GGuest UserI came to Jinan for the May Day holiday. The happiest thing was that the hotel was very good. I was given a free upgraded suite (I forgot to take a photo of the room 😭). Both the lobby and the restaurant were very clean, which was perfect for taking photos and checking in. The service attitude of the service staff was very good 🌸. The original intention of booking this hotel was that it was owned by Atour, but I didn't expect the experience to be so good. I really fell in love with the big bathtub in the suite. I will book it again next time I come 👏🏻

AAnonymous UserThe location itself is quite good, right next to Jinan West Railway Station. However, due to so-called aerial photography of the station, the hotel's facade was completely removed. The sign for Jinan West Railway Station was now on top, but I couldn't find it the first time I went there. The promised early check-in was not fulfilled. The service is only 2 points, and I can't get more than that. A good attitude is useless if the service is not good. Jinan is still beautiful in the rain, and the springs are so clear that you can see the bottom.

AAnonymous UserHotel is located in the middle of an attraction and therefore accessibility’s limited. It’s not near any subway station nor the main room, so you need to call the hotel to pick you up when you’re checking in with luggages.
Location is good though, it is near all the main attractions and we basically walked to all the attractions (20k stepso a day though).
Room is a little small and heater is not consistent.
The view that greets us every morning when we are going out is lovely though, since the hotel is located inside a lovely lake. Breakfast is nothing much to shout about.

GGuest UserThe room was spacious and the service was excellent; they even helped us with our luggage upstairs. The location is great, close to Daming Lake, Baotu Spring, and Qushuiting Street. The braised intestines and crab with egg white sauce at Chen's Shandong Cuisine next door were also delicious! The only minor issue was some renovation noise nearby during the afternoon these past couple of days, which made it a bit difficult to relax in the room. Other than that, everything was fantastic, and I'd definitely consider staying here again.

WWaiyuanneifangTraveling through Jinan, our family of four, with older kids, wanted a room with bigger twin beds. This hotel was the only one that offered 1.5-meter twin beds. After checking in, we found it pretty good, and the design features were all very thoughtful! There's a separate toilet and a separate shower, and the room is big enough for our family of four to spread out. The service was very responsive; we requested water twice. The first time, a very high-quality housekeeping staff member brought it over. The second time, we requested water again through the mini-program, and a robot delivered it twice – very considerate! There's also a coffee machine on the first floor, but the coffee flavor was just average.

There is a laundry room, gym, reading room, and you can see the empty status of the laundry room on the TV in the room, which is very convenient. Congee is also provided at night. There are many parking spaces in the parking lot, and it is very convenient to go out to Jingshi Road. There are many breakfast colors, Chinese and Western food, pasta stir-fried snacks, milk sausages. There is a rest reading area in the lobby. If you talk about things, the environment is very good, and there are self-service drinks. The front desk service is also good, there are questions and answers, the attitude is very good, and it helps solve many problems.

As I'm from Germany and don't have a Chinese phone, I couldn't get online. The staff went above and beyond, helping me set up internet access on my phone. They even provided me with a delicious breakfast free of charge!
The hotel room was spacious, clean, and came with a super comfortable large bed.
I traveled from Germany to Jinan for surgery, and being able to return to the hotel for a good rest after my operation was a huge relief!
Today, at check-out, they even gave me a lovely pastry as a farewell gift!
Thank you so much for your incredible hospitality! I hope to have the opportunity to visit Jinan again and stay at your hotel once more!

GGuest UserI originally booked a King Room with a lake view, but due to renovations, there was a longer-than-expected wait. They ended up upgrading us to a suite. The suite's facilities felt a bit dated, and finding accessible power outlets was a bit of a challenge. However, I'm glad to say there were no strange odors, and the service was excellent. Sister Zheng Xiuzhi, who was in charge of the 11th floor, even brought us fresh fruit. Absolutely loved it!

According to Trip.com’s grading system, The Madison Hotel is listed as a Trip Plus 4-star hotel, but based on our recent stay, we believe it falls short of that rating. While we had a mostly pleasant experience, there were noticeable issues that prevent us from agreeing with the 4-star classification.
The Positives
- Check-in & Staff: The reception team was friendly, and one staff member could communicate a little in English, which was helpful.
- Room Comfort: Our room was spacious and nicely decorated, with a very comfortable bed. The air conditioning worked well and allowed individual adjustment.
- Amenities: We appreciated the complimentary bottled waters and two soft drinks restocked daily in the fridge.
- Location: The hotel is conveniently located inside Wanda Mall, making shopping and dining easily accessible.
The Negatives (Why It’s Not 4-Star)
- Cleanliness Issues: The room wasn’t cleaned to a 4-star (or even 3-star) standard. We found nail clippings on the bedside mat, indicating poor vacuuming.
- Shower Water Pressure: The water pressure in the shower was quite low, which was inconvenient.
- Breakfast Limitations: While the Asian food options were good, there were very few Western choices. Additionally, the Western cutlery felt sticky and wasn’t properly cleaned.
- Staff Sleeping at Reception: On our second morning, when we tried to check out early, the reception staff were asleep on the couches. We understand they may have been exhausted, but this is unprofessional for a 4-star hotel.
Final Verdict
The Madison Hotel is a decent option, but we’d rate it as a solid 3-star hotel, not 4-star. If you prioritize location and comfort over luxury service and cleanliness, it’s a reasonable choice. However, management should address housekeeping and staff training to meet higher standards.
Would we stay again? Possibly, but with adjusted expectations.
