"We were there to visit families so the location is perfect. The walkway to the elevator is outside of the building and it is a bit underwhelming. The room we had was a business twin bed room which is on the small side. The bathroom is good size and  updated. Front desk and cleaning staff are courteous. Bottled water was provided for free. I took a photo of the RT mart which is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The restaurant downstairs serves decent quality food with good prices. I didn’t try their breakfast though."

"The best decision I made on this trip was staying at Shangquan Lishe (Daming Lake). The hotel is right inside the Baotu Spring scenic area. It's super close to Superran Tower, Qushuiting Street, Furong Street, and Fuxue Confucian Temple, all within walking distance. In the evening, you don't have to battle crowds; you can just go back to your room, open the window, or go up to the terrace to enjoy the view. With the lake breeze, the slow pace of life in Jinan truly comes alive 🌿. The rooms have a new Chinese aesthetic, not the typical cookie-cutter chain hotel feel. There's a tatami/bay window with a tea set, and the room even came with two bottles of Jinan spring water. Boiling water for tea while watching boats on the lake really makes you not want to leave. The bedding is soft, there's plenty of hot water, and the bathroom is dry-wet separated. You can't fault the cleanliness. The service embodies the true ”Hospitable Shandong” spirit: the front desk proactively helped with luggage, provided tour routes, and gave timely reminders. Upon checkout, they even offered a small souvenir. For orders without breakfast included, they sometimes thoughtfully provided it anyway. The value for money within the scenic area is excellent. If you want to take ancient-style photos, if you want to bring your parents and children and not rush, or if you want to quietly enjoy the lake at night – this is the perfect choice. Next time I come to Jinan, I'll definitely stay at Shangquan Lishe again. Falling asleep to the evening breeze is just too comfortable 🦢✨"
