Choose another hotel. When we first arrived I had high hopes. The hotel looked nice and the rooms were clean Then it quickly went down hill. At night it felt like a furnace in the room, causing a horrible night sleep. I asked others in my group and they experienced the same thing. What we found out is that the front desk ( who are not very friendly) control each rooms temperature. The next night I talked to them and they begrudgingly said they would lower it. I additionally had to call and complain because the temperature did not change. The room does not have a lot of outlets and only on 1 side of the bed If you came with a tour, you do not eat breakfast on the main floor, you need to go to floor -1. It is a very dreary room with a very dreary breakfast. The food was not good. No fresh fruit, warm milk. Nothing appealing If it was located in City center MAYBE you would tolerate this, but you are not. You need to spend additional money on a taxi. Overall, I absolutely would not recommend. This is not a 4 star hotel in my opinion
Porcellino Gallery Art Boutique BB

Florence Historic Center
The hotel is very centrally placed opposite the leather market of the Porcellino statue and just 200m from the Palazzo Vecchio, Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio. The hotel is really a B&B, set on the first floor of a 16th century building, full of character and original features, yet modernised sympathetically. The door from the street can be accessed via a code, and the reception is up four half flights of stairs as the ground floor ceiling height is high. There is no lift. The reception is an attractive and pleasant seating area, with free coffee (Italian style only). There is then a door through to the apartments which is locked in the evening. The hotel has nine rooms it seems, some of which, like ours, are small suites. We had a bedroom, bathroom, sitting room and small walk in wardrobe. All the rooms were rather extravagantly decorated in pseudo historical style, ours with a four-poster bed. The seating in the sitting room was not excessively comfortable though – one good armchair and a rather uncomfortable bench-style settee. The bedrooms are arranged around a lounge area and a dining room which were used for breakfast, served on a table in the corridor. The choice of food was good – no cooked breakfast, but there were slices of omelette and cooked ham. There was a good range of bread and pastries, cereal, yoghurt etc. Coffee was made to order and decaff was available. Each day there was one person who came and made the breakfast and attended to check in etc, not the same person each day though they were all very helpful. On checkout there was a room where they could store bags, but access was limited to their working hours so you need to collect bags before 5pm. If you arrive after 5pm they can send video instructions so you can access the hotel and collect your room key. This worked fine for us, but you do need to warn them of any late arrival. Overall, it was a good place to stay, full of character, but limited in terms of not having evening reception, and by the lack of lift. Whilst there was no restaurant, there are three on the ground floor of the same building – a pizzeria, an osteria and an Irish bar, and of course a multitude in the surrounding streets. It wasn’t cheap, but then nowhere in Florence is, but was good for getting the feel of the city.

We got the room with a large bed and bunk beds. Service was awesome! They allowed earlier check in because our train arrived to the city before checking, and could arrange very late check out (for a fee, of course), because we had a night train. Everything was great! Very modern amenities, large spaces, clean, working A/C (apparently a luxury), small fridge, coffee machine, nice towels, attentive staff... only drawback could be that it is two flights up, so if might be a challenge. Other than that, this is great! I would certainly return during my next visit. Thank you for everything!

The hotel is in the old town, and our car couldn't get in, so we had to walk for ten minutes with our luggage. But the hotel is very beautiful, next to the old bridge, with beautiful scenery, and convenient to major attractions and shopping. We booked three rooms, each with a different size and layout, but they were all good overall, except for the average breakfast.

Stunning hotel, our room was elegant and classy, very specious. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had-lots of choice: fruit, cereals, cheese, cold meats, cakes, breads, pastries, salads and then you can choose a hot breakfast also-I had the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, French toast and pancakes-all yummy!! Staff so helpful and kind, really couldn’t have asked for a better hotel. Unfortunately we had to cut our holiday short due to the coronavirus but we will be returning! The hotel is about a 10 min walk to the main bits of Florence. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The highlight of this bed and breakfast was undoubtedly the breathtaking view of the Florence Cathedral's dome. Whether it was the golden hues of sunrise or the magical city lights at night, the view was a constant reminder of Florence's beauty
