Jinan Hotels with Balcony

"The name says 'hotel', but it's more like a guesthouse, converted from a restaurant. You can tell the room is a bit small – it'd be fine if it were a hotel private room, but the entire place and the room itself are very well-designed. First, the cons: 1. The laundry room has limited and somewhat outdated equipment. There's one dryer and one washer-dryer combo. What I don't understand is why the laundry detergent is at the front desk when the laundry room is on the 3rd floor. There's also no laundry basket in the room. 2. The breakfast selection is a bit limited. The food procurement needs to focus on fresh ingredients; the greens I had this time were a bit old. No coffee, no iced milk. And no napkins on the dining tables. 3. The room outlets lack USB-C ports. Now for the pros: 1. The hotel's location is excellent. Across the street is Shangxin Street, and just a left turn outside leads to the South Gate of Baotu Spring. Daming Lake is only 1.5km away. 2. There's a view. My room had a bay window, and some rooms have balconies (see pic 13). This 'do not disturb' indicator is something I haven't seen in a long time. While it's traditional and should be preserved, I suggest adding a 'do not disturb' light switch inside the room. Currently, an external light on means someone is in the room, and off means it's empty. 3. The front desk ladies are kind and beautiful, always ready to answer any questions! The service is excellent. After checking in, someone from cleaning escorted us to our room door and thoroughly explained the room's facilities and how to use them. 4. Each room seems to receive two large bottles of filtered Black Tiger Spring water, which is drinkable. However, it's not chilled. If they consider customer needs, they could chill one bottle in the fridge. In summary, the value for money is slightly low, but the overall experience was good. I hope the areas for improvement can be addressed."

"The hotel's location is excellent. It's a 15-minute walk to Daming Lake on the left, 15 minutes to Baotu Spring on the right, and 15 minutes straight ahead to Furong Street, making it very convenient for getting around. Also, since it's a new hotel, it feels very new and clean overall. However, the service was really subpar. On my first night, I was told I got a room upgrade, but it was a tail-end room on the second floor facing the parking lot entrance. I could clearly hear people talking outside the hotel downstairs. When I called to request a room change, they initially said they were fully booked. I had to insist multiple times before they finally changed my room, saying it was the same orientation but on a higher floor. Luckily, they eventually gave me a room facing a residential building. I wonder if they intentionally gave me such a bad room at first because I booked through an online platform. Then, during my two-night stay, on the second day, I returned to find that they had only replenished amenities and emptied the trash. The water stains on the faucet weren't wiped, and the pillows weren't tidied up. Overall, the location gets full marks, and the value for money is pretty decent."

"The surrounding area is well-equipped with everything you need, from supermarkets and restaurants to BBQ joints – it really has a lively, local feel. The room was spacious and clean, the front desk staff were very welcoming, and the cleaning auntie tidied the room promptly every day. The hotel is a bit far from the subway station, about a 20-minute walk, but fortunately, taxis in Jinan aren't expensive."
