty courtyard house, the homestay features blue bricks, gray tiles, bamboo shadows, and stone slabs, blending the boldness of Saibei with the gentleness of Jiangnan. Newly opened in 2025, it retains the traditional layout while integrating modern comfort. Spacious guest rooms of around 40 square meters are equipped with King Koil mattresses, brand-name hair dryers, and intelligent control systems, with some room types offering panoramic views of the ancient city.
Here, 24-hour butler service is available. The staff not only provide customized travel guides and hand-drawn food maps but also share stories of Datong's thousand-year history. Facilities including free parking and a laundry room are fully equipped.
Specialty restaurants like Foxiaoban Concept Store, Longjuxiang Shaomai, and Fenglinge are within easy walking distance. The courtyard's carved corridors and viewing terraces are perfect for photography. When night falls, lanterns on the eaves light up—you can listen to the bells of ancient temples and gaze at the starry sky over the ancient city, allowing you to touch the texture of history while enjoying a poetic and high-quality travel experience.
"Very satisfied, very cozy courtyard, most importantly, adults and children slept very comfortably. The front desk lady was very service-oriented, and even sent sweet soup and fruit in the evening, and vinegar when we left. The B&B is quiet in the bustling city, very close to the Dai Wangfu Nine Dragon Wall and Chunyang Palace. The Buddha Companion concept store, Mulan Ice Cream, Beiwei Family Banquet, Long Juxiang, Lao Chai Shaved Noodles, Fenglin Pavilion (I didn't meet too many people), etc. are all nearby."
